App of the Week!

My pick for “App of the Week” is Thinglist! This app provides an easy way to keep track of ideas, recommendations, and products. Consider it a virtual sticky-note organization app! When you want to make a note of something, click on the plus sign, add a name, and then choose the category that it fits under, like food, movie, or product. You can even add personal notes before you save. Then, when you want to find a note again, just filter by category to see what you've jotted down previously.

A little patron thought it would be funny to scare me with a turtle he found while walking to the library tonight. (The turtle was stashed in his backpack for the element of surprise) We decided it would be best to set it free :)

“If you’re trying to raise a reader, you need your library. It’s too expensive and somewhat wasteful to buy the hundreds of books a young reader goes through in those first years of learning to read.”

It's Feel Good Friday! (Giant Rubber Duckie Edition)

Alas, after a particularly stressful week, I'm not feeling super-good, but maybe this will help.
This week conceptual artist, Florentijin Hofman, introduced this inflatable Rubber Duck to Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong. The duck is almost 46 feet tall and pretty damn cute.
Hofman says, "The Rubber Duck knows no frontiers, it doesn't discriminate people and doesn't have a political connotation. The friendly, floating Rubber Duck has healing properties: it can relieve mondial tensions as well as define them. The rubber duck is soft, friendly and suitable for all ages!"

App of the Week!

My pick for “App of the Week” is iPetCare! This is one of my favorite organization apps, and a must have for pet owners! iPetCare lets users quickly and easily gather and browse medical, diet, and vaccination information for every furry family member.
I love having complete care information for my three dogs right at my fingertips!

I just wanted to be Kirby Puckett. If that wasn't going to happen, then I would have settled for playing baseball for the MN Twins WITH Kirby Puckett. Just Kirby Puckett.
Going through some old school papers, I found some pretty great career aspirations of mine. Some careers I had in mind? Interior designer, florist, marine biologist (only if I could work at the Shedd Aquarium though), famous singer, gymnast (for a hot second), French teacher, magician. The florist...

Where in the U.S. can you find the the biggest bibliophiles?
Amazon just reached into its mammoth pool of purchasing data to pull out its third annual list of cities in the U.S. where the “most well-read” among us apparently reside.
