Final reflection ~

Well, what can I say.. I lowkey can’t believe I’m writing this finishing CAS statement, as not so long ago I was creating this blog. But I’m glad it is over. CAS wasn’t too pleasant of an experience for me. Of course, I did many fun things during the course of the past two years but CAS reports don’t feel right to me. I did those activities for myself, not to prove anything. Yes, CAS did force me to engage more in some things, like the volunteering work, but I would much prefer not to feel stressed whether I have enough hours to pass the subject or do I need to sacrifice some other activity in order to pass. Because let’s be honest - nobody likes to be billed from one’s school free time. But CAS did just that, even in my free time reminded me of school, responsibilities, future assignments and sometimes as much as triggered overthingking, ruining my peace of mind. I like to think of myself as a person who engages in voluntary work, has some hobbies and moves their.. *ekhm* self from the bed sometimes regardless of everything. Yet, sometimes life is too much, you need to concentrate on things other than extracurricular activities, take a break. Whether it’s school work, mental health or anything else, sometimes you don’t manage to fit all the CAS required hours in a certain period and in the end need to rush, dropping everything else to meet these demands. Trully, I would like to write something nice about running this blog but I am just not able to. I greatly enjoyed most of the activities I have described here, I could talk about them for hours but not in the context of “CAS inspired/motivated/made me grow as a person..” because that would simply be lie and I don’t want to lie about my experience. So, thank you IB for the CAS, it was *meh* while it lasted but I will happily wave it goodbye now.

Service ~

Today I decided to torture poor little Ola with a conversation lesson. Firstly I asked her to tell me about a book she has recently read, then about her cat, favorite school subject, ballet lessons, etc. Overall, I made her talk for an hour at least. Then we watched a cartoon (and later talked about it!).

Activity ~

Snowboard again. fun fun fun fun fun

This time I helped Igi look after some kiddos cuz idk why he volunteered for that but ok, whatevs.

Creativity ~

Lately, when my school put me on a quarantine, I decided to visit England. You know, to share my corona so I get better quicker. On the lovely islands, me and my dad decided to be culturable and visit the National Gallery. Then my dad laughed at how well I blended into this painting. Also my two favorite pieces: the Ugly Duchess and the lady posing with her portrait for a portrait.

Service ~

New lesson same tense, aka. present perfect continuated. Ola started to get it, yet as all people with english as the scond language know, ‘perfect’ tenses take some time to wrap your head around.

Activity ~

Another day snowboarding. Not sure what to write, it was fun (per usual). I can say the quality sucks cuz Igi used messenger to send it.

Now it’s my mom’s nails that I did (yummy treats as the hand-rest 👌🏻👌🏻).

Service ~

Today came the day to learn the past tenses. Ola picked up on them quite fast and I must say, I was very proud of her. We also suplemented them with present perfect but this needs some time.

Activity ~

For the winter holidays my love, his family, and I went skiing (or snowboarding) to Italy. During the first day, I was devastated at how much I have forgotten during my 2 year break but fortunately my abilities came back at the end of the day.

Creativity ~

Plants are friends.

That’s why I stuffed some in a big jar and closed it.

Service ~

As Ola did very well on her present tenses test, to celebrate I have decided to do something I really liked when I myself attended english extra lessons at her age - we watched a cartoon. But following my intent to make her comfortable speaking in eng, from time to time I paused the cartoon and asked her to summarize what happened. She doesn’t like it very much but I know that, I didn’t either.

Waltz without Igi cuz he a lazy piggie who went to Japan and doesn’t go to sql.

Service ~

Today I played teacher again and gave english lessons to little Ola. We handled present simple and present continuous tenses. I also decided that it is extremly important to break her language barrier and forced her to talk about her favorite movie. Fortunately, it was Beauty and the Beast, so didn’t have to force my interest as I also enjoyed the film when I was younger.

Activity ~

It’s alpaka timeee!! As my sis and her fiance get married this summer, they were looking for some cool wedding photo ideas. Majka found an alpaka farm which did tours and photos with them, so we decided to check it out. I have only two words: so soft <3.
