Cora: Oh no, I sleep like a rock, you definitely did not wake me up. An hour works, it'll give me time to lay around for another twenty minutes. Are we meeting at that diner down the street from the studio?
Cami: That sounds perfect! They have the best (that's dramatic it's just really, really good) milkshakes... Even though its breakfast...

Cami: Sorrrrry! I usually get up around 5:30 to spend some time with my personal trainer, hope I didn't wake you!! Yesss, okay I thought I honestly had more time so maybe I could get ready and meet you somewhere in an hour? Or is that still too early?

corxmarrero:
“I’m always here to talk then,” she smiled. She’d never thought of herself as being someone that others could look up to. Never the guru type with a mouth too vulgar to impart advice that wasn’t laced with profanity, Cora saw herself as someone who could be relatively helpful for tips but never the one giving the actual advice. But, somehow, her artistic style allowed her to be just that. “You aren’t missing much on Instagram, believe me,” Cora laughed. “Unless you’re into seeing extremely fit people sipping their green smoothies on remote islands.” At least, that was what she always seemed to be met with when she opened the app. She probably would cut back on her usage too if she wasn’t so into photography and documenting everything she liked in one easy place. It was a trade off, since anyone who wanted to could also see everything that was important to her or had caught her eye.
It made sense, and it was essentially what she was doing, only to a greater extent. “I’m not as brave as you think,” she ran a hand through her hair, a smile playing on her lips. She was just very good at faking it. In reality, she didn’t know what she was doing half the time and when she did, it was purely instinctual. “Well, even if you are, it’s working,” she chuckled, nudging the other girl playfully. Even if she was confident in her own work, reassurance of its success from one of her peers was definitely encouraging. Knowing that she would have to be getting back to work soon, she blurted, “We should hang out sometime.” She wanted to ask before they were interrupted and, knowing herself, she wouldn’t be able to get herself to text the blonde later. This was pretty much her only chance unless they bumped into each other at an award show several months down the line. “We could grab a coffee or something, y'know, when you aren’t too busy,” she awkwardly explained, sending another hand through her hair. The action usually calmed her, but not knowing what the blonde would say kept it from having its usual affect.
"Damn, I’m missing all of that?!” The blonde gasping in exaggeration as she teasingly spoke, “And here I thought I was missing true freedom of speech- isn’t it funny how we as a generation are so obsessed with an application that’s literally based upon people being vein enough to believe other need to see them everyday so they post themselves?” She asked almost rhetorically because sometimes realizations such as this one blew her mind. It was strange to think that just a decade ago all these privileges of theirs didn’t exist. “Twitter and Instagram give me headaches, I do believe Snapchat is where it’s at but I could be bias to the filters.” She giggled sipping at the last of her tea before disposing it into the trash to her side rocking back on her heels the smile dissolving away as she nibbled at her bottom lip gently. “What do you think the world would be like if somehow Instagram just blacked out? I think everyone would freak out.”
Camille shook her head but not as if she were trying to offend the girl before her, she just heard her music and it was so real. She was envious of how Cora was able to reach this place that she just couldn’t break though to and open herself up- even if she didn’t believe so, to the world and let them see herself. “I think you don’t give yourself enough credit as to what you’re doing. Your music is really amazing and your voice is just.. Reaches me- people, a lot of people.” She quickly corrected with a stutter to punctuate the rosy hue of her cheeks. Giggling she reached over to gently push back at the other before perking up as the other girl mentioned possibly hanging out once more. “That would be, I would love that.” She nodded quickly biting down upon her bottom lip once more to hide the smile threatening to split over her features. “I’ll text you? We could definitely catch a coffee.” She reassured the girl her fingers dancing along the wrapper of the honey-bun within her grasp.

corxmarrero:
“I did,” Cora lightly laughed, shaking her head as the girl stumbled over her words. “And it’s definitely not insanely upbeat, it’s real. It’s not solely looking to top the charts— if you don’t mind my saying that. I didn’t mean to make an assumption about your work.” She didn’t want to insult the other by dismissing her prior works, not by any means, but there was an emotion with the EP that she hadn’t felt with the other album, so much so she’d admittedly listened to the new material over ten times. A grin spread across her lips at the admission. “I knew it, always nice to know my efforts are appreciated.” Nicknames were sort of her thing and she liked to make sure that whoever was on the receiving end liked theirs. Plus, she found this one to be especially clever.
Cora nodded along with Camille’s words. She appreciated the positive spin the blonde was putting on what had become the brunette’s reality. To go from attending a small high school in Florida where no one really treated her any differently to Los Angeles where everyone and their mother seemed to be interested in her every move. “Yeah, I guess I am flattered that people get paid to write little blurbs about my trips to the gym or grocery store. Free publicity,” she chuckled. It definitely made running errands feel more important. And hearing about the blonde’s own pressures and expectations due to her relation to Disney made her feel less isolated by it all. “It does, and I’d say you’re doing a pretty good job of keeping your life away from the camera flashes. This career is so insane cause you want to be able to say ‘fuck it’, which I do almost every day, but you can’t because if you actually do disregard them your career is practically over. People’s opinions make or break your success and that’s just a really… screwed up system. Cora was beaming when the subject of preordering was raised. “One preorder is more than I had an hour ago.” While it was always nice to receive praise and reassurance from her team, it felt different receiving it from someone who wasn’t profiting from her success. Someone who was just supporting her to support her, and who also happened to have a good ear for music.
"Oh, no.. I’m sorry I just..” Pausing for a moment she rolled her lips tightly over one another before exhaling a soft huff, “I don’t understand my sound yet? I know I want to make something that means something but I don’t know how to?” She admitted her tone softening as if she were almost scared the room down the hallway would hear her truth; Camille was tried of putting out that cookie cutter Disney approved music for children. On the brink of young adulthood she wasn’t too keen on the topic of best-friends and first loves, it was all becoming too cliche. “I appreciate your input, really there’s no offence it’s just really nice to be able to actually speak with someone who’s more experienced with laying themselves on the line with their music.” The blonde spoke softly her cheeks warming as she dared move her eyes up to make contact with the opposite.
“That’s a good way of thinking about it, plus your fans like knowing what you’re doing. The gym gives you a healthy outlook and, well, grocery shopping is important too.” She giggles softly but as Cora spoke it began to fade off replaced with a somewhat solemn expression. Growing up in the spotlight wasn’t always easy, she couldn’t exactly go play with the neighborhood kids and speaking of children they could be rather cruel when they were jealous. Homeschooling become her normal life and before she knew it she was that girl on Disney waving around a stick to remind people what channel they were watching. “It’s better to keep all of yourself private rather than just pieces, I know the fans don’t like it that way- especially since I wasn’t really much of a hoot on Blossom and I haven’t been very active on Instagram but it’s honestly better.” She admitted a soft smile gracing her features. “I don’t mean to hide all aspects of myself, especially with my nerdy side but I feel like if I let them know that I’m opening up the doors to a lot of other things about myself. I have a lot more ‘fuck-it’ days than you would believe I just wish I was a little more brave, like you. Unapologetic about who you are.” It was like a light was switched on within the brunette as her expression grew leading to the blonde to mirror the same smile almost contagiously. “I highly doubt within the past hour a single pre-order was all you received; your music is amazing and from the little clips I’ve heard this album is going to be chart topping. And no, I’m not just saying that to get on your good side.” She teased with a small chime of laughter.

Cora grinned when she agreed, “That might be the nicest thing anyone’s ever said to me.” She took a lot of pride in her dorkiness, so anything relating to it brightened her day significantly. “On the contrary, I think you could be funk pop enough for a band. Or at the very least a guitarist.” Cora could see the other girl with a guitarist, maybe a bassist too. “I know you did, don’t try to fight it,” she smirked, knowing the girl had never been fond of the nickname. She, however, thought it was clever and didn’t have any plans of coming up with a new one. Not unless Camille explicitly asked her to.
She nodded along with Camille’s description of her schedule and, while she thought that she was busy, the blonde’s day’s sounded far more chaotic. Cora had no idea how she handled it all. “Yeah, the whole papers thing still seems fucking crazy to me,” she shrugged when her own pursuits were brought up. "I didn’t get to this level with Talent so it’s a little weird, but I’m adjusting. People stop me for pictures now,” she laughed. That probably seemed like a normal thing to the blonde but the raven-haired girl was still stunned by it. She just happened to be good enough at acting calm for her fans to not label her a weirdo. “I wasn’t sure how the album would go when I first started on it after Blossomed ended, but I actually really like what its become. Hopefully it’s not too shitty.” Yeah, she hadn’t exactly perfected the art of limiting her vulgarity. Her manager hated it and her brother thought it was hilarious; she swore one day she was going to drop the f-bomb on Sesame Street or something.
Camille smiled softly, the dimples imprinting alongside her lips as she nibbled at the inside of her cheek nervously shaking her heads gently, “Oh, no! I don’t think I’m hardcore enough if I’m being honest.” She protested with a soft giggle, “I dunno if you heard my EP- not that I expect you to have the time to do so.. I’m just saying I’m not exactly as upbeat- wait.. I-..” She huffed tripping along her words with a annoyed roll of her eyes. The blonde tried her best to find her sound, her first album was incredibly childish and upbeat, exactly what Disney wanted- totally rocked the charts but it wasn’t who she was. However, her EP was more serious a softer edge and it spoke truth to who she was but now with a blank slate she’s nervous as to who she was. Sticking out her tongue she childishly blew a raspberry before shaking her head with a playful roll of her eyes, “Maybe I missed it but only because it’s your pet name for me.” She admitted her tone softening but she laughed to shove off any flirtatious tone.
A part of the blonde genuinely felt bad for lying to Cora but at the same time she was quite embarrassed to admit she was up to nothing near as productive as the brunette. “I mean some of it must feel good- not seeing your face everywhere but at least knowing that people are interested and loving what you’re doing!” The blonde commented in efforts to make light of the fact that she’d seen quite a bit of the other recently through the tabloids. “That must be super crazy, it comes from being at this age where it’s almost like everyone is interested because this is a crucial age of fame. It’s one thing to grow up in the spotlight but now being young adults it’s almost like we have magnified glasses pointed at us.” She huffed sadly, faking a certain aspect of herself for the camera’s was something she was almost too used to doing. “From Disney until now it’s almost like everyone expects me to have that typical falling out but I’m trying my best to keep a calm mind and a private public life.. If that makes sense?” She chuckled trying to brush off the seriousness of the topic at hand. “I bet it’s amazing, you already have one pre-order when it comes to me, I mean if that helps?” She blushed slightly not wanting to seem too weird.

“Personally, I like to think conversations with me are better than Candyland, but I might be a little biased,” Cora laughed, raking a hand through her hair. Truthfully, she probably would have said she wasn’t busy even if she was needed to record an entire song right then. Unlike her other friends from the TV show, she didn’t feel entitled enough to text out of the blue. Scout and Hannah, sure, but not Camille. She could shower the former two in presents and proclamations of her love should she annoy them; that wasn’t the case with the latter. No, if she annoyed the blonde she would probably fall off the grid in embarrassment. So, needless to say, she was taking advantage of this occasion to simply talk in person when neither girl was busy. “They’re just mixing tracks in there. My drummer can wait for his chips.”
Taking into consideration the building’s temperature, she hummed in agreement as she slipped a couple of dollars into the machine. “Exactly, and then once we recovered we’d just get sick again because we’d have to come back for a rescheduled session. It’s a vicious cycle.” She keyed in the number-letter combination necessary to vend the requested chips and a granola bar for herself. "Speaking of recording and being in a freezer the industry calls a studio, how’s everything going, Mrs. Woods? Y’know, music and acting-wise?” She patted herself on the back for coming up with a decent question; it wasn’t the best, but she didn’t want to ask anything too personal or infringe on the girl’s privacy.
"Well I’d say conversations with you take place in places such as Middle Earth or off through the universe but nevertheless better than Candyland that is.” Camilla chirped her dimples deepening their impression into her cheeks as she make efforts to keep her cool. Although she would have liked to keep this conversation going for quite awhile she knew that within the next couple minutes it was quite possible for her to be dragged back into the studio for song writing and recording. It wasn’t like she didn’t enjoy the music but it all felt meaningless to a certain point, with all the fake relationships and false personalities wrapped up into a up temp pop album she was less than happy to produce. “Well even if he doesn’t appreciate it, I’m sure happy for the company. Studio life can get pretty boring when you’re just one name on the album. God knows, however, I’m not punk rock enough for a band.” She giggled.
“No wonder albums take years to produce; at first I thought it was solely based upon the fact that the music took years to write but I’m certain it’s because they have us artists sick as a dog rescheduling until the end of time.” The blonde joked taking a long sip of her tea in efforts to fight away the chill. Perking up she huffed rolling her eyes, “Okay, did not miss the pet name,” she teased before adding a haphazard shrug, “just actually started the album to be honest and since the big break from Blossom took up a load of my filming schedule I’ve been.. Uh, super busy.” She suddenly quipped out shaking her head with nervous laughter embarrassed of the true events. “Yeah, we just moved everything up and I’ve been filming for the show and writing music- auditions. Wow, it’s crazy.” She explained falsely hiding her shame with another sip of her tea. “Uh, what about you? Been seeing you in the papers lately, you’ve been quite the star.”

To say that Camille was the last person Cora expected to see at the studio was a slight overstatement. Sure, she knew that the other girl had an album she was working on —she may or may not have deleted more than a few texts to the girl after hearing the news on the radio— but at the same studio she was recording at? It made sense, with it being a fairly central building housing incredible equipment and all, but she was still surprised.
She couldn’t help but chuckle when she heard the girl’s exclamation, quirking a brow at the greeting. “Hey to you too,” Cora smiled, watching the now red girl. ”I’m not sure how much help the sweet snack Gods will be at taking you away, but those suckers will get you pretty damn close to sugary ecstasy.” She nodded at the honey bun.
It was a warm surprise to see the brunette but it seemed that the more they spoke the more she was accustomed to embarrassing herself. First the display of nerdiness she had in which she whole-heartedly fought for her love of Frodo to then passionately speaking of her obsession and knowledge of Doctor Who to where she stands now praying to imaginary food Gods. Her tongue poked out to wet her softly tinted lips a soft smile trying to recover from her embarrassment. “I was actually going for more of an alien-esk moment where I could just exclaim ’Beam me up Scotty!’ And be taken somewhere closely resembling Candyland.” The blonde teased with a softly giggle as she stepped aside in order to let the brunette more access to the machine.
“However, I guess I can just settle with a good conversation if you’re not much too busy.” She softly suggested leaning against the wall allowing the pasty to hang from her fingers as she focused her grasp on the warm beverage to keep her fingers warm. “You know they should probably keep this place a little less chilly, I get the booths can get a bit hot but the last thing we need is to get sick.” She casually commented an off-handed lame excuse to prolong the conversation with the brunette considering she’d been trying to do so since the show ended all of which settling in failure. Maybe she wasn’t the best at texting or keeping in contact but with Cora she just felt as if she might be an added annoyance considering all the things she had on her plate with the album.

“Sure Kyle, but when we’re done with this you’re buying me lunch,” Cora laughed, running a hand through her hair as she left the studio they were working in.
There was a vending machine at the end of the hall and, even though she’d convinced her mother that she was taking care of herself, she couldn’t remember a single day in the past month when her daytime diet had consisted of more than a venti iced coffee and some vended food. But, with her album being in the final stages of wrapping up and her single playing on the radio, the dietary sacrifice seemed to be worth it. What would also be worth it was the amount of food her drummer, Kyle, owned her after three weeks of bumming snacks off her.
Camille had to admit that in the short time since the show had abruptly ended she spent more than a majority of it sitting upon her couch snacking on various items catching up on Hulu shows. Not to say she wasn’t favorable to the Netflix binge but some days she’d had to brush out a nest of knotted hair from the back of her head making her take a cold shower upon the reality that had become her life. After a few long talks with her agents they decided to seize the day during the lulls between her filming, in which she was still supposed to be filming the reality show, and push her album forward.
It was the beginning stages of her Sophomore album and despite how excited she should have been about making music once more it all felt a bit inauthentic. Cupping the warm beverage between her fingers she pushed through the doors of the studio making her way down to the end of the hallway hungry for anything that wasn’t a salad or tea and honey. Grumbling to herself she jammed her petite finger against the machine coaxing a honey bun from the machine, “Oh sweet snack Gods take me away!” She exclaimed turning on her heels to freeze in spot her cheeks immediately inflaming as she set her eyes upon the brunette standing nearest her. “Son of a- Cora! I-I.. Heyyyyy!”

“She did have a weird thing about her, I honestly think half of my love for Ashildr has to do with how fucking incredible Maisie is as Arya. I wasn’t a huge book Arya fan, so it’s always surprising me how she’s one of my favorite characters on the show. After Sansa and Daenerys, of course,” Cora hummed, placing a dramatic hand on her heart at Camille’s words. “So poetic, I’m always flattered when I win wars I didn’t even know I was fighting.” Quirking brow, she weighed the actual chances of the actor’s return, finding that, with the new information, it wasn’t so farfetched. “I was not, and now I’ll never doubt the producers’ options again. I mean, Zack Snyder does have his Superman plot twist, so I guess anything’s possible.” It wasn’t necessarily a plot twist she was happy about, not by any means, but she couldn’t just refuse to acknowledge it. “But, if the writers do end up failing you, fanfiction should get you through the dark times. That, or rewatching old episodes.”
"Now that I can agree with, but we do have to take in account what being immortal and watching the entirety of your family line die out must feel like. She was cold because she was always there.” Camille expressed her expression saddening despite the fact that she knew she was just speaking of a fictional character. “Sansa was so under-rated though? Her character has one of the best arch’s and its quite the shame that people don’t pay more attention to it.” She expressed with a huff as she reached up to steady the hat resting atop her head rolling her eyes playfully at the dramatics the brunette was feigning. “It’s always so painful because your favorite characters are constantly being tugged about and before you know it poof!!” She exaggerated with an quick thrust of her fingers, “You favorite doctor is gone and there’s no hope for the future.” Sure she was being incredibly dramatic; despite not liking the doctor this season as much as the previous he had the good story line and arch so Camille was as disappointed as she was letting on. “Watching old episodes are always the best option but when you need that little bit more fanfiction is where it’s at.” She giggled.

“Doctor Who has it all, the nerdy men, the time travel, the casual Game Of Thrones crossover,” Cora mused. “Seriously, those episodes were incredible. I vote for bringing Maisie Williams on full-time, so long as it doesn’t interfere with her HBO commitments.” With the comment, she looked over at her amusedly. “I was wondering how long it’d take, you actually lasted longer than anticipated.” Now that she really noticed it, the other girl had a knack for going off on tangents about things. Maybe it was a nerd thing, because she was prone to doing the same when it came to Sherlock or Marvel. She gave an exaggerated sigh, frowning as she commiserated with the blonde, “You were cheated out of a whole fifty minutes of bow-ties and a not-creepy love for Clara. And now even if they did bring back Matt, which they probably never would, it wouldn’t be the same because Clara’s gone. It’s the price we pay as fans.”
"You’re talking about Ashildr, the girl that The Doctor made immortal. She’s amazing but also gives me the creeps it’s like you hate her character at times because she’s just frustrating but right at the same time. It’s incredibly confusing if I’m honest but I much prefer her as Arya Stark if I’m honest.” Camille nodded, Game of Thrones being a show she could openly and proudly be ecstatic and show her interest in. “A girl’s gotta know when she’s beaten but also not to give up when she’s still certain she’s lost the war- when it comes to you Cora I have lost.” She sighed shaking her head furrowing her brows as she took in the brunette’s expression. “But you don’t know that for sure, were you aware that our current doctor Peter Capaldi was in a previous Doctor Who episode in 2008 while while David Tennant was the show’s lead? It was entitled ‘The Fires of Pompeii’ so never, ever say they can’t bring Matt back! Plus you have to think of the cross-over episodes! It’s been done and can still be done again.. Maybe? Sure, Clara is gone- I don’t want to talk about that but there’s still hope... If I dream and read fanfiction...”

Cora couldn’t help the grin that spread across her lips at her reaction to the nickname and then it broadened with her response. “Huh, I didn’t even think about using heat stroke as a sort of truth serum, but now that you mention it, maybe I will take advantage of it. You read Doctor Who Graphic Novels too? You weren’t kidding, you really are a nerd,” she chuckled, slowing down so that the other girl didn’t have to walk quite as fast. “Does this mean you also watch the show, because I’m curious as to who your favorite doctor is?”
"There is nothing wrong with Doctor Who Graphic Novels! It satisfies the nerdy little girl in me but also the time travel nut at the same time. Plus, who can say no to nerdy men who are strangely attractive? Not me.” Camille giggled reaching up to adjust her hat thankful that the brunette began to slow down just for her sake. “I’ve come to terms with the fact that I can’t resist the urge to talk about my inner nerdyness any longer.” She sighed exasperatedly feigning dramatics as she placed a hand upon her forehead. “Of course it does?! Who doesn’t watch the show? If you don’t you’re a liar and cheating yourself from the glory that is the Eleventh Doctor a.k.a Matt Smith, a.k.a the love of my life coming in close ties with Frodo Baggins. Did you know the Eleventh Doctor had two less episodes than the Tenth?! How dare they rid me of my bow-ties and his love for Clara?!” She huffed clasping her hands together as she trudged forward. “My life is over, I can feel my heart tearing me apart for the two episodes that could have been.”

Just as Cora had hoped, Bora Bora was perfect for paddle boarding and she’d spent the last hour simply paddling around. There was something about sitting on a piece of fiberglass surrounded by crystal clear waters that enraptured her. Going back to Los Angeles waters would be hard. Just like going back to the shore was, but her arms were growing sore and she wasn’t looking to get a sunburn. Spotting a familiar blonde on her way back to her towel, Cora decided to make a detour. “Hey Mrs. Wood,” she called once she was close enough, board tucked under her arm. “Read or watch anything good lately?”
Camille loved the ocean, there was something just extraordinarily beautiful about the waters here in Bora Bora but her fear was almost crippling despite her knowledge telling her otherwise. She waded at the shores splashing about in the shallow water enjoying her time alone but she began feeling the effects of the intense exotic sun leading her to trudge back up the beach when she heard a familiar voice. “Hey- Oh, no!!” She huffed out her eyebrows furrowing as she snapped her head to the side a pout forming over her lips. “No, I haven’t.. Unless you considering the Doctor Who Graphic Novels but that’s not- you’re taking advantage of my heat stroke I know it!” She accused the brunette speeding up her pace to keep up with the girl.

"Sharks are curious by nature, okay? They have no arms so they nibble to see if you’re food! It’s honestly not their fault but seriously Jaw is a legitimate fear.” Camille expressed, her fear of sharks was some sort of contradiction because she loved them and wanted nothing more than to swim with them but she was too terrified to do so. Giggling she twisted from side-to-side sticking her tongue out loving that she was thoroughly confusing one of her best friends. “This is going to be the best time! I promise, we’re going to get our suits on and swim all night then get our moderate tan on tomorrow!”
