               A PART OF HIM COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT IT'S BEEN FIVE YEARS, despite  being  the  only  one  who  knew  what  was  about  to  happen  ,  all  those  futures  he  witnessed  made  this  reality  feel  like  a  BLUR  ,  and  it  was  difficult  at  times  to  recognize  what  was  real  and  was  not  ,  and  the  sorcerer  certainly  did  not  wish  to  think  about  what  he  saw  or  been  through  ,  he  was  merely  glad  that  he  returned  to  the  Sanctum  ,  even  though  there  was  a  lot  of  things  he  needed  to  get  used  to  ,  Wong  tried  to  fill  him  in  on  all  that  he  may  have  missed  but  he  could  not  help  that  feeling  of  being  a  little  OUT  OF  PLACE  . however ,  on  the  bright  side  ,  the  roof  was  fixed  and  he  did  not  have  to  concern  himself  with  that  .

               It  had  only  been  a  few  days  since  his  return  ,  all  he  did  was  rest  for  he  was  positively  BEATEN  ,  of  course  resting  was  not  something  common  with  Stephen  Strange  but  even  he  knew  that  he  needed  it  at  some  point  .  Today  was  the  day  when  he  planned  to  resume  his  duties  as  sorcerer  supreme  but  there  was  not  much  to  do  ,  no  one  sensible  enough  would  DARE  wreak  havoc  in  the  universe  after  all  the  damage  caused  by  Thanos  ,  everyone  was  glad  to  have  their  loved  ones  back  ,  and  that  made  him  think  of  her .

               He  had  been  thinking  about  Christine  all  this  while  ,  he  thought  of  her  when  he  could  not  say  goodbye  ,  he  wished  to  see her  but  he  did  not  have  the  NERVES  to  do  so  ,  maybe  out  of  fear  that  she  wouldn't  want  anything  to  do  with  him  ,  this  was  not  the  first  time  he  ever  DISAPPEARED  on  her  and  he  hated  himself  for  it  .  Although  it  was  awfully  idiotic  of  him  to  think  that  she  wouldn't  make  the  first  move  ,  it  hadn't  even  crossed  his  mind  that  it  was  her  who  came  knocking  on  the  door  .

            ❛❛ Christine...❞    he  froze  in  his  place  ,  dumbfounded  by  the  sight  of  her  walking  in  ,  and  his  heart  beat  RAPIDLY  in  his  chest  when  her  gaze  fell  upon  him  .  He  would  be  lying  if  he  said  that  he  was  not  glad  to  see  her  ,  but  could  not  give  any  proper  reaction  due  to  his  SURPRISE  ,  there  was  so  much  he  wanted  to  say  but  he  did  not  know  if  whether  she  was  angry  or  HURT  by  him  . Her  embrace  however  told  him  otherwise  and  he  did  not  hesitate  to  wrap  his  arms  around  her  as  tight  as  he  could  .

            ❛❛ I'm  sorry— I'm  so  sorry. ❞    he  apologized  as  he  held  her  close  to  him  ,  only  letting  go  when  she  felt  like  she  could  ,  he  then  couldn't  help  but  to  chuckle  a  little  as  he reached  to  wipe  her  tears  away    ❛❛ Hey...❞

             SHE MUST HAVE BEEN TOO WEARY TO EVEN CONSIDER REFUSING HIS OFFER,  but  that  had  been  a  good  thing  for  once  ,  Anna  was  working  hard  and  she  deserved  a  break  and  some  well  deserved  rest  .  Stephen  was  determined  to  pull  her  out  of  all  PILES  of  books  she  surrounded  herself  with  ,  he  would  carry  her  if  it  came  down  to  that  ,  but  luckily  the  girl  was  SENSIBLE  ,  she  rarely  gave  him  any  kind  of  trouble  in  the  first  place  .

          ❛❛ You  can  continue  tomorrow  if  you'd  like ❞    He  said  ,  taking  the  notebook  she  handed  him  and  standing  up  as  well  in  case  she  needed  a  little  help  reaching  her  room  ,  and  apparently  she  was  not  planning  on  bothering  herself  with  walking  as  she  THREW  herself  on  the  nearest  sofa  she  was  able  to  find    ❛❛ Goodness sake  ,  she's  worse  than  I  am.❞    The  sorcerer  couldn't  help  but  to  chuckle  slightly  before  letting  his  cloak  float  over  and  drape  itself  over  Anna  .

             He  had  barely  taken  a  couple  of  steps  away  but  soon  came  to  a  halt  as  his  eyes  fell  upon  the  notes  in  his  hand  ,  he  knew  these  symbols  very  well  ,  and  he  certainly  did  not  ask  Anna  to  study  those  first  ,  and  so  it  did  not  take  him  long  to  UNDERSTAND  what  they  were  all  about    ❛❛ Who  do  you  need  protection  from  ,  Anna ??  ❞    he  thought  quietly  to  himself  ,  unable  to  stop  himself  from  WORRYING  ,  Stephen  made  the  decision  to  stay  ,  The  eye  of  Agamotto  would  alert  him  if  someone  tried  to  trouble  the  girl  .

            HE COULD FEEL HIS HEART BREAKING FOR SEEING HER LIKE THIS, Anna  showed  so  much  of  herself  in  a  moment  of  weakness  ,  what  he  heard  troubled  and  SADDENED  him  ,  he  knew  Anna  well  by  now  ,  and  she  certainly  did  not  deserve  such  treatment  from  her  own  mother  ,  the  mention  of  her  alone  FRIGHTENED  the  poor  girl  and  perhaps  that  is  why  he  chose  not  to  ask  much  about  her  past  ,  it  was  best  to  let  her  take  all  the  time  she  needed  so  she  can  gather  the  COURAGE  to  come  to  terms  with  her  old  life  .

           The  sorcerer  shook  his  head  upon  her  apology  ,  not  giving  a  reply  yet  as  he  tucks  her  in  ,  then  sit  on  the  edge  of  the  bed  beside  her    ❛❛ Hush  now.❞    he  whispered  and  leaned  to  press  a  kiss  on  the  top  of  her  head    ❛❛ Rest  ,  and  I  will  be  right  here  beside  you  ,  you  are  safe  here  ,  I  promise.❞

                IT WAS AWFULLY SWEET OF HER TO TAKE THE TIME TO KEEP HIM COMPANY.   sure  ,  she  was  not  as  busy  as  he  was  ,  she  did  not  have  to  concern  herself  with  worrying  about  a  dimensional  attack  or  anything  of  that  sort  ,  but  she  was  KIND  enough  to  worry  about  him  when  others  would  leave  him  be  ,  the  BURDENS  of  the  sorcerer  supreme  were  meant  for  him  alone  after  all  ,  but  this  was  a  PLEASANT  change  .     ❛❛ Thank  you  , Anna.❞    he  voiced  his  gratitude  with  a  smile  reflecting  her  own  .

                Blue  hues  shift  to  gaze  at  the  starry  sky  above  ,  the  night  was  silent  and  peaceful  ,  the  stars  often  brought  him  CONSOLATION  and  for  that  reason  he  was  up  here  ,  there  was  something  comforting  in  knowing  that  there  are   other  worlds  out  there  ,  more  knowledge  he  could  obtain  ,  more  LIFE  .  He  could  go  on  sitting  like  this  all  day  if  it  was  not  for  the  sudden  question  from  the  girl  .

             ❛❛ My  life...❞     Stephen  paused  momentarily  as  if  to  think  of  a  PROPER  reply  ,  it  had  been  a  long  time  since  he  looked  back  and  remembered  ,  not  because  he  did  not  wish  to  ,  but  because  it  felt  like  his  past  life  was  a  LIFETIME  ago    ❛❛ I  was  a  Doctor  ,  quite  the  famous  one  actually...❞    he  began    ❛❛ Hospitals  flew  me  halfway  around  the  world  to  preform  the  most  delicate  procedures  ,  I  saved  lives  no  one  else  could  ,  And  when  I  wasn't  working  I'd  spent  my  time  at  medical  convention  or  parties  I  was  invited  to  ,  I  am  not  bragging  ,  I  loved   being  a  Doctor  but I  don't  wish  to  return  to  those  days...❞

             Finally  after  and  a  moment  he  approached  his  apprentice  ,  he  took  hold  of  the  book  in  her  hand  and  then  wrapped  his  arms  around  her  in  a  WARM  embrace  ,  Stephen  was  not  the  SPONTANEOUS  sort  of  people  ,  but  he  wished  to  express  how  much  he  LOVED  the  girl  as  if  she  was  his  own  daughter  .
