One of my old posts for unsolicited criticism on fanfiction has been getting a lot of notes again, so I guess it's that time of year where I remind the masses:
DO NOT leave unsolicited criticism on a fanfiction.
If it's unsolicited, it's unwelcome! If it's unwelcome, you're being rude!
DON'T BE RUDE.

A different kind of drawing inspired by a note poem I made today (you may call it a vent piece)
Make me a choker out of a rose
I will smell good
As I am struggling to breathe.
I will smile
meanwhile thorns punctuate the soft flesh of my neck
And it will still be a lesser evil
Than my mind has in store for me.
Drive me over.
Make me into roadkill.
I lay bleeding, rotting, life cut short midscream.
Let me be the deer head over your door frame
I have practiced the dead stare.
Hunt me for sport,
Make me run for my life.
Show me what I am good for,
If I am good for anything at all,
Dead or alive.
Play me the broken record:
"The greatest hits of my mistakes"
I am a cliché without the reward
"The tortured artist" but where's the artistry?
You gatekeep the creativty
that should be the payoff
for this misery.
But I keep on going
I'm too stubborn for everything else
If I wait through the storm
I might see a rainbow form.

Gig repport: Joker Out at Logomo august 15 2025
Joker Out at Logomo, August 15 2025
Going to the logomo queue were a weird experience. In some ways it was great and in others it was frustrating. The venue decided to try to give out official numbers starting from 6.30 am Friday morning and then rushed us out afterwards hoping we’d only be back around 5 pm. That meant when I after half sleeping all night went to the queue a little after 6 am I was already number 85 in the queue. It was a bit of a hectic half an hour where I ran down the line giving out stickers but what really threw me off was the contrast between before and after the queue opened: since everybody went home after the numbers it suddenly felt like the day was way too long and too empty.
My autistic butt was not a fan of having my plans of hanging out with friends changed this late so after a good breakfast and a failed nap I found myself honestly lost. When wandering around in my own self pity for a few hours didn’t help I was relieved to be contacted by Anniina (@formulalakana ) about trying our luck going back to the venue at 1 pm. My day turned back around to great when we weren’t kicked out and instead could hang out in area with other fans as I’d hoped. To me half of the fun of gigs are the amazing fan interactions and merch trade traditions and I am happy to say that in the end this turned out to be quite an enjoyable queue. And it only got better when we started lining up since those of us with a number were welcomed in 20 minutes before everybody else to be put in a line by the staff in numbers and so invited in 50 people at a time and no running. This is definitely in my top 3 of best organized queues from the staff side of things for this reason …. And not only because I ended up with a second row spot.
Pilvet Pilvet opened up as they’d done at the See You Soon tour which was my first two times seeing Joker Out live. Not sure if this one and a half year has made them better performers and/or if I was just more in the mood for their music but I actually liked them way more this time around. It was nice getting to sing happy birthday for keyboardist Milan and having Roope the rubber duck on stage was really cute.
It seemed that Joker Out must really have missed Finland since they got on stage 10 minutes before time! I honestly thought it was a test of sound and light but then I saw the band with Kris in front running in from backstage and that was all I needed to start crying … seems like I also missed them too!
The boys – especially Bojan – had huge smiles on their faces all night and he seemed even more talkative than usual having many cute little speeches in-between either prompted or not.  Some prompted examples are the many signs in the audience where Bojan actually made it his thing to respond to as many as possible. Sometimes the reaction would be small like with my ‘I like Bojan and Käärijä = release the song soon?’ sign that got a ‘I like you too’ comment. Sometimes he’d be going on a tangent like with this one sign saying ‘I am not going to a concert I am going home’ where Bojan started talking about how happy he is about getting to Finland, how he misses the ‘welcome to Hel’ sign in the airport but that to him it doesn’t really fit since this place is more like heaven than hell to him anyways. Venus from Sweden even got a clearish cut answer when the upcoming bojere song (this was before we knew the title of Tuu Mun Luo) would probably arrive = within this year. Other times Bojan would grasp gifts from the crowd, most probably famous example arriving after Bojan made the entire audience say ‘we miss you Jere’ and Bojan then spotted a Bojere drawing in the crowd having Vita get it for him. Speaking of that Jere speech, that was entirely unprompted – one of a few completely out of left field ones! Other such speeches included Bojan sharing the Kiki-accidentally-made-our-song-go-viral story of SBJ (and made Vita promise the two people filming and sharing the video of Kultuuritalo a merch bundle) and a heartfelt speech about standing together in hard times before Novi Val. Oh and another thing I really admired Bojan for was to stop and making breathing exercises with us when a fan was having a hard time in the crowd. Many brownie points for that gesture.
But the concert were not only Bojan yaps however- we also got tons of great music of course. I feel like I have an odd sort of luck that makes it so I chose the concerts where the band WILL play SSOL since it is now my third time I believe that they have told the crowd that they’ll play a song they haven’t in a while and it has turned out to be SSOL. I don’t complain (a lot) about it since I find it to be a wonderful live song – the only thing I may be a bit sad about is that it wasn’t ASTP (a song I still haven’t caught live). The rest of the set was good too. Songs like Gola, Demoni (with scream), Plastika, Tokio, Katrina and Ona are always nice to hear and I was pleasantly surprised to find Barve Oceana on the setlist as well. It was so cute seeing Bojan being blown away that we knew the lyrics of Vse Ka Vem (that was definitely a highlight as well), and even tho the Umazane Misli was long as always I found quite a lot of fun versions in this karaoke round … or maybe mostly just the fact that we got a kazoo version! That in itself was great for me since I was only two people away so I got a good kazoo solo AND a smiling Bojan right in my face (although the latter didn’t look at me). I also ended up helping two people behind me gift Bojan a little rotating discoball toy and he looked in my eyes so confused for a few seconds I didn’t have any explanation for him – only later did I realise I could’ve giving him a print with the discoball but another time!
The whole set ended up taking so long that the sound guys cut the sound to Kris’ guitar during Novi Val so Bojan made us ‘just pretend we could hear it [the guitar].’ If that doesn’t say something about how excited the guys – and in return us – were about being here and party together I don’t know what does. The begging for an encore afterwards was also the most persistent one I’ve been a part of for a while. The security itself had to get on stage and say no (I had a feeling if they hadn’t Joker Out might have actually said screw the rules and played more).
But at the end we had to say goodbye. The people in front of me got a setlist (after I’d borrowed them a sharpie to make a sign to ask for said setlist) and for a minute I had a pick from Jan in my bag since he’d thrown it to somebody next to me but missed (I of course gave it to the person).
For once I didn’t buy a shirt but instead went for a hat, a sketchbook and some picks to go with the one Bojan gave me in Zagreb.
Amazing first Joker Out show of the year – very much looking forward to November now.
BONUS story – Turku during night of the art.
I arrived to Turku Thursday evening which turned out to be night of the art in the city. It was really lovely seeing all the little pop up stages and booths were local artists sold their crafts. I myself met up with @icbimakb and went to see Posankka before fooling around on a playground and drawing a bit for each other. I was also very happy to get to tag along meeting Icbi’s friends at a local bar and becoming a sort of honorary member of that friendgroup. Loved how our conversation went to childhood nostalgia and memories while waiting for folded ice cream. Thank you so much again for keeping me company <3.

Gig report: Supersunnuntai, Espoo august 17 2025
Supersunnuntai, august 17 2025
Given I had already travelled to Finland to see Joker Out two days before I went to Supersunnuntai after Tapiola Festivaali in Leppävara, Espoo last Sunday. The day started out real nice with two people outside of the festival complimenting my outfit – one was a lady speaking to me in only finnish (I got from context she was excited about something about my appearance) and another was a dad joking asking me why I was here [on the street] and not on stage.
After a small hiccup having to go back to get a bracelet at Stallo 1 km away from the festival grounds I got through the gate just after 12 pm where I grabbed a water just in case before heading to the crowd. The set up confused me a bit since the two parts of the audience was separated by a fence and on one side it was almost half full and the other only 2 rows of people had gathered around the stage (I thought the small people size was VIPs). I took my chances however to get to the side farther away when a child kept screaming near me and I saw over to the other side and realized it was full of familiar faces. The two security people let me in and so I ended up being third row the entire day (the side turned out to be for the 18+ crowd).
Aliisa Sylja started out the day and she was nice. I loved the fact that her outfit sort of looked like vintage underwear. However what made me the most excited was that one of her music pals had a violin! The second artist, Ares, did worry me at first since his bass was so loud, it made my insides squirm (and the last two times I’ve been to concerts like that I’d hated the music). However after a few songs I started vibing to it. Sadly for Ares himself what I mostly remember happened even before he got on stage where the host tried to hype us up by counting down to us screaming ARES and me not getting the memo so when I heard ‘yksi kaksi kolme’ I screamed SAUNA and when he said ‘Y K K’ I said BANANAS xD.
Costee was a positive surprise since I’d expected not to vibe with his music a lot since I’ve only heard Sekasin – loved that he had live drums and the rest of the songs were a lot more exciting (sorry Sekasin). Two fans in front of us had the time of their lives so they made the show that much better imo. Mirella was up next – lovely voice that made me cry at one point but I had a harder time feeling in tune with her music (which is not her fault). However Ege Zulu right after was right up my alley. The energy and crowd control was impressive and it made me want the hour to never end!
But now the real main event of the evening: Käärijä! Jesse made a (sort of) comeback since the tape show was back! I felt like I was at times the only one cheering but I had fun regardless. The show itself was amazing as usual. My highlight was without a doubt getting Paidaton Riehuja which is my first time post top surgery!!!! My shirt was off my body in less than a second and my voice begged me to stop while it was squeaking through the entire song (I didn’t care I needed my excitement to be FELT!) other than that seeing Käärijä in a harness was great as well, and the setlist in itself was tried and true good. Häärijä wasn’t here this evening but we were at least two previous H guest dancers in the crowd (me and the guy that got on stage in Osaka), so you can say Häärijä was here in spirit. On the other hand we got Hilarius Hiita joining us for Cha Cha Cha which was a fun if also random little addition. (fun fact: in the moment I tried to figure out if it could be Bojan under the mouse but I think the person was too short to be Bojan).
KAJ ended the evening and it was a nice first show for me! Admittedly I am not the biggest fan of Kom ti Byin, Karar I arbeid or Kaffetår so I didn’t care much for these songs, but they were still good live. I did however have the best time during Taco Hej!, Vems Poik E Du? And Pa to ka na ka ko…. I think I by now understand that Paljon – as in Kiitos paljon – means friend xD. Loved all their little costume changes and silly dances especially during Moquito and Nåo Jåo Ja E YOLO Ja Nåo – not to forget Text-TV with the silly tv head for Jakob! The opera midshow interlude was impressive and silly which is always a good combo. Right before Bara Bada Bastu the person next to me looked impressed and asked how I knew all the songs so well which made me feel almost embarrassed for how loud I must have screamed and how much I must have nerded the songs to make even KAJ fans impressed. BBB was a good closer – loved the dance and how loudly everybody screamed PERKELE in the second verse.
I am content and very happy with how the whole day went. Also got to draw a lot of little doodles for people (surprisingly no Jakobs but quite a few Kevins and tooooons of Jeres/Käärijäs), got to give out all 39 of my bracelets and even got a few things in return so thank you everybody hanging out with me in the crowd all day.
Here's my haul from the weekend – half of it is from Supersunnuntain (another post) and the rest is from or around Logomo.
