In a garden....
I blatantly borrowed a stained glass Tiffany image called "Guiding Angel" and modified it (a lot!) to create this painting. Watercolor, ink, and acrylic on 12" x 16" hardboard.

GO for a Picnic
I celebrated the 35th anniversary in my own special way, with two small friends, their Bentley, some sushi, and a chocolate crepe. (It's very nice that my town has a sushi place AND a creperie within the same half block, I must say!) Cheers to all who are enjoying picnics today!

Of COURSE I own a picnic basket. Doesn't everyone?

And yes, I do also have a tiny model 1930s Bentley.

A very ineffable picnic indeed!

This is the beautiful art which @alwaystuesday created for me. I was so happy to have the chance to donate to a worthy charity via Fandom Trumps Hate, and to receive such a wonderful work! (That little goat is ADORABLE.)

At last some new art!
@mizmak won my @fandomtrumpshate auction and asked me to recreate the painting Daphnis and Chloe (1893) by Camille Félix Bellanger as Aziracrow. I think it works so well and am really pleased with how it came out!
Painted and drawn using watercolour pencils.

Painted Aziraphale in watercolor, which is not my usual medium for portraits -- I prefer colored pencil or oils for better control. Watercolor is more challenging, and I'm fairly happy with the way this turned out. (Daniel Smith watercolors on 140lb hot press paper, 8" x 10")

Year of the Snake
Just saw these new stamps from the U .S. Postal Service:

It would be nicer if there was black and red in there, but I'm not picky...and the eyes are black and yellow...think I'll buy enough to cover my postage stamp needs for the next ten years or so....!

My latest fic is now complete (35,000 words in 8 chapters):
Aziraphale adores his quiet village life, which is suddenly threatened by the Archer Corporation’s massive luxury resort plan. When their landscape architect, Anthony Crowley, turns up looking for a local guide, Aziraphale agrees to assist the “enemy” as a spy—hoping to thwart him.
But it turns out that stopping the destruction of his ideal home might succeed if he and Crowley work together. And Aziraphale might find the love he’s been yearning for along the way. RATING = M

In which a random map search amuses me
I was looking at a map of some areas in the north of England, to find a suitable location for Crowley and Aziraphale to go to in my current story-in-progress, when I found this section of County Durham:

Clearly, they need to travel somewhere near here---and surely I'm not the first fan to have noticed this---but it still made me smile!

Yes or No? (Well, we know the answer!)
Just finished this -- it's an 1893 painting by John William Godward titled "Yes or No" (original posted below), which I manipulated with Photoshop, and then repainted parts of using Adobe Fresco. Enjoy!

I am relieved about the GO "finale" news
Okay, it's not as good as six episodes. That was disappointing.
BUT, it's a conclusion to the story--and with Rob Wilkins in a prominent role, I have faith that it will be a true and satisfying ending.
And frankly, even a few minutes of Crowley & Aziraphale together again would make me utterly ecstatic. And even more frankly, no matter how good this might turn out, I don't truly give a damn about anything other than seeing them back together AS FRIENDS saving the Earth again. I need to see that.
So all in all, after my initial dismay at the news, I came to my senses and realized that WE WILL GET TO SEE CROWLEY AND AZIRAPHALE REUNITED ON SCREEN!!!!
And love will survive.

With Book and Sword
I found a medieval stained glass image of an angel holding a book and a sword -- and had fun changing nearly everything about it to fit a certain angel I know! Created with Adobe Fresco.

The original halo was red, and the flowers were nondescript; I made them apple blossoms. The sword was not like his at all, had to alter it a lot. Book is pretty similar except the color. The robe pattern was much busier and distracting, took it out and totally replaced it. And you know, I may have changed the face a bit....!

No wing to keep you from the flames
Crowley thinking about the coming conflagration of the End Times, and wondering how he can protect his Angel now.

Drawn using Adobe Fresco.

They Like Holding Hands
This idea was giving me too much trouble using my preferred medium of colored pencil, so I opted to use Adobe Fresco. Digital art is self-taught for me because I'm too lazy to take a class, but basically, I just tried to replicate my colored pencil process as best I could: Sketch, layer colors, blend. (Sure is easier to erase!) Enjoy.

And here is a bonus close-up view:

It sure was easier to do that damned bow tie digitally than in colored pencil.
Extra bonus even closer up:

Oh, how I would like to see an expression like this in series 3....sigh.
