Sage Sohier chronicled the love of gay couples in the 1980s in her collection At Home With Themselves. Spurred by the AIDS crisis and the media representations of promiscuity and disease in the community, the project aimed to dispel stereotypes about gay love and showcase lesbian and gay couples of all ages, backgrounds and proclivities, capturing a visual that often went unseen.
“I was interested in how, as a culture, we weren’t used to looking at two men touching, and was struck by the visual novelty yet total ordinariness of these same-sex relationships. The visual ambiguity of same-sex relationships also intrigued me: were these sisters or friends or lovers or a mother and daughter?“
The photographic endeavor was also prompted by Sohier’s father. The book is dedicated to him and his partner Lee.

Oh my god I have never seen a feminist so perfectly describe and analyze romance fiction. Maybe more older radfems are based and Get It but I'm sorry, most younger rads don't get this at all cause they have no exposure to this shit.

Why do libfem femme lesbians flirt by saying they want to do my makeup, it has happened so many times, sis I’ve done my own makeup for my whole life and I don’t anymore for several reasons and none of them is inability, if you’re just curious how i would look like there are old pics of me on my instagram, but please stop, the least sexy thing you could say to a gnc woman is “it would be so nice if you conformed to gender again!”

Seeing transwomen on that mtf subreddit regard shit like pouting, batting eye lashes, placing your hand on your chest, rubbing your thighs together, biting your lip and blah blah to female mannerisms is no different to those stunted transmen essentially replacing majority of their typical daily movements with junko posing ☠️.
So exaggerated and performative. Just live girl!!

Saying misandry isn’t bad or isn’t a problem is like saying that just because there are more red bricks than black bricks in the world, getting a black brick thrown at you won’t hurt.

Tumblr media
I feel a lot more emotional and cry easier, but more than likely, it's just because of changing hormone levels, lol, but it's definitely noticeable

This is actually such an interesting thing to witness now that I'm looking back on the stark reactions to hogwart's legacy and the fnaf movie.
It is embarrassing how there are others who have still not understood J.K. Rowling's words and to hide the fact they cannot grasp her very clear meaning they twist and lie about what she has actually said, or instead they tell someone to "just google it" because they know they do not have an actual argument. If you were confident she had said or done something 'bigoted' you'd be able to simply explain it yourself.

When I was in domestic abuse support groups over on Facebook I quickly noticed that there were a lot of abusive men in it. They claimed to be victims of course. In fact they were convinced to be. They had read up on "narcissistic abuse" and truly believed that their partner or ex was one. In the group I'd see a daily flood of women describing the most horrid shit and the trauma inflicted on them. But men's most common complaint was that their wives had been "withholding sex" which really is a form of abuse they said. Another way these men suffered from domestic abuse was through being dumped. They described a woman leaving them as a form of abuse. So two of the most common ways men are abused are... by women exercising their own free will. Obviously when men describe abuse in such a way you know they are abusive. For example, the complaints about "withholding sex" as abusive are admissions of attempted rapes through coercion and guilt tripping.
Another way women abuse men is by letting them do chores of course. One kept spamming about it, taking before and after pictures of the dishes he did while his obviously mentally unstable cruel bitch of a wife was playing with the kids. I screenshoted everything and sent it to her. And yet another fascinating post was this man, obviously another victim, who saw his ex's new boyfriend while driving and decided to follow him, as victims do. He followed him for a long while, as victims do, before the new boyfriend supposedly parked near a motel where he met a woman. Our victim parked too and watched with glee as his ex was being cheated on. When I pointed out that, no, this is not what victims do and that he was telling on himself by describing how he follows people like a creep he cried that I wasn't allowed to question him because it's a safe space for victims and it's against the rules call a moderator please help etc. That's the thing with these groups: men go in there to feel vindicated and they are. Women immediately approve and help men pathologise women based on nothing and certainly not actual descriptions of abuse. The women don't realise that they are helping a man abuse a woman. Hundreds of comments calling a woman a narcissist and the man feeling justified in taking revenge on that woman. And me being told I'm too mean.
But you know what men write the most about in those groups? How we talk too much about women being abused and not enough about men. It upsets them to see women being listened to. And again, women approve by the hundreds, "yes poor men, women can be just as evil" and on and on, ironically disproving what men are claiming: men are not ignored, they are taken way too seriously as a matter of fact.
This guy posted about being abused again, how he "fell for it" once more, how he "should have known better". He had met a woman and she had "used" him you see. Cue to the choral of women offering him support without questions. So I asked one: how did she use you? He responded that, well, she didn't really use him per say, she asked him for help, he helped, she thanked him and that was it. They weren't dating. He had met a random woman and helped her and she hadn't offered him anything in return (like her vagina, you know) she had just thanked him and that's abuse. Imagine that. Traumatised women describing really disturbing and upsetting events and men whining about women not being on their hands and knees. And both sides cohabiting in one group under the pretense that one is not oppressing the other because "domestic abuse has no gender".

"Women only started working very recently so a woman's place is the house-" shut up and feast your eyes at old photos of women from around the world doing physical labor only for them to return home and solely care for 5-10 children and the elderly parents of their husband.
Greek women represent:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These photos show Greek women doing the type of physical labor they would perform more often than not. At the luckiest working conditions for rural women (aka most of the country) they would start working the fields as children and when they got older they would work the same fields with their own babies on their backs.
On the way home from the fields, sometimes the women would carry the wood and the mule would carry the man so he could rest.
Of course, we can talk about the manual labor that is rubbing cloth and metal for hours on end, chopping and carrying wood to light a fire for a large cauldron your size, and stirring it for hours.
But we can also talk about how it wasn't for them to break and carry rocks in baskets for the making of new roads. They would gather salt, olives, and grapes and carry them on large baskets filled to the brim. For salt they carried thirty kilos each trip, doing fifty trips each, stepping shoeless on the grains of salt.
Carrying water was also their job, often moving large barrels with all the water a house of 10 needed upon hills that horses and mules had trouble ascending.

(more photos for salt mining and carrying here)
It's no hyperbole to say these women carried their incomes and households on their backs. "The good she-housekeeper is a slave and a lady" the old Greek saying goes. A "good woman" was a woman who could be strong and work at home and in the field, often described with the qualities of a mule. Men took their wives out in the fields so much that some who were a bit more educated had to make their husbands sign that they wouldn't ask them to work alongside them in the fields! (source in Greek)
Some of these photos are also from 1970. I'm missing a photo from Leukada showing women carrying baskets of the stones they broke, and I'll add it here when I find it.
Basically, women were out of the house forever. A woman who got to stay home and never perform any labor had some type of privilege (wealth, status etc). Same as the many privileged men around the world who didn't perform any labor at all.

when people are porn sick they literally think sex is just like...play acting out kinks. that is what sex is. if you are "anti-kink" you are a sexless prude. anything that happens in the bedroom IS kink in their eyes. sex is broken down into micro actions, each performative and each a kink. do you have an intercourse kink? do you have a kiss on the mouth kink? do you like to do it standing up kink? can the lights be on kink? like shut the FUCK up and be normal for once

examples of EXTREMIST beliefs in radical feminism
-baby girls don’t come out of the womb liking the color pink
-lesbains shouldn’t be expected or encouraged to sexually interact with penises
-women’s bodies don’t exist for consumption
-a billion dollar industry built on poor self esteem that lines the pockets of wealthy white men isn’t feminist
-females are oppressed, not femininity
-gender is learned and enforced, not innate
-women deserve full bodily autonomy
-abusing women even in a sexual context is bad???
-people’s actions don’t exist in a vacuum and they are influenced by society
-gender nonconforming women aren’t men or have masculine privilege
