RNR Event’s debut EDM gig promises to be bangin’, hundo p!

Makati City-   RNR Events, the premier events organization and professional audio & lighting equipment company proudly presents Old Skool: Redux. 

As a fitting tribute to the grassroots party series at the now-defunct Old Skool Bar & Resto in the Malate-Taft area, the group organized this event to celebrate EDM and support up-and-coming DJs who are poised to showcase their skills, while having some fun.

Catch RNR’s resident DJ Luis Pelo as he dishes out the sickest Trap, Deep House and Bass House beats. Being a seasoned DJ with affiliations to Rave City PH, Breakdown Manila, and coming from a generation of DJs the likes of genius duo DCash, this young spinner exudes passion for music, having played alongside the likes of top-calibre names like Callum David, Patty Tiu and Patrick Rizzari, among many more. 

Achi Uy-Oco, a fresh face in the industry, is not shy in also playing to a big crowd, being a regular in big school gigs like St. Scholastica’s College’s AXIS 2017 and Unravel. Her take on deep house will make your head bop and your feet moving.

Next up, we’ve got Zaiten, a.k.a. “The Ruthless DJ and Brutal Bass-Slayer”. A Rave City PH mainstay, he has been featured in one of the known and highest level of competition in the country: the SanMig Light Party-All-Night DJ Spinoff. A finalist for two-consecutive years, this wonderboy is always on the pursuit of the perfect noize to keep the adrenaline rushing for his audience.

Kyst, the sensational trap duo, is also a Rave City PH DJ group, known for their high-energy sets of trap and EDM that will keep you up all night.

Finally, RNR Events is proud to announce the debut performance of International DJ Ben Wilson, a multi-platform, multi-genre radio and club DJ. With experience playing across the UK and in venues across Europe, he is well versed in catering to different audiences and scenarios. He is comfortable across any genre, but specialises in R&B, Hip-Hop, House and Trance. He also has a bunch of radio shows & guestings, as follows:

MixoPicks: Back to EDM | Vol.1

Cheat Codes feat. Demi Lovato, some Kygo x Selena, and a fresh new entry from Saara.

It’s officially summer, and today, we bring you the freshest remixes of current hits to keep you on your feet under the sweltering heat!

First off, we have this remix of “No Promises”: an energetic take on the ‘already soon-to-be overplayed’ but delish track from an LA-based group, Cheat Codes.

This electronic music DJ trio consisting of members Trevor Dahl, Kevin Ford and Matthew Russell, is taking the scene by storm, having been featured as a front act for Chainsmokers. Then they got to collab with our girl Demi which is another major feat, to which we come to wonder ‘how did they get this far’? Well, apparently, it’s all in the name.

“We really embody the idea that anything is possible. To us the real ‘cheat code’ to life is loving what you do and we hope to convey that energy through our music,” they said in an interview.

Next up is our second track, which is produced by a DJ who needs no further introduction. It’s Kygo, the world-renowned Norweigian DJ whose remix of an Ed Sheeran song garnered over 50 million plays on SoundCloud, and 15 mil more on YouTube. Of course the rest is history: releases of his singles “ID”, “Stole the Show”, “Here for You”, and “Stay”, a gig in the 2016 Rio Olympics, and now, this sexy track with Selena Gomez, best enjoyed with drink in hand, while dancing away ‘til the sun sets.

Finally, we have the Kahikko remix of Saara’s power track, “Superpowers”. This newcomer from Finland shows great potential with vocal prowess that can give Zara Larson, Halsey and other current female electronic music artists a run for their money. While you can of course enjoy the original version, this rework proves to be a better alternative if you want to keep your pulse racing.

Lookback Pt.2: “WordOut” at URBN QC | 3.17.17

Aaaand we’re back for another round of #Lookback! Finally, today I am happy to report that I can share with you part two of what went down in Rave City Philippines’ smashingly successful debut at URBN QC in Timog last March 17, 2017. It was another pumped-up Friday as usual at this amazing club in Quezon City: proof that everything happening isn’t always down south. 

So we pick up the pace once more where we left off, after that awesome set by Luis Pelo. At this point everyone in the club was up on their feet, so it provided the perfect segue to our next performance.

The power duo KYST invaded the stage to deliver that one-two punch of solid trap and future bass. You can definitely feel the energy and sense the electricity flowing, ala Nghtmre, and the crowd loves the bassy vibe!

Everything was a blur to this author after, as URBN QC never fails to get everyone f’-ed up with their selection of the finest libations. See Exhibit A:

But no matter how loose or even sloshed some were, the set by Legashit, spear-headed by Rave City Philippines’s resident DJs, Shaun Reyes and Alreine Reyes, surely made the night even more special with their upbeat mix of club bangers, a little bit of trap and some more hip-hop. This is also the part when the entertainment factor skyrocketed: you have people grinding and bouncing, while the finest models started to strut their stuff and twerk all night. Exhibit B:

Whew, and we haven’t even gotten to talking about one of the main events yet!

Now this man right here (not the guy under the URBN sign), is none other than DJ Patrick Rizzari. Born in the Philippines, but raised in cosmopolitan Hong Kong, Patrick has proven over the years that he’s simply good at what he does: delivering music from the heart and onto the decks. He’s hailed as numero uno in Hong Kong and Macau’s renowned club, Play. Now going on tour with other talented home-grown and international DJs, Patrick Rizzari has established recognition as one of Asia's best. Now how many DJs can make people dance to Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape of You’? 

He even brought some good-ol’ 90′s Hip-Hop and R&B, taking everyone back to Montell Jordan’s ‘This is How We Do It” and even some motown hits in the mix!

Now if only anyone can tell me what happened afterwards. I heard wonderboy Migs Santillan ended the night on a high note with his solid set, but, alas, there’s only so much liquor this tito author can take. ‘Til next time. Word out! Peace!

Lookback Pt.1: “WordOut” at URBN QC | 3.17.17

QUEZON CITY-  Rave City Philippines, the premiere promotional brigades of the  “grandest” raves in Metro Manila has successfully launched their brand of hip-hop, trap, bass house and electronic music with the non-stop attack brought to the table by its arsenal of up-and-coming as well as renowned DJs, both homegrown and foreign.

Zaiten (fb @ZaiteN612) warmed up the crowd pretty good with some contempo hip-hop, dishin’ out tracks like this one from Migos, as he started out strong and helped set the mood for more bouncin’ later in the night.

Then it was Luis Pelo’s turn (fb @luispelobdmnl) to keep ‘em up their feet with sick deep house and bass house beats. The energy was really rising from this point on and shall we say, everyone was in party mode already.

Here’s another part of his earth-shakin’ set, where he drops that heavy with this upbeat trap mashup of Rae Sremmurd’s No Flex Zone. Listen to that bass! 

Luis Pelo has really shown maturity as a DJ given his 4 years experience by delivering a well-curated music selection as well as exhibiting flexibility to switch between genres like deep & bass house as well as hip-hop and good ol' EDM. Following his smashingly-successful gig at Chaos Manila Nightclub in July 8, 2016, the Los Angeles-based DJ, also known as Tyler Marenyi IRL, has been making waves in the electronic music scene following the successful debut of his awesome track “Street” during Skrillex’s stint at Ultra 2015.
