Matikas Anilao

Matikas is a Tagalog name meaning "elegant, graceful, or refined". He's a nature spirit with the power to make flowers grow. Anilao is a Tagalog surname, but also the name of a flowering plant (Colona serratifolia is the scientific name).

Jang Su-Jun

Su-Jin (수진) combines Su, meaning "long life". Jin means "precious" or "blessed". For him, I'm using blessed. So all together, his name means "blessed long life". This is partially in reference to the myth of Imugi transforming into their full dragon forms after living in water for 1000 years. If only Su-Jin would actually complete this mission, the little brat. Jang (장) means "extend" or "show", and in Korean culture is often linked to strength, leadership, and longevity. He's a minor deity, so it fits him.

Jung Hajin

Hajin (하진) combines Ha, meaning "summer" or "river". Jin, as above, means "precious" or "blessed". So depending on how you read him, his name could read "blessed river", referring to him being a selkie, or "precious summer", referring to his sweet, warm personality. Jung (정) can mean many things. "righteous" is the most common one, but it can also be read as "young" or "gentle". Gentle is the one I feel generally fits him best, but all of them suit him well.

Shin Min-Sun

Min-Sun (민선) combines Min, meaning "clever," "quick," or "gentle," and Sun, meaning "good," "virtuous," "gentle," or "finished". Clever and good are the two that I associate with him. For a breakdown of his friends' names, see this post here.

Florian Amsel

Florian means "flowering". He's a nature elf, so a nature name just seemed fitting for him.

Lin Xiangwen

Xiangwen (香文) combines Xiang, meaning fragrant or aromatic and Wen, meaning literature, culture, writing, or refined. He's a flower faerie, so I'm going with refined or culture for him, making his name read "fragrant culture" or "refined fragrance". He definitely smells like the plum blossoms of Taiwan. Lin (林) means forest. Again, it's a nature themed name for a nature themed boy.

Kim Seo-Jun

Seo-jun (서준) combines Seo, meaning "auspicious" or "comfortable" and Jun, meaning "talented" and "handsome". Together, hid name can read "auspicious talent". Kim means gold. This is in reference to him being a light fairy. He has bright, sparkly golden wings. Stella's Bloomix wings from Winx Club are about what I imagine his looking like.

San isn't included in this, because his name was picked when he was a Monster High OC, so it was picked to follow the Monster High naming conventions (Frankie Stein, Laguna Blue, Clawdeen Wolf, etc). He's a samjoko, so it was the closest I could find that fit that, while actually sounding realistic as a name.

Byung-ho (병昊) means "luminous heavens". He's a bonghwang, which is often associated with the sun in Korean culture.

Hyun-Jae (현제) means "worthy talent". He wants to be a famous published author one day. Chung (정) means "virtuous".

Working on a bio for him, and I'm kind of taking a bit of an AU twist with him, where he doesn't die during the final battle, and instead is freed from Gwi-Ma. He's still a demon, but he's free to live his own path. The story can take one of two routes. If I stick with the original ending, Romance would become a soloist. But if I change it, and they all survive, he would continue on with the Saja Boys.
