Just a reminder that Jesus did ALL the cute baby stuff, like snuggling down into Mary’s shoulder when He was tired, giggling, chewing on His feet, probably sucking His thumb, laughing when St. Joseph tossed Him in the air, and calling Mary “Mama.”

There should be housewife school where they teach women how to cook, clean, sew, budget, garden, take care of children, etiquette, fitness, fashion, and beauty. Not all girls have mothers and grandmothers to teach them. 🥞🧸

(he could have pointed to immodesty, but linking it directly to porn is sus)

I totally agree with the ac thing! It’s marrow much we rely on ac and heating (I’m not talking about wood burning fireplaces) and can’t cope with the weather otherwise. If it’s marginally cold my sister in law cranks the heat up so high you can wear shorts and be hot.
When I’m cold I dress warmly and eat hot foods. When I’m hot I wear loose clothing and eat cold foods. I do not run the ac or heater. ( I do use a ceiling fan or a small electric heater in really hot/cold days.) I rely on clothing and food!
I’m too hippie-ish for my family sometimes

I think about what life without my daughter would be like, and while I might be able to go out more, and buy more things, it would all be meaningless and empty. She really is the greatest blessing the Lord could have given me.

Literally going insane over how
“I would have gone with you to the end, into the very fires of Mordor.”
Is a perfect summary of all the main relationships in lotr.
The hobbits planning out Frodo’s escape before he’s even told them he’s leaving the shire. Following him every step of the way, no matter how treacherous the road becomes.
Boromir traveling across the country in search of an elf king he’s not even certain exists, just because his brother is having visions. To put his brothers mind at ease, and keep their kingdom safe.
The three hunters travel a nearly impossible distance, running days on end with next to no sleep, for two hobbits. For two dear friends.
Arwen gives up immortality to be with Aragorn. For the chance to end up in the mortal afterlife, she leaves all her people behind for her love.
Gimli leaves his home, his family, all of middle earth, to sail to the edge of the world with Legolas. With no idea of what lies in store for him there, he sails anyway.
Sam leaves the shire to sail across the sea to Frodo. Following him to the end, one last time. Unsure what awaits him besides seeing his friend once more- no matter what lies across those shores, being at Frodo’s side once more makes anything worth it.
The idea that love is going to the end, no matter what that may be or how certain it is, but journeying nonetheless. Holding tight to hope, and following those you love through it all. To the very fires of Mordor.

Okay somebody explain sourdough starter to me like I’m an idiot. Does the jar matter, does the lid matter, is it supposed to smell fruity? (I assume yes). What the hell do I do if I don’t want to bake yet, just keep it in the fridge and not use or add anything to it? How can we eat it without dying I am afraid

Homemaking Tip #1
If you use patterned bedsheets, place the flat sheet facedown. When you fold the edge of the blankets over it will display the beautiful pattern you have chosen instead of the bland underside. 🌸

Every generation of Americans is learning less and less because parents continue to rely exclusively on schools to manage their children’s education for them. Religion, Latin, and Greek were mostly cut from schools for Generation X. Shop, home economics, music, and arts were largely axed from schools for Millennials. Basic computer skills, classic literature, and penmanship are almost completely ignored by those teaching Zoomers. What knowledge will public schools rob from the next generation? When will parents realize that their kids deserve better and that the government is incapable of providing what they promise—let alone what their children deserve? The ignorance continues to compound leaving every generation less capable than the last. Where is the eighteen year-old American public school graduate who can perform basic car service, balance their bank account, recite a short poem from memory, exercise elementary understanding of a language other than the one(s) with which they were raised, make music, operate simple tools, type with more than just their thumbs, cook a meal without using a microwave, care for a plant or animal without the supervision of another adult, recognize their civil rights and civic responsibilities, catch a reference to at least one book over 100 years old, and sign their name in something other than chicken scratch? What is going to be left in twenty years other than waves of screen-flicking, know-nothing, thoughtless tax units? Do your kids a favor and take their education into your hands before it’s too late.

Housewife tip:
Have the mindset of everything with a place, and everything in its place! It really does make a huge difference to have everything neatly sorted away.
