Happy 18th Birthday to my arch enemy and sister @brookekvedar21 Freaking 18, I don't care how much you will wave over me that you're an adult now, I promise I still know more than you even if you use big words when you speak 😂 18 though?!?? That's unreaaal! Welcome to the club. Life as an adult is all about balance. As seen in this first picture you do a pretty bad job at it so maybe work on that 😬😬 I'm just teasing you Brooke, I love you and can't wait to see all the amazing things you do. You already impress me everyday, with how well you do in school and a level of determination that's unmatched. I'm always here for you, no matter how old we get. Teasing doesn't go away tho, that's a role an older brother must carry. Its needed since I was the trial run 🤷♀️ I hope today is a great daybed, but I know your greatness is just getting started!!! See you soon, Love Mitch (Now to blast 50 Cent to wake up the house from my college dorm 🥳) (at Birthday Shenanigans) https://www.instagram.com/p/CK07uBxBmlw/?igshid=xndovdoa9mi0

Just hanging with the bros 📸 Bern and I decided to pay some homage to our favorite President FDR, as we look to recover from this horrid pandemic. His New Deal, had America at arguably its best point- and, the modern day equivalent (yet more equitable) Green New Deal are just more important than ever, given our cascading crises of our times. Also just needed an excuse to post these two legends together w/ me 😎🇺🇸 #newdeal #greennewdeal #gnd #fdr #FeelTheBern #berniesmittens (at FDR Memorial, Washington DC) https://www.instagram.com/p/CKgxm7-B7Hs/?igshid=4xlm3jvpyet9

A year marked with turmoil, we celebrate the life of MLK. Where BLM protesters are brutalized on the streets and racists storm our nations capitol, with the Confederate flag flowing thorough its hallowed halls. We celebrate a leader of a movement whose work is, obviously, never done. The mantle is on all of us now. We share the quotes, Democrats and Republicans say they push for what Martin Luther King belived in, and we dedicate a day to "service". But how about we truly believe in it, and fight for everyone, every human being, always, against those that are selfish, corrupt and amoral with their beliefs. How about we live our lives in service twords one another. Let's make humanity as a whole, truly embrace the sense of the word, humanity - "benevolence towards others". Dr. King had a dream, and its on all of us today to carry out that dream to its fullest. Now, more than ever. ~Reflecting @ the Reflecting pool~ Well, 2020, was certainly a hell of a year. For all of us, for the country, and for the world. And who knows if its going to get brighter anytime soon. We are going to have to deal with an America that feels more divided then ever before, deal with the failures of zoom edu, revive our economy and tackle the greatest threat that is looming with the climate crisis that one day threatens to make covid look like it was nothing. My 2020, was certainly interesting. I'm reflecting, as I'm sure we all are on what feels like forever. I want my 2021, to be better. I feel like I had a lot of people come into my life, became important, and then left it (not that I blame them). I feel like I'm behind in career goals even though I know I'm making progress. I feel like im not making as much change as I want to be. I feel underloved and underappreciated. I feel like I've hurt some folks and I hope one day that won't haunt me any longer and they might forgive me. I'm sure we all feel like this, but even as I know I'm putting my life together more, it still feels very apart. I'm hoping for removing that feeling in 2021, and on. So here's what I'm gonna do about it. A bit of a reinvention. Keep the good, out with the bad. Keeping, even if it can be bad: emotional, caring, "real/genuine", Bad: procrastanating, overthinking, over worried, stuck on people or things, Wants: be more care free, more valued, better people, and make/achieve set goals. Stick up for myself, take more ownership/mistakes and make sure they don't happen again. Be more committed to life- To-do: 1.Make new friends, and reach out to old ones, and only put out what I receive. Surround myself with people that advance myself, and build more deserving people into my close circle. Continue to care as deeply as I do about others... but be more selective with those emotions. 2.Have a set gym routine and read more, learn more, plan more. Stick to a schedule. 3.Become a bit more creative by investing myself in things like guitar or cooking! 4.Attempt to complete those wants, and rid of the bads 5.Don't be sorry for being yourself 6.Right the wrongs Happy New Year 🎆 (at Washington D.C.) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJjhGGihe3f/?igshid=wt75tn1ua3a7

Hey look ma! I'm a #brandambassador for the amazing @the.great.north.apparel company!!! In line with my own values of trying to live sustainably, and ethically, this company was an easy choice to both buy from and sponsor! They are a company that's committed to ethically and sustainably sources products- for example, ~10% of the proceeds go to environmental initiatives (planting trees, ocean clean up etc) ~unused materials are re-made into doggy beds! ~clothes are made from plastic bottles and bamboo! ~the manufacturing facility is solar powered, and apparel is hand made! ~compostable shipping, and recycled paper with @friendlymailer Not to mention the tags on the clothes contain seedlings to plant, and a free bamboo toothbrush, which is ✨fun✨ (The clothes are super nice too but I'll talk about them in the future) You can use my custom code BUYGREEN to get 30% off 🌿 but it's a cool company, and if we are using the capitalist system let's at least buy smart, and support eco-friendly businesses, especially around massive shopping holidays like Black Friday and Cyber Monday (at The Great North) https://www.instagram.com/p/CITyFcKhR69/?igshid=x1cy9ohcwvoi

Why am I smiling under my mask? @uconnpreztk and I at the @usguconn / @uconnpirg 's election watch party the other day! It was a pleasure to briefly chat. Honestly, a huge thanks to UConn's new president because I wouldnt be able to be here without the CT Commitment that he spearheaded. I'm one of the 260 students at UConn that are recieving the funding that greatly helps enable me to be here. While the program is being paused due to the pandemic and costs, I feel lucky to even have made it into the program durring the brief window it was open, and am lucky to retain the funding while I receive my undergraduate degree. Programs like this enable students like me, and thousands of students across the country to go to the schools they desire and would thrive at- and that's why Bidens plan of doing away with a vast majority of student debt and making 4 year public colleges and universities tuition-free for all families with incomes below $125,000, are so important. UConn did the same, for families that make under 50,000k. Making sure students can get their degrees, without taking on decades worth of debt is one of the biggest ways we can grow and stimulate our economy. ~One Opportunity~ Today's the day America. Let's go. Let's return this country to normalcy, before we let it fall into ruin. Let us return morals and character to the White House. Today is a momentous day. Make the right decision America. I'd be honored to have the ~opportunity~ to push Biden as hard as we can on progressive issues and fight for our one shot to reverse catastrophic climate change. Let's do this. I'm hyped. I vote, do you? With only 18 days until election day, do you have a plan to vote? It seems more complicated than it is! (Feel free to dm me and I'll get more information your way if you need help!) (Also in my highlights check out CTVOTE! I'll be keeping helpful info there 😉) These too! @ctvote @rockthevote @whenweallvote CT DEADLINES: While you can vote in person on election day (and even still register to vote) or even request an absentee ballot up to Nov 2nd, dont wait! The deadline to register in Connecticut is Oct. 27 (unless you do same day registration/voting in person on Nov 3rd) You can register to vote online (by 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 27), by mail (must be postmarked by Oct. 27) or in person at the town hall where you live (by 8 p.m.) or the DMV (by the end of the business day). You CAN register to vote, and vote in person, on election day but only at select locations. If you are still trying to vote absentee, go here if you dont have a ballot yet myvote.ct.gov/absentee and it will get you going in the process. NOV 3rd - Election Day! (Runs from 6am to 8pm) This is the most important election of our lifetimes - for a million and two reasons. We have less than a decade to fight back against the climate crisis, a moment to stand up for racial equality, a chance to eliminate student debt for thousands, and the chance to put someone in the White House who believes in science, and has some humanity. Yet, this election is also critical on the state and local level. Stand up with our generation and let's show the country that the youth voice does matter. Exercise your right, and let's vote. The youth turnout is normally dismal, let's turn that around this year (and for years to come). #vote #vote2020 #youthvote (at Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial) https://www.instagram.com/p/CGdI4hdhQ42/?igshid=17wjamy8ycszf

Made my new home more homey! 🏡 @uconn With, @ecohusky @uconnos Go check out the new garden @ swan lake! We planted some splices of the old swing tree (I'm a transfer I have no clue) (I hear it was great), a garden, and installed "buddy benches" that were designed to help foster friendships as well as facilitate tough conversations around politics, climate change or other topics. It's a beautiful spot! #nature #garden #uconn (at Swan Lake) https://www.instagram.com/p/CGaezlFhOac/?igshid=gvys7r7tqwhu
