wyminjung:
just girly things: @wymoonlian
Anxious feet padded along the tiles as Minjung dodged the influx of holiday shoppers, a wandering eye keeping careful watch over each shop. There were only two shopping bags in her hand, both of which were filled with goodies she’d bought for family and friends—what little of which she had. It was such a tiring process and nothing had changed. The woman hated shopping all the same but even so, she’d asked Lian to join her as she couldn’t bear to suffer through such tediousness on her own. Long lines and Christmas music seemed to be a common theme among each shop they passed. “This is too much. If people know the holiday [Christmas] is coming, why not just shop ahead?” Minjung rolled her eyes upon catching a glimpse of the crowded Etude store. “But I guess I can’t talk since I’m here doing the same thing.” She whispered.
An almost ironic grin adorned her lips as she stole a glance at Lian. She purposely pushed her weight onto the female and bumped her playfully against the shoulder. It was the same flicker of contentment that faded and caused Minjung’s pace to slow, nearly coming to a stop. “Yah!” Again, she brushed a hand against her friend in hopes of catching her attention. The store’s decor was colorful and faint Christmas music blared from the inside as an array of busy customers piled into its entrance. Ah yes, a kids clothing store. How could the woman have forgotten? Babies were a thing and for the next seven months, she’d be carrying one.
Such uncertainty caused her stomach to churn and she raised her eyebrow. Her eyes were shifting between the store and her companion, almost as if she were trying to communicate telepathically through gazes alone. “I should probably go in there,” Minjung narrowed her eyes and noisily sucked in a breath of air through her teeth. “Shouldn’t I?”
When Minjung had asked her to join her in some holiday shopping, Lian agreed. Her list was rather short, but she had neglected to finish it off when she had the chance, eager to find the perfect gift for the people on her list. “Honestly...” Lian began, looking at the crowd and seeing hints of madness unraveling in some of the shoppers and making note to avoid them and steer Minjung away from them. “It’s like homework. Just because you can, you always procrastinate until the last minute, thinking you’ll get it done sooner or later...”
At the girl’s whisper, Lian laughed and leaned closer to her, matching her tone. “Me too. But at least we’re not like them,” she said, gesturing to a couple of older ladies who were practically snatching what looked like a make up brush set out of each other’s hands. “I don’t even want to know what the electronics stores looks like!”
Lian had been here a million time before, but today felt so much different with all the sales and people acting as though it were the end of the world, all wrapped up in a nice bow with Christmas music blaring in the background. When Minjung nudged her, she looked at her, then followed her gaze to see the kids clothing store, which, thankfully, wasn’t as crazy. “Yeah...” Lian said, looking at the cute little outfits for children by the entrance. “But do you want to go now? What if you get the wrong thing? It’ll still be here in a couple of months, and I’ll come back with you and we can go in together.”

wychai:
FROM THE DESK OF … . @wymoonlian! ↳ NOTES : CLOSED STARTER ; LIAN + CHAI .
✎ —– “LIAN NOONA!” the young artist nearly shouts as he opens the front door, intaking a deep breath as he stands there in the doorframe. His eyes are hopeful, a little empty, staring deep at the person in front of him. It was safe to say that Chai had been patiently awaiting the other’s arrival to his apartment—it wasn’t every day he decided to reach out to friends for impromptu company. But he felt like he needed it, and he didn’t feel like burdening his roommate with less than happy thoughts when there was already so much on their plate. So he called Lian instead. He knew she was someone to rely on anyways. He was in good hands.
Chai steps to the side to welcome the older female in to his living space, using a free hand to gesture her towards the couch where she could sit if she felt like it. The same hand comes up to thread through his hair after he closes the front door, body remaining near it as he asks in casual conversation. He knows he didn’t tell her exactly why he had asked her over, and he didn’t exactly feel like revealing it now. Maybe he wouldn’t say it at all. It wasn’t necessary to enjoy your company with someone, was it? Chai didn’t think so. “Did you want anything to drink? I don’t have a lot but there’s stuff. But.. I was thinking maybe we could catch up on some movies you haven’t seen yet! Or go get some dinner. I feel like I haven’t seen you in a while, noona. Consider it my treat.” the artist flashes a small smile when he’s through, looking at her to wait for a response.
If Lian wasn’t working or running her weekly errands and chores, she really wasn’t doing much else. Sometimes she would seek other’s company and sometimes, they would seek hers.
Today seemed to be the latter.
A smile lit up the young girl’s face when Chai reached out and Lian immediately agreed. He was a sweet guy and they had fun together and got along well. Lian quickly got ready, making herself somewhat presentable at least before heading over to his place.
It didn’t take long for him to open the door. “Well hello there,” she greeted the other before stepping inside his place, taking off her shoes before entering the apartment further. “I’m okay, I’m like a water balloon right now I’ve been drinking so much water I’m gunna burst,” Lian laughed. “But I can’t say no to food, I am hungry and movies sound great. I got all night so we can binge a bunch of them.”
She took a seat and faced him properly, reading his features and cocked her head to the side a little. “How are you doing, Chai? Everything good?”

wyinsu:
“Now that you lured me out here–” He eases off his left shoe and tips it over–pouring out the sand. Normally he’d be barefoot on the beach but this cold? He likes his toes where they are, not frozen off. “–you get enough of the beach yet? Because I was done 30 minutes ago.” And he’s only been here about 5 minutes. The level of done extends to when he agreed to meet by the ocean.
“Yeah, but the sun usually helps.” And at the mention of food, In-su visibly perks up. “That’s the best idea you’ve had today. C’mon, noona.” He hooks their arms together, drawing her away from the water.
“I want crab.”
“Lured you out here,” she snorted. “You make it sound like I’m some type of sea witch or sea monster or something and you’re my victim.” Lian let out a sigh and watched the ocean for a few moments before before standing up and brushing the sand off her butt. “You complain too much Insu~, but yes, I’m good to go. Lets head out.”
It wasn’t a surprise that the appeal of food seemed to work for Insu. “I’ve had lots of good ideas today, you just happened to get this one though,” she said, following along as he pulled her away from the waves. “Where do you want to go?”

wydoyun:
“i didn’t tell you because, like i said, i thought it would be easier that way. i don’t know, i just… you know i’m an idiot,” doyun muttered, gaze flickering around nervously, looking anywhere but at lian. “i thought that if i didn’t tell anyone, there wouldn’t be any sadness. i didn’t think anyone would really care, i guess. i grew up with this—with this feeling of inferiority. a desire to prove myself. i thought that no one would care all that much if i disappeared, and… i thought that if i become an idol, i’d finally prove myself.” a forced laugh slips past his lips, a broken attempt to keep himself from breaking down. “i’m sorry that i made you worry,” he added, his intense gaze falling upon her once more before darting away just as quickly.
“i guess… in a way, i would’ve been okay with not coming back.” he knew that it was a shitty thing to admit to her, but he figured it would be better to be completely honest than try to dig himself into a deeper hole of lies. “by the point that i debuted, it had been three years since i left. in those first three years, my company didn’t allow me to contact anyone. not even family. i wasn’t allowed a phone or any electronics. and… when i finally was, i was a coward. i thought it was too late, thought everyone wouldn’t care about me anymore. or maybe would’ve forgotten about me.” his voice is growing less and less steady, but he digs his fingernails into his palms in a desperate attempt to ground himself. he has no right to get emotional.
“i’m back now, because…” he stopped. sighed. “i’m back because my dream was torn from my hands. ripped apart. the company… they didn’t support my group. they didn’t promote us well or get frequent appearances on television, but they blamed our lack of popularity on us. in november, they told us that they had decided to put us on an indefinite hiatus.” now, he looked straight at her. “what that means is… basically, in the music world, that’s how they end our contracts and get rid of us without any legal troubles. so not only did we fail, we were thrown to the side like trash. uh, that’s why i’m back.”
he didn’t mean to, but he smiled at the words we’ll work on it. just a small smile, but it was definitely a noticeable change compared to the downtrodden expression he had been wearing before. “i don’t care that you’ve changed. i’ll like any version of you, lian. you were always my best friend, you always will be, even if you don’t feel the same way anymore.”
For a moment, Lian felt nothing. It was as though all the feelings, all the emotions she had and that had been bottled up just gave up. There were too many things that Lian was feeling at once. Anger, annoyance, pity, concern. The rational side of her and the emotional side of her had very different ideas of how this should play out. It was hard to know what the right thing to say or do was, although her head and her heart knew what it wanted.
“I’m still mad about everything. I think you can agree I have every right to be,” she said, looking at him as he seemed to avoid looking back at her. “But I would never wish the worst for you, I hope you know that. I’m sorry things turned out this way for you. The company was not the right one for you, I think it’s as simple as that and they missed out.” Lian wasn’t sure if this was helpful or not, or if it would just hurt him more, but she was trying her best.
“You’re not trash. You never were. So don’t call yourself that or I’m going to get more angry with you,” her voice was firm, but there was a hint of a smile on her face. Something that she hoped would get a laugh out of him or crack a smile on his face. It was obvious he was having a hard time and sure, what he had done was wrong, but they had been so close once upon a time. And Lian hoped they could get back to that.
Lian reached across the table and took one of his hands in both of hers. “You better. Because let me tell you, I’ve gotten more amazing since you left. Everyone wants to be my friend,” she paused and added, “well, that’s a lie. But we’re going to pretend it’s true.”

The chill of the snow smacking against the back of his head had him freezing, a breath being taken. A piece of his father reared it’s ugly head, whipped through him like wild fire before he shoved it down, smothering it until it was nothing but smoke by time he’d released the breath. «Childish… i thought better of you.» He mutters the words before brushing snow off his shoulder, listening to the stomping of her feet as she left. A shake of his head and he’s heading inside, letting the door close behind him on the shreds of a relationship that had been doomed from the start. «FROM THE TOP. You will dance until you drop!»

wydoyun:
“that’s fair,” doyun responded quietly. he made it sound like it was fine, but it was clear that he was hurt when he broke eye contact with lian in favor of looking out the window at the snow-covered streets. he knew he was the one in the wrong, but it didn’t change the fact that in his head, he almost felt like she was SUPPOSED to forgive him and go back to how things were before. like it had never even ended. but that was just how his mind worked—he was an idealist, constantly expecting the best. he always had been.
“it wasn’t just you. it’s not like i was out to get you or anything like that. i didn’t tell anyone. i—i figured it would be easiest that way, i guess,” he admitted, and there was a terribly sad look in his eyes when he finally looked back at lian. “if i told everyone i was leaving, i would’ve had to have answers. where i was going, why, when i would be back… at that time, nothing was certain. i didn’t know exactly where i was going. i didn’t know exactly why, just that i was chasing a dream. i didn’t know when i would be back. and… when i debuted… i don’t know, i never thought i’d come back. and by then, i… i figured it had been too long. it was too late for me to contact anyone in my mind.”
he placed his coffee cup down to crack his knuckles, a nervous habit that he had developed in his teenage years after seeing a few of his friends do it enough times. “i know it was really fucked up. i know i shouldn’t have been so selfish. i regret it every day, lian. i really do. i mean… in the long run, i lost so many of my close friends and for what? nothing. in the end, i didn’t succeed, anyway. i just… i really want my best friend back. i need her right now more than ever.”
When he looked away, Lian did the same, her gaze falling on the hot chocolate she had been holding onto tightly between her hands. She loosened her grip a little and let out another sigh. Lian never thought that it would have come to this for them. It was never supposed to be like this.
“You can tell me that now, so why couldn’t you then?” she asked, doing her best to keep her voice calm. “You can tell me now that nothing was certain, but why couldn’t you then? Do you know how worried I was? I waited for you in the park and you never showed up. I thought--” Lian bit her tongue, trying to keep her emotions in check. There’s no need to overreact, she thought to herself. “I thought something happened to you. That you were hurt,” she said when she was able to regain control of herself a little.
“You seem like you were fine with that. Never coming back. Never seeing us again.” It sounded much more harsh than she meant for it to, but it was just an observation based on what he had said. “What changed for you to think you can contact me now? What made you reach out to me? You’re back, and you’re here, and here we are. Six years later. So what happened?”
It was hard to stay mad or upset when he spoke again. It was strange how she could feel what he was feeling when he spoke, and her mind jumped back to the girl she was six years before, wanting to take care of her best friend. “Doyun...” she sighed, unsure of what it was she even wanted to say. “Lets just...we’ll work on it. Six years is a long time. I’m not the same person I was before. I don’t want you getting your hopes up for a version of me that you knew, because you don’t know me now. Just like I don’t know you. But we’ll work on it.”

wyxkisung:
He could see the annoyance so clearly on her face and knew he’d pushed just the right buttons. Ki was a pro at pushing the right buttons to push people away. A down right expert at this point. People couldn’t hurt you if you didn’t let them close. And he was getting attached to Lian… He’d miss her in fact, and could feel it already with how his heart clenched. Not that those emotions showed on his face. «Okay. Bye then.» True to form, Kis turning on his heel, heading back into the studio. He’d deal with the emotional bullshit later when he didn’t have a class to teach.
She wasn’t sure what she expected to happen after she let him go. For him to fight for her? Fat chance. He never seemed interested in her, and she was sure if she hadn’t ended it now, he would have, soon. He didn’t wait for her to even reply, although again, she wasn’t sure what she would have said but as he turned and started to head back inside, the hurt and the pain and her emotions were getting the better of her and before her mind could catch up with what her body was doing, she grabbed snow off the ground, packing it tight and whipped it towards him, aiming for his back but her awful aim got him in the head instead. She almost apologized, almost, but instead, she bit her tongue and turned away, heading home instead.

wydaehyun:
Daehyun often wondered why he had agreed with someone. It makes the rent cheaper, his mind never failed to remind him. But cheaper rent was not enough to make him feel relaxed and comfortable in his own living space. He always had to be careful, to keep in mind the story he had woven about his life to his roommate. Which is why when an opportunity to escape came in the form of Lian inviting him over to spend time together, he instantly said yes.
He didn’t have to lie around Lian, didn’t have to pretend to be someone he wasn’t. He had known her for so long, grew up with her, so trying to get money from her by lying was out of the question. He took public transport and then walked the rest of the distance to her house, taking the time to look around and breathing some fresh air. It didn’t take long for him to reach his destination and soon he was knocking on the door, burying his hands into the pockets of his jacket and hiding his nose behind his knitted scarf.
When the door opened, he smiled at the sight of his friend and quickly reached out to cup her jaw in his palms. “Warmth, finally,” he said as his cold fingers touched her skin. He had always enjoyed teasing her like this.
Lian woke up that morning with a mission. The holidays were coming and she liked to bake when it would snow, loving the atmosphere that it created and the laughter shared between people close together. Of course, Lian lived alone, and her mother was busy working so baking with her had been out of the question.
But there was Daehyun, one of her dearest and truest friends and when she had asked him over, he had instantly agreed, causing Lian to be giddy and excited. She ran around her kitchen, pulling out bowls and spoons and pots and pans and checked and double checked that she had all the ingredients she needed, which she did since she had stocked up the day before.
It was about the fifth time she was checking things when she heard someone at the door and a smile lit up her face. She hurried over and swung it open, and before she could greet the other or say anything, he put his hands on her face. “That’s cold!” she whined, smacking his hands away. “But jeez, it must be really cold out, huh? Come inside. I’d offer you tea or hot chocolate or something but after what you just did, you can forget about it, mister.”
For goodness bakes x {Lian + Dae}

wydoyun:
— closed starter for @wymoonlian !
“i never forgot you, lian,” doyun murmured as he gazed at his childhood friend from behind his cup of coffee. it was a little awkward now, having six years of lost time. he knew that he had never given her an explanation when he left… but, in his defense, he hadn’t given ANYONE an explanation. nor was there a warning when he returned. but his words were true, and she was one of the main people that he had looked forward to seeing again. the girl that he had spent almost all of his time with back when they were just kids…
“you’re not mad at me, are you?” he asked, but his solemn expression suggested that he already had an idea of what her answer would be. he could only hope that he was wrong, but he just didn’t know anymore. he had been able to read lian so easily when they were younger, but she had grown. changed. his memory of her had become a little blurry over time, and now he didn’t know what to make of the girl in front of him.
At his words, Lian could only let out a sigh. She wasn’t sure what it meant. resignation? Annoyance? Of course, she couldn’t forget him either. It was hard to forget someone who you saw every minute of every day, someone you were practically joined at the hip with, someone who, everyone always saw one with the other with. But one day, he had up and left. Lian had worried at first, that something had happened to him, that he was hurt, that something was wrong, but had quickly learned that wasn’t the case. He had simply left without saying goodbye and had never contacted her again.
Until now.
When he spoke again, she definitely felt a little more annoyed. “Gee, we were best friends and you just suddenly left and thought, hey, lets just not tell Lian because that’s totally alright. So no. Noooo, of course not. Why would I possibly be mad?” she said, her words coming out much more harsh than she meant for it to, but she had been hurt. “I don’t even know why you bothered gracing me with your presence now, after so long.”

wyyumi:
It’s been so long since she’s held a conversation with someone else, especially one that reolved a genuine an interest of hers. So, unknowingly she’s become too immersed, excited in the prospect of it all. Each word she says is filled with genuine enthusiasm and a smile that reaches both ears. “He mostly does guitar lessons. Though because there’s various types of guitars you can learn so much. The Bass guitar is different than the electric guitar, which is different from the flamenco guitar. There’s just so many.” She beams out careful not to sound too excited.
“I’m Yumi.” She pauses to introduce herself. It felt weird to say it at work, not like they were out in another setting getting acquainted over lunch. “Sorry for rambling so much about guitars. Just been a while since I got to speak about it with someone else.” The admittance, truthful in nature is bitter tasting. Residue acid on the tip of her tongue. In a way, it felt too revealing of a comment to share with a mere stranger and possible customer. “Don’t worry about the cash part, my friends pretty understanding.”
“Oh wow, I know the bass guitar is like...meant more for a steady beat, like background kind of a guitar and I know electric and acoustic...but what is flamenco? All of a sudden I’m thinking like...something in The Incredibles or something...” she said, hoping that the other didn’t think she was dumb for asking. Truthfully, Lian felt comfortable talking to her and felt as though she could easily open up to her. It almost felt like she was talking to a friend than an employee of the shop.
“Nice to meet you, Yumi!” she said with a bright smile on her face. “Oh hey, you weren’t rambling at all. It’s interesting and I like hearing about it. So I mean, go for it, ramble away! Especially more so if it’s something you like to talk about,” she said, always eager to share other people’s passions and talk about it with them. She didn’t like people to feel as though they were neglected or as though no one cared about their interests. After all, it was their interests who made them who they were. “Oh, wow...really? Why’s that? I don’t mean to be rude in asking, but it’s a time consuming thing and such a commitment...”

wynghee:
It is true when people say that for every unkind person, there’s a kind one behind them. That incident truly made Younghee believe her day was completely ruined and that she should just go home and stay there for the rest of the day. And then there was Lian, with a bright and friendly smile, pretty much showing her just how different she was to this other man, clearly making her feel at so much ease and, you know, knowing that her day wasn’t completely ruined. “Oh, that is SO generous of you, but honestly? I feel like after that horrible moment, I should just take a break from selling anything today.”
Before she could stop the other girl, she was already pulling the scarf from the trash, prompting Younghee to gasp, noticing how late she was to stopping her. And sure, she had a point, the scarf was beautiful and no one would even notice it had been in the trash just moments ago, but still. “I’m still just so embarrassed, at least you should let me take it home and wash it for you I… gosh, I know I sound like I’m crazy but… I don’t know, I’m just not too used to people being this… good? Especially some stranger, but I’m glad because this is a nice change for once.”
Shrugging it off, she waved her hands, “Oh please! Honestly, as… anti-hygienic as it sounds? It’s not like dirt disgusts me… well, it does! But I mean, it doesn’t bother me you pulling the scarf out from the trash, I just figured people are super against that and wouldn’t do it so I just assumed and… I am rambling, I’m sorry.” a bit embarrassed about her rant that was literally going nowhere, Younghee nodded. “Of course! That sounds like a great idea, and there’s actually one just around the corner! Never been there but I suppose it’s a good place.” or so she hoped.
Lian nodded, understanding where she was coming from. “I don’t blame you...and hey, that’s okay!” she said with a bright smile, trying to encourage the other girl. “You can come back stronger tomorrow and just regroup and relax now. Everything will be okay!” Lian wasn’t sure what had gotten into her to suddenly make her so insistent on trying to make her feel better, but there was something about her that Lian seemed to connect to, something that made her feel comfortable with the other girl which for whatever reason, seemed to bring the excitement out of Lian.
“Don’t be embarrassed! And it’s okay, I can wash it...unless there’s delicate instructions on how to wash it? Like hand wash only? But you can tell me if that’s the case, I can do it,” she insisted, knowing her stubborn side was rearing its ugly head now. “Ah...well I want to say you get what you deserve, but that asshole was definitely not what you deserved...so hey, don’t worry about it, okay? I hope this is the first step for more nice things to happen to you.”
A smile slowly began to spread on Lian’s face as she began to ramble, finding it endearing as she tried to explain herself. “Hey, don’t worry, I totally get it,” she reassured her. “But that’s true, I guess not many people do...and I just want to clarify I don’t normally go digging in trash bins, but this was a special circumstance.” Lian was glad that she seemed willing to go despite all that had happened. “I actually just came from that one! It is really good, we should definitely head over there.”

@wykarin
"Give me cake or give me death!” Lian demanded, slamming her hands on the counter. It had started out as a simple hang out with a friend. The two didn’t really set any plans besides hanging out, going to a cafe and just catching up.
But as they wandered around, Lian began to crave baked goods. And not just any type of baked good, the fresh, made that morning, baked goods. There were a few bakeries in the area, even fewer that offered coffee with it and after what felt like an eternity, they found one that offered a deal on cakes.
As they entered the bakery however, they quickly learned that the bakery had run out of cakes and weren’t going to be making more, and the promotion would be ending that day.
“Can you believe this?” she said, turning to Karin. “What luck we have...I can’t believe we missed out on an amazing deal...”

wyinsu:
“Wow.“ In-su deadpans, drawing it out of the bag. “It’s ugly and I hate it. Thanks.”
It takes him a bit too long to pin it to the front of his shirt, his drunk fingers fumbling and slipping, and once he gets it hooked there’s too much fabric bunched up. And sure–they were supposed to go Christmas shopping for the rest of the team but spiked Butterbeer was distracting. And Lian made it worse.
“I got you something too.” He flicks the metal pin over with his thumb, cheering when he manages to land it on her head. “It reminded me of you.”
Lian watched as he took the pin out of the bag. It definitely was ugly, and it definitely wouldn’t have been something she bought if she had been sober, but alas, she was anything but.
“This is even uglier,” Lian said, catching the pin he flicked onto her head. “So ugly,” she mumbled, but just like Insu, she clumsily pinned it onto her shirt.
She turned to look at the other displays, keeping in mind she still had gifts to buy for other people, but once again, found herself distracted by a new pin. “Here, for you,” she said, tossing it over to Insu. “And look, a matching sweater too. You know this is yours too,” she said, throwing the shirt at Insu.
