For the third section, dealing with Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, I evaluated my chosen community's current status with respect to their strengths and weaknesses when it comes to hazards and threats.
Address: Barangay pampalona dos, City of Laspinas, near star mall.
This is the barangay that fixed their hazardous zones and that continue to be a better place to stay.Â
Some before that strike this community is flooding and typhoon. there are times when the community felt after shocks from earthquakes, but it is nothing serious but only to be alarmed. The main problem of the community before was the depressed areas, where homeless people lived, the homeless peoples lived on the side of the river and it was a hazardous zone, whenever there was a storm coming, the barangay rescue team would evacuate them on safe areas like the barangay courts where it is safe for the homeless and then feed them. In some areas small amounts of trashes still lingers around the place but, the people cleans it up everyday. the barangay relies on PAGASA to tell if there will be a storm coming so that they can prepare if there is a need for evacuation. Before when there was a depressed area, it was a hazardous zone because of where the homeless people live, and the river tends to get flooded and gets high tide, in which they could be swept away by the water if they dont get out. as of now, because of vilar he made the river drives which has a high wall so now, the homeless has been relocated to a much better location, and the river side is not a hazardous zone anymore. The head official of the barangay mentioned that, eathquake never hit the barangay but even so, they are still prepared if anything goes wrong. policemen, firemen, and other people of the community helps each other out when there are times of crisis.
SAFE ZONE

The basics on DRRM are taught to students in schools and how to take care of their environment. Signs and warnings are placed around the community to help reduce accidents and prevent people from harming the community, such as unsuitable segregation of waste. Disaster risk reduction is the theory and practice of disaster risk reduction through systematic efforts to evaluate and reduce disaster causal factors. Types of disaster risk reduction include reducing exposure to hazards, reducing vulnerability of people and property, wise land and climate management, and improving preparedness and early warning for adverse events. Disaster risk reduction includes disciplines such as disaster management, mitigation of disasters and preparedness for disasters, but DRR is also part of sustainable development. They also need to reduce the risk of disasters in order to be sustainable development activities. On the other hand, unsound policies for construction would increase the risk of disasters-and the loss of disasters. Therefore, DRR includes every part of society, every part of government, and every part of the private and professional sector.Â

Reflection
This community doesn’t have hazardous zones anymore. although there are a lot of people still littering everywhere, they are still trying to make the community much more better and safer. The people who lives in the community should also cooperate with the barangay officials so that, the community will be able to continue to be safer. Helping others, cleaning up their own messes, and throwing the trash properly can be helpful especially to the community and environment. When i was interviewing the head official of this barangay, he was very kind he is willing to help us with out interview, he is approachable thus it is a very good sign that he is a very good barangay official. He may be very old, but his priciples stays the same, and it is to help the community that he is leading. They also do seminars for DDRM so that the people can be aware and they also have training so they can act fast if there is a disaster waiting to happen.
