I absolutely love how the dandelions depicted in the cartoon serve as a parallel to Petey, Lil Petey, and then Dogman.

Lil Petey is a young dandelion, a budding flower eagerly absorbing the colors and sounds of a new world. His petals are tender and delicate, like the first impressions of childhood. Lil Petey is the epitome of youth, a symbol of innocence and boundless potential.
And Petey and Dogman are mature dandelions, their flower gradually withering, transforming into a fluffy globe of seed-parachutes, carrying the wisdom of a lived life into the world. Their yellow color has faded, giving way to silvery maturity.
