i grew up in france with my grandmother. she died when i was 12. i had to come back to the states, live with my uncle. i had to ride on the plane by myself because there was no one to...you know. and i didn't want to go. i mean, i didn't want to leave france because she...she didn't have any other family that lived there. i didn't want to leave her alone. i mean, she was dead, but...i was crying at the airport, and this nice lady bought me a soda. i told her what was wrong. and she--she said to me, they come with you when you go.

but let's discuss other people who would also be fucking BROKEN by tian chen's (ms. liu) death.

to begin, JADE. their relationship, their dynamic was so pure and it was such a son-mom sort of dynamic, or boy-auntie. i loved them so much snd i think jade would suffer.

second; sara. even though she's no longer welcomed and wanted anywhere, mostly by tian chen(!), she'd still suffer. as much as tian chen saw her as a daughter, i'm convinced she saw tian chen as a mother figure. she'd cry, she'd be hurt.

honorable mentions: ethan. that woman fed him and was always so sweet! he'd suffer. poor boy.

also the entire town anyway since she was the one feeding them. we all love tian chen.

I was hoping to get a bit of happy Kenny in season 3 but considering it's probably either his mom or Kristi who dies, I don't think we'll see a single smile on his face. 😓

Oh what the hell! Jade and Father Khatri woulda made an amazing couple! How have I only thought of it now 😭 RIP Father K.

RIGHT??? OMG I'm so happy I'm not the only one who sees it. I was rewatching the first Jade scenes from S1 and I swear Khatri's reaction to pretty guy Jade calling him beautiful while high was nothing like Boyd's or Kristi's, that man felt something LMAO. He was the one helping Jade get to Colony House under the rain too, and Khatri's story being all about guilt and regret and wanting to help others paired with Jade needing so much help and also actually being great at offering support once he gets close... the setup was so there.

It would have been so funny to have Khatri being the only one never complaining about Jade's antics and lowkey defending him and everyone thinking he's just got such a big heart you know? And he's just embarrassed to death trying to deal with his stupid crush and praying that no one will notice it. They would've been the ship of all time i'm so sad now.
