I was teaching kids today and they got fixated on the usual ‘are they dead now?’ question when I was talking about historical figures. So I was just like ‘Yes, they’re dead now, everyone who was alive in the 1800s is dead now.’ and then one kid was like ‘Except for you’.

I’m not sure how I’m going to color the rest of the neighborhood. If I should use their favorite colors as their main colors or use most of their main colors and accent with their favorite colors. Sally will still be yellow, Eddie, poppy, and Wally, I’m not sure. But Howdy would still be green and Barnaby will still be blue. Hmmmm mm mm

I’m also still not sure where I’m going with Poppy’s horns. I was thinking deer because she’s skittish, and there’s nothing stopping me from changing the horns up a little, but that’s not very bird-like, which I would like, but birds don’t have horns!

🌸Julie's outfit🌸 I had this outfit in mind for a while, I finally gave in and finished it! I'll add some trivia about it under the spoiler tag~

-The major inspiration for this outfit was imagining Julie with the song "Do it for her" from Steven Universe. Garnet's wedding dress concept also played a role in this design. -The idea behind this piece would be Julie takes on the role of the hero in the play for once. I would love to see Julie being in an active role and not just the damsel in distress again. -The play would start like any other classic fairy tale about a Princess (Julie) and her Prince (Wally), but with a twist. The Prince is the one who gets kiddnapped by the big bad, and the princess has to go on a journey to save him. -In Julie's hair I've added Diphylleia flowers due to their symbolism. I think they could suit Julie in her journey to fully embrace her identity

-The tie has, of course, the genderfluid flag colors on it -The outfit has gradients of the Bisexual flag over them, each color for every piece of it -The flowers on the cape are roses (maybe it's unclear due to the sketchy nature of the drawings) -The sleeves are flower bud shaped -The belt represents the duality of Julie's identity -The other horn is covered by her hair. The single horn is a reference to my OC Blossom, a fanchild of Wally and Julie

Howdy as a rainbow monster debate??

Brainstorming!

Honestly not sure what to do with Howdy. I think I’ll keep his as a bug, but lemme think.

He already has a green theme going on and his antennae already look like horns! His apron pattern could be interpreted as flower-like, so the most I might add is more patterns?? I could make him look more like a gardener maybe. Change his color palette (more colors? Limit colors?) idk. I kind of don’t want to make him look like just Some Guy, y’know? Hmmm…

Oh! What if I make him even MORE buggy-looking? That doesn’t solve the rainbow monster dilemma, but you see where I’m going?
