Growing up as a girl in the 2000's is having years and years of jokes about teeange girls cutting themselves for attention, like literally everywhere this is a joke that was well loved in the 2000's. And if you're a girl who does cut herself? Well, even more shame about coming forward.

And then when you are older, you're told how privileged we were because "Well people care about women's emotions while poor men get nothing!" And see that become like THE tagline for mainstream feminism because for some reason that's more important than any of the actual issues women face. Because every woman around you is so desperate to seem like the right kind of feminist.

Mocked about serious mental issues and then gaslit into thinking everyone supported us.

That's girlhood in the 2000's.
