Let’s End Fake News, Ask Me How

Fake news is a news wherein real-life events and factual informations are being distorted and becomes misleading. Usually, the person who disseminates false informations hides its personal identity whose primary objective is to influence the public with untruthful informations.
Back in the old days, when people got their news mainly from papers, magazines, radio and television, it was generally easy to figure out when someone was pulling your leg. The internet has become the go-to source of news of most people nowadays. Everyone can access the internet but not everyone has the ability to determine whether the news that they have read are true or untruthful. Mostly, people who are being victimized by fake news are those who don’t have enough knowledge about it.
As a communication student, who will be working in the media industry soon, truth for us shall be precious for we will be serving the public years from now. An action must be done. I have some nifty tips on how to determine whether the news you are reading are accurate or not. First, know well your source. Make sure, you know exactly who provided a certain information you are reading. Next, think of yourself as a reporter, be cautious of what you share online especially news. Mostly, the people who follow you, are reading what you have shared and after all, they probably take you at your word. Lastly, you yourself should be careful of what you post or share online for you are responsible of all the consequences that might follow.
