I’ve also gotten asks about my coloring process fairly recently, so I thought I’d share my steps when coloring this piece!

Base Tone: With larger piece, i pick a greyish/neutral color as a base. Used for the “atmosphere” of the picture

Colors: Set layers to overlay above the base tone to get those “richer” colors!

Then do your shading/lighting and that’s pretty much it!

I wanted to make a rock star character for some time, so this is Volt! He is based on older Sonic OCs I used to make in grade school. Plays base guitar
