inesik (木村英一） コンテンポラリーダンサー、インプロバイザー、元ボーイレスクダンサー ダンスカンパニー「モノクロームサーカス」にてダンサーとして国内外で活躍。 フリーに転向後、ライブハウスなどの非劇場空間で役者・画家・書家・音楽家らと主に即興パフォーマンスを中心に活動。 同時にインプロヴィゼーションパフォーマンス、音楽ライブ、キャバレーショー、展示会など多くのオーガナイズも行う。 2014年から2022年は関西初のボーイレスクダンサーとしても活動を行い、ショービジネス業界でも数多くのステージに立つ。 35年間培った舞台経験を土台にして新たなスタイルを模索するため���2023年よりinesikとして活動を開始する。 近年は緊縛、舞踏、音楽、コンテンポラリーダンスのフュージョン公演を定期的に行い、パーティーロックバンド狂都クランプスのボーカルとしても活動を始めている。

下村 美佐： ピアニスト、作曲家、即興演奏家。1977年 三重県生まれ。1999年から2006年まで、三重県で知り合ったヴァイオリニスト・即興演奏家の宮嶋哉行とともに京都ネオクラシカルデュオTHIS=MISAxSAIKOUのピアニストとして活動。過去20年間、フリー・インプロヴィゼーションと現代アート・シーンを中心に活動している。近年は、音の知覚の生理学、物理的空間と音響の関係、新しい楽器の実験などに興味を持つ。これまでに様々な国でのコンサートを経験し、映画の音声やラジオ作品にも携わる。現在は、ドイツとポーランドを中心にコンサートや展覧会などで活動する。

The game carves out its own place at a distance from banality. It carries its objective within itself and because of its lack of purpose it is capable of creating new worlds. The ludologist Johann Huizinga attributed the game – being a vehicle of cultural development – to a feeling of suspense and joy and an awareness of ´being different` from ´normal life`.

Art resembles a game of cards whose exact rules nobody knows. Yet all play or play poker. The artists – male or female – are bidding as to what they want to show, the curators are assessing what they can show, the spectators are asking themselves what they want to love, the collectors what they will buy and the critics what they should write.

In a game of cards the Joker’s function is to fill any arbitrary place. It is unassigned to any colour, and free. It is the ´wild card` representing an advocate for all outsiders and also providing hope and help in moments of helplessness.

"Resonating Views - 響き合う視線”　

遡ること5年前、ポーランドのNaprzeciwギャラリーのアーティストによる展覧会「Reversed Seeing - 逆さまに見ること」が伊勢現代美術館において開催されました。今回は、そのコンセプトを継承しつつ新たに数名のアーティストを加え、日欧対話型美術展としてヨーロッパと日本との貴重な繋がりを称える展覧会を開催します。

これは、世代間、文化間の共鳴を見出す試みです。参加アーティストの異なる姿勢や芸術的表現形式は、音と映像または絵画、楽譜、インスタレーション、コンセプチュアル・アートなどのインターフェースにおける、学際的、実験的探究と関連しています。

今回の展示では、２０世紀と２１世紀の変わり目の美術史や当時のヨーロッパと日本の文化交流の経験という広い文脈の中で生み出されたユニークな過去の作品と共に、新たに制作された今の作品を共鳴させることを試みます。

展覧会のタイトル「響き合う視線」をテーマに、感覚に触れる「遊び」を用いた魅力的なプログラムをご用意しています。

まずは、ミコライ·ポリンスキーによる作曲や音に関連した作品の説明など、子供向けのガイドツアーを行います。続いて、アーティストらが子供たちの前で、小さな作品の作曲から演奏までの流れを披露。その後は、実践タイムでは美佐が弾くピアノの音を聞いてそれを絵にしてみたり、また絵の楽譜を描いて演奏してみたり。

明るい色、暗い音、楽しい色、悲しい音など、色々な表現ができそうです。

アーティストと一緒に、絵と音の境界を越える体験をしてみよう！

持ち物：クレヨン、カラーペンなど（絵の具以外をお願いいたします。紙は美術館でご用意します）

Listening by Eye

In the aftermath of the Second World War the Iron Curtain cut across Europe, creating not only an East-West geographical divide but also systemic ideological and cultural borders.

In 1971 artist Jarosław Kozłowski and critic Andrzej Kostołowski created what came to be known as ‘NET Manifesto’ and mailed it to more than 300 artists and art theorists worldwide. The manifesto called for the abolition of those carefully guarded borders by a free exchange of ideas, projects, artworks, publications, and other forms of expression that would also be made accessible outside of the official art circuit. From the Summer of 2020 Muzeum Susch presents the second installment in a series of presentations prepared by Jarosław Kozłowski, one of the key figures of conceptual art. While the first one focused on text, Listening by Eye focuses on sound and listening presenting works and objects by over 20 artists. Ideas of art blurring different genres and languages, and transforming space and sound has long fascinated artists, both those working with sound as well as visual arts. The 1950s, ‘60s and ‘70s saw an exceptional interest in this field. The performative aspect of music became an inspiration for painters and sculptors alike who deployed sound to challenge the existing artistic paradigms. Musicians, on the other hand, sought alternative forms of expression, frequently trading traditional instruments for unconventional acoustic objects and musical scores for text or diagrams. In 1952, John Cage performed his celebrated 4'33 piece which prompted the audience to listen in to the silence for four minutes and thirty-three seconds. Cage’s proposal was a radical change in what constitutes the essence of music and a turning point in considering how it could be expanded. 10 years later, in 1962, during a Fluxus festival in the city museum of Wiesbaden, the musician and composer Phillip Corner, with other artists, including George Maciunas, Dicka Higgins, Nam June Paik, Ben Paterson, and Emmett Williams, created the work Piano Activities. This was a symbolic act of destruction of a classical piano – a sound as much as a visual act that was met with outrage. The result of the twelfth version of Piano Activities carried out with the participation of the audience at the Art University in Poznań, Poland, in 2012 is currently on view in Susch. This presentation focuses on the links between seeing and hearing art in a broad, experimental perspective.

Artists, Misa Shimomura and Mikołaj Poliński on the concept of ON AIR performance: "The theme of our improvisation will be "air" (the atmosphere "matter" in which sound waves are transmitted), the flow of air and its influence on acoustics. The action is to take place on "air", atmospheric conditions will have a direct impact on its course. At the same time we think about the lightness of the air, the atmosphere. Although it is something absolutely necessary and constantly present, we do not pay attention to it, it remains invisible. This reflection is an indirect reference to the Petit exhibition concept. Also important is, as in the previous realizations, the space of conversation, i.e., the space between the concept (score) and what happens "unexpectedly" during the performance".
