"I have come to believe with fervent passion that the focus on multiple personalities is missing the point. Dissociative identity disorder is not rare; it is not unique; it is not special. It is just a logical set of symptoms to some terrible trauma. It is a normal way to react to very abnormal childhood treatment."

Shoutout to singlets that accept systems for who they are. Singlets who ask respectful questions and try to understand us. Singlets who do their best to accommodate different headmates and make them feel included. Singlets who listen to what systems have to say. You're so important. Please keep doing what you do.

i need to soapbox about DID more, because its kinda like being trans, you'd think that you'd notice if you had it but that's just cultural osmosis giving a skewed impression, statistically you probably wouldn't. statistically you need to do rigorous work to notice.

being a system and also being autistic is super funny because like you can so clearly tell what a system's special interest is by looking at how many fictives from that source they have
#aagh#sure#if they EVEN HAVE ANY INTROJECTS#or if they have a larger headcount to begin with#idk#it's frustrating actually

was gonna add more but i ran out of steam 😔👎 anyway here’s an infographic on how people with complex dissociative disorders are not that different from you lol
#putting this here as reference#cause it's pretty decent intro to systemhood#even tho i know it's more complicated than that

Even though I don't talk about being a system super often as it has much less of an impact on my day to day than other things about me, I really enjoy being able to discuss systemhood and plurality in my college classes because I have actually noticed a destigmatization happen in a few people that listened to my presentations where I talked about my experience being a DID system or including it in my art, and I really appreciated hearing it not be so heavily medicalized or portrayed as some horrible tragedy. I forgot a person I was talking to was in a previous class of mine and I was about to explain that I was a system and they said "oh yeah, guys in your brain!" and it genuinely was really nice that it was just referred to so casually. I like when people treat my systemhood as a natural variation of existence rather than a spectacle to behold.

Happy Trans Day of Visibility to all trans systems/plurals, trans folk in/who are part of systems, and trans folk with CDDs! I wish an especially happy TDOV to those whose gender is complicated by plurality, including those whose transness "doesn't make sense" when comparing their gender to their body's AGAB; you are still trans even if your gender, relationship with gender, and/or how you define transness don't make sense to others. May today be a fantastic day for you!

xu bingbing from three body (probably also in the original book, but i haven't read that far yet.) one character asks an authority figure for 10 assistants. enter xu bingbing, the assistant worth 10 assistants. and then for the rest of the story, people keep referring to her as 10 assistants.
good for her. plural

This is like a dumb question (or I missed something on your blog possibly), feel free to ignore but.... is there ANY good resource to reliably learn about DID? I am not a system, and I'm finding it increasingly hard to trust anything I read about DID. Thank you!
I don't personally know of any, maybe some of my followers could suggest something?
