Last planned post! (Post 6)
Hey! I just wanted to say thank you for reading my posts, and that this will be my last officially planned post. I may continue this series but less organized than it is now. I will also likely post other things here as well after this, but regardless thank you all so much! Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled misconception. Today's topic is “why are younger people so predominant in the furry fandom?”
Well, this is due to the inclusivity, the creativity and just the overall vibes of this fandom! A lot of younger minds are drawn to creativity and positivity, so even though negativity follows this fandom everywhere due to the hate, we are overall quite a positive group of people! It's also very important for younger minds to feel included in a group of people so that they can learn about the world around them and learn about themselves. They like creativity and so do we, that's it. Nothing else. I won’t get into this due to this blog trying to be PG so just know that to access the NSFW part of the community, you will need to be over the age of 16-18, depending on where you live, so the community is fully SFW for younger kids! It's also worthwhile to mention that stuffed animals and T.V. shows can play a large role in the interest of younger people in the furry fandom. From a young age, kids are given stuffed animals and taught important lessons through these anthropomorphic characters. Due to this early exposure, it's no wonder so many little kids love seeing and interacting with furries and the fandom itself.
As this is my last officially planned post, if anyone has any questions or misconceptions that are PG you would like me to address in the future please do let me know! Until I return...
Stay safe, stay hydrated and continue to be yourself!

Second to last (Post 5)
Hello hello hello! Today's question is ”Why are creative people drawn to the furry fandom?”
This very closely relates to my last question, but well the furry fandom has something for everyone! Do you like to draw? Well so do a lot of us! Do you like to cosplay? So do we! Do you enjoy acting? We do too! Quite a lot of the furry fandom population was drawn to this community due to how creativity based this fandom is! We make our own characters, sometimes make lots of art of them, sometimes cosplay as them, sometimes we just make art for others, and sometimes we get together and roleplay as our characters together! It's kinda the perfect place for those drawn to the fine arts. Due to this inclusivity, we are like a magnet to those who have creative-based minds. I know personally, the creativity drew me in over two years ago and here I am now, taking my love for writing and making blog posts about this fandom! There isn't much to this question other than, we draw in creative people because this is a creative community!
Stay safe, stay hydrated and continue to be yourself! Until next time!

On to the next (Post 4)
Before I start today's misconception, I just want to thank you all for reading these posts even if there aren’t many of you, it's a huge thing for me! Anyway, today’s question is “Why is it that the furry fandom has such a high percentage of LGBTQ+ people?”
Well, short answer, we are quite an open group of people who protect each other and have something for just about anyone. The longer answer is, it's complicated. The photo attached to this blog shows statistics from FurScience, a decently credible source for information and facts related to the furry fandom. It's important to note that a fair amount of hate towards the furry fandom is stemmed from homophobia. So back to the question, why. Well, from my position of knowledge it could be due to how diverse this community is, artists, cosplayers and all other hobbies can be found within this one fandom, which can increase its appeal to those in the LGBTQ+ community. As i’ve personally seen in my own experience, those under the LGBTQ+ umbrella happen to be some of the most creative people I've ever met. Since I'm not a professional this is kinda where my answer ends, but if anyone would like to read more into it you can read more at FurScience. I know this answer may not be perfect or very correct but from what I've seen personally, this is as close to an answer to this question as I can get at this time. I will likely come back to this question later on in the future when I know the concrete answer, until then...
Stay safe, stay hydrated and continue to be yourself! See you in the next post.

Half way there! (Post 3)
Hello and welcome back! Today’s topic will be “Why are furries falsely blamed for all sorts of things?”
Well, if you don’t understand the question I'm answering today, it is basically in reference to the whole “furries force schools to have litter boxes” drama in the USA. So first off, it has been discredited thousands of times with most of the real reasons being either for support animals or if kids need to use the bathroom in school shootings, which in my opinion should be the real issue but that isn’t what this blog is about. So, if it's proven to be false, why is this still an ongoing issue, and why are people still talking about that misconception today? Well, the answer is quite simple, people will do anything to prove their opinion correct, even if that means straight-up ignoring facts. It’s upsetting, but that's the truth of human nature. So this goes back to the original question, why are furries blamed for this stuff anyway? Well, it's the same answer as before, people will do anything to be right, and in this case, they feel the need to be right that furries are “disgusting” and “weird”. There isn't really a solution to this mainly because it’s quite literally a trait of being human, so just know that those people feel the need to be right, even though they have no facts to back up their statements.
Stay safe, stay hydrated and continue to be yourself! See you all next time.

Next topic... (Post 2!)
Hello! I am back with more misconceptions! Today’s question will be “why are furries classified as cringe anyway”.
Well first, the definition of the word cringe is being embarrassing or awkward to the public eye, something that gives others secondhand embarrassment. Which can basically be summarized as anything that isn't what the majority of society does. This can be said for many different hobbies and fandoms that a minority of people are in. Going off of this working definition we have established, it's very uncommon for something to NOT be classified as cringe in some way or another. Even some of the largest fandoms can and are classified as cringe to those, not in them. Knowing this, wouldn't that mean that being classified as cringe be the opposite? Since more than a majority of people would be classified as cringe, then those not classified would be actually cringe? This is just a thought but if that is correct, the word no longer has any single meaning due to it effectively backfiring on all those who use it. Therefore, if someone ever calls what you like cringy, remember they are a minority and therefore, cringe themselves.

First Post!
Hello, welcome to a new blog based around the furry fandom, particularly misconceptions about the furry fandom. First, I will mention this blog will be 100% PG, therefore all NSFW topics will not be discussed on this page. This is mainly so people of all age demographics can read this blog and learn without having to worry about what is being said.
The first misconception I will be diving into is the misconception that furries are “cringy” and that we are “weird”. This is extremely common to hear nowadays, especially online. The reason most people believe this is because of online stereotypes of furries saying things like “UwU” and other things classified as weird and abnormal in society. To be clear, it's fine to not like something, the not okay part is when people go out of their way to let that opinion be known, mainly to harm those of the other perspective. This hate that has been rising causes stereotypes to be emphasized as truth rather than the minority they are in the real world. The hate causes more hate and then it cycles. It's a never-ending loop, and stereotypes get further and further from the truth as time goes on, like a giant game of telephone. It starts as “One person did this, and they happened to be a furry” to “all furries do this and they don’t deserve rights because of that”. While that is extreme, it's surprisingly common for members of the fandom to be told to harm themselves and other horrific things all because of a mere hobby.
Summary. Furries are the victims of a long game of telephone that feeds on hate. It’s very unlikely for this to change so most people just ignore them or report those who take it too far. Hopefully one day these misconceptions I will be discussing will come to light as false or as they are, but until that happens…
Stay safe, stay hydrated and continue being you!
