Coining an alternative term for omegaverse:

Pheros (phḗr + érōs) - Literally meaning animalistic love and referring to the concept of omegaverse aka a/b/o

Phḗr meaning animal in aeolic greek + érōs meaning love in ancient greek, I used aeolic greek for animal to avoid confusion with therianthropy and for its similarity with the word pheromone. I created it for the purpose of having a term that encompasses all dynamics not just alphas, betas, or omegas. You would use it in place of omegaverse, for instance 'I read a pheros fanfic the other day'.

another life update:

again, sorry for the inactivity! i promise i haven't forgotten about this blog. i've been super busy with irl work, and i don't really write misce' stuff unless i actually ~feel~ misce-y, so... yeah, nothing's really come out of it. i have written a draft of the avian misceverse so that should come out soon-ish? and the discord server is still a big thing on my list, haven't gotten around to it yet.

is there a word for people within the miscecanis community? like ‘alterhumans’ or ‘therians’? does such a thing exist? obviously you can refer to people by their dynamics, like ‘omegas’, but I’m looking for an overall term. ‘dynamics’ feels like it could get misconstrued. I was thinking ‘misces’ or ‘miscers’ maybe? or does something already exist and I’m just missin it

there isn’t a term, i don’t believe. misces could work, but maybe i could coin one? i’m fairly certain that ‘misce’ is just a latin prefix.

wanted to share my thoughts on a bat based verse based on my extreme bat autism and the miscechiropter I coined on my main :)

🦇 alphas / nocturns (meaning night):

alphas are characterised mainly by their highly sociable and loyal nature. they are valued for high intelligence. alphas typically have very strong scents, but do not necessarily have strong roosting impulses

🦇 betas / stellas (meaning stars):

betas may or may not have alpha or omega traits, such as mating calls, and roosting impulses. betas are often helpful in maternal roosts and help to feed other roostmates. they are more fiercely protective than typical betas and are very physically affectionate. they may or may not have a scent, but are more likely to than omegas

🦇 omegas / lumos (meaning light):

omegas are fiercely protective due to typically having one pup per cycle. they are often very generous but are typically scentless. they have strong roosting instincts and are particularly sociable with other omegas and betas, and can be with alphas

🦇 behaviours:

as bats typically hibernate in the winter, a miscechiropter society is often more dormant during this period, spending long hours resting and sleeping either alone or in roosts, which can be solely omegas (etc), or can be mixed-dynamic.

mating season is during the late summer to autumn, but maternal colonies are not formed until after the winter as pups are born in spring. mating between different roosts is very common. roosts can vary in size and typically have very strong lifelong bonds

other than speech, communication and emotion is expressed through squeaks, trills, screeches and chirps. alphas attract with unique calls that can sometimes sound more like squawks and buzzes, as well as strong scents

this is by no means how a miscechiropter verse HAS to be, just my personal ideas. tagging @miscedefined this may interest you!!

i do still plan to! however, this isn't a top priority of mine (i have irl school + work troubles atm) so it may be a few weeks. if you wanna make your own, go ahead! i'd love to help manage it on the side :]

ideas for miscecuniculus;

alpha / lapinor (inspired by the french word for rabbit, "lapin") :

unlike other species of alpha, lapinors are known for their energy and charisma. they are not as outwardly aggressive as other species. however, don't mistake them for being helpless or peaceful. they simply prefer to seduce their cottons rather than take them by force.

beta / sylph (meaning air spirit) :

often overlooked due to their lack of rut/heat, but incredibly important nonetheless. they possess a keen sense of duty and loyalty, often supporting rabbit packs-- or, warrens-- during the breeding months.

omega / cotton (self explanatory) :

intuitive and sensitive, serving as guardians of their nests. they possess an unusual amount of protectiveness over said nests, even though they are normally stereotyped for being flighty.

culture :

warrens prioritize family, especially the health and well-being of kits. breeding seasons can be long and arduous, and sylphs will tend to unite around one lapinor/cotton pairing to assist them throughout their time together. it's rare for sylph groups to stay together for long, however, the original pairing may be mated for life.

the birth of kits can be seen as somewhat spiritual, a foretelling of the change of seasons, etc. healthy breeding + litters are celebrated.

Where'd you get the name ideas for vulpine ranks? :0 I'd love to expand on it.

i included their source of inspiration in the post :] renarde is based on European folklore, slya is just wordplay of sly, and rouge is just... uh. that. i ran out of ideas.
