this blog is actually only clangen inspired as it says in the pinned!^^ im way too impatient and hate when th fate of my characters is out of my control so i just took inspiration from the format of many clangen blogs and the idea of a clan starting from scratch in a new environment :3 theres other small things inspired by clangens format but all events are written out by me! i may use clangen to generate some backgeound characters in the future (or ask if ppl want cameos maybe??) but yea :]

im thinkin abt changing how i draw the updates so i can do them faster and make them a bit longer aswell likely, id be less prone to burnout but they would be a lot sketchier and less polished 🧍‍♂️ i dont think the fully polished page format is workin for me, you might see me change the style several times aswell but never so drastically you cant tell what characters they are👍 if you have any input on this ermmm lemme know :3

FORGOT TO ADD; since its relevant, dawnpaw and hazykit are half siblings! same clanborn mother but dawnpaws father was a rogue and hazykits dad was flickerclan! plumpaws mom died in kitting and her 2 littlermates died a few days later

Waxing Crescent - part 1 of 2

ok was originally gonna be a 3 page update but the 3rd page is giving me some trouble and ive had these done for a couple days so!! splitting the update!! not much happens in this one but im a lot happier with how it looks compared to the prolouge already lol :3 feedback and questions appreciated !!<3

ok th next update might be longer than i planned LOL might split it into two idk tho.. i finished one full page of th update and drew th layout fr th 2nd one but its 1am so i gotta sleep lol

drew up some refs for future characters and started laying out the second update pages :3 the updates will be less rushed feeling than the prolouge as far as dialouge and pace as i just wanted to get the prolouge outta the way lol,, also sidenote ill be labeling the updates by moon phases instead of the classic moon aka a month bc i feel like a month is a long time fr jus one update and a period of about 3 to 4 days makes more sense to me lol esp w how the story progresses :3 but still wanted to keep th fact they call months moons so seeing as they can tell the moon goes thru a full course of phases each month its not out of left field to say they know that phases or at least have names for em. ok thats it fr now see u l8rrr !!

This is a clangen inspired blog, which means there is no clangen file for these cats and i am just using the format to tell my story!

Summary:

Mirror Image follows Quartzclan, founded by former Flickerclan warrior Lyrestone after the entire clan is wiped out by a pack of dogs, Lyrestone only just managing to save 3 apprentices and a kit from the massacre. Her and the young cats fled to the place they are now, a series of tunnels and caverns in the side of a beachside mountain, and seek to rebuild in the form of Quartzclan, a name that Lyrestone heard in their dreams the first night there. It'll be a long, hard road but Lyrestone is determined to build a better future for the younger cats she brought with them. Even if it feels like the world world is plotting against them at every turn.

How the blog works:

I'll mostly be posting updates in the form of comics, but feel free to send asks to the characters aswell! i probably wont answer these super often and wont reveal any important plot points or lore within ask answers. feel free to send as many asks as you want to me though! i can answer things characters cant, after all :3c

Warnings:

this blog will most likely include depictions of animal death, body horror, unreality, and religious trauma. if more things come up as the story develops ill add them here.

Minor Lore/Role changes

figured id lay out how some roles have different names and a bit of lore on how this world works b4 we start :3

medicine cats are called healers and have very little communication with starclan

mind-healers are healers who have no communication with starclan and specialize in mental health rather than herbs. these cats are always carefully selected and trained and there is never only one in the clan

mediators are a role in this universe, they handle taking important messages to other clans and border disputes aswell as acting as unbiased parties during gatherings!

storks are cats who have chosen to stay in the nursey permanently, they give advice to new parents, help raise the kits, and defend the nursery if needed

cats outside of the clans go to starclan! they usually have other names for it, but they do go there. cats usually stay in their own areas though

the dark forest is called The Under, and is a desolate wasteland with no plants or wildlife. the longer a spirit lingers in The Under, the more their form will distort and the more theyll forget about their life and who they are

the mountain tunnels Lyrestone and the others settle in are next to a beach!
