Grandfather's clock
"Clocks were invented to tell what time it is and not what time it has been or will be." I recall my grandfather's words as he looked at his old clock in his fragile hours. The clock had struck 12 and it rang an alarm. As if it was a sign that only my grandpa noticed. A sign that it's his time now. And he vanished. Vanished like the silence in an old house at the 12th bell.
My grandfather's clock had a pendulum...
That swing to and fro without a pause for a slumber.
It just went tick tok tick tok the whole time...
The only sound after my grandma's voice,my grandpa was fond of.
My grandfather's clock was a huge fine piece of wood.
Which he said was a gift to him by his father.
A loving child he was though a foster.
He treasured it more than himself.
More than the books on his shelf.
My grandfather spent his days in favorite chair...
With a book in his hand and the clock in his stares...
He'd go back in his childhood days...
When he was just a boy with zero care...
The clock has been a friend in despair.
Because grief and joy with the clock he shared...
It had witnessed a timid boy grow into a man...
A man who had treasured it and it's hands.
The clock,my grandfather said was the most faithful one.
It never took breaks. It startled everyone.
It never had a frown on it's face...
Did it's work at a constant pace.
Just one plea it had throughout it's life...
To be wound once in a week's time.
My grandfather did it with utmost devotion...
For it was his desire to see it in motion.
Now they all lay together in the grave yard.
My grandfather in midst with grandma and the clock on his sides.
Just the way he wanted to lay down ...
With both his happy thing and a love song.

We all are lost kids like Peter Pan...
And we all are curious like Alice in Wonderland...
We jump on our ships and travel till we tan...
Until we hit the shore and find our sand.
