Benefits of Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic benefits everyone, from famous celebrities to hardworking families and little children. Every year millions of Americans are treated by chiropractic physicians. "Chiropractic" is derived from the Greek word Chiropraktikos, the treatment by hand. Bonesetters, as they have been called, have been around since the days of the ancient Greeks and Egyptians. Chiropractic Physicians are trained diagnosticians specializing in spinal health care and the nervous system.
Most Physicians advocate a well-rounded approach to health care, by teaching their patients the importance of spinal care, exercise, proper nutrition and a natural approach to health and wellness. Ideally most chiropractic physicians focus on spinal related problems and advocate prevention of spinal decay and degeneration through gentle and precise vertebral manipulation and mobilization. In addition, many have formal post graduate education and state certifications in the area of nutrition, homeopathy, sports medicine, neurology, pediatrics, acupuncture and many other specialties.
The popularity of the benefits of chiropractic care grows each year due to the continued research and education of the chiropractic physician. You might be surprised to know that some of your favorite celebrities and athletes utilize chiropractic health care as part of their ongoing health care regime.

The Miraculous Human Body
The human body is a unique system of checks and balances. One of the most fascinating aspects of this marvelous machine is the function of our body's central nervous system. You literally cannot walk, talk, breathe, and digest your food or even blink without full cooperation of this intricate system.
"The primary function of our nervous system is to control the body and maintain life support."
Your heart beats approximately 100,000 times a day, pumping an average of 10-12 gallons of blood through a network of over 60,000 blood vessels.
Your skin has over 4 million pores that are always trying help your body maintain a comfortable temperature.
You have an incredible detoxification plant in your body called your liver that deals with all the toxins you put into your system. *Your liver contains hundreds of enzymes that do their job over a million times per minute.
All of these various systems in your body are under the direct control of your central nervous system, the brain and spinal cord. Fortunately, mother nature has given us a protective housing for this precious system by providing a skull and spinal column. The brain sends and receives nerve signals through the spinal cord via its spinal nerves which are finger-like extensions which branch out through openings between each of the 24 vertebra giving function to your muscles, organs and skin. Every living tissue of your body has a nerve supply originating from the spinal cord. A child's hand may wander too close to a fire, but before any harm occurs there is a sensory nerve signal sent to the brain. The child perceives heat and within a second a motor reflex is sent from the spinal cord to the hand and the child quickly removes his hand because of this reflex. If your back is beginning to take on a new importance it is probably because you are beginning to realize that it is more than simply a stack of bones. It's your lifeline to great health!!!
