There can only be one.

As a photographer, it's much easier to capture elation than it is dejection, but both are part of the game. Above, Rachel Murphy can’t help but smile as her team finally beat Mourneyabbey in the final, in what was an history event for the West Cork team.
Below, Emma Coakley of Mourneabbey looks on from a distance, framed in between two out of focus West Cork players, as they listen to their captain Aine O'Sullivan giving the team's winning speech. In a final only one team can win, but Mourneabbey can keep their heads high as they gave it their all and fought to the final whistle. Behind closed doors
The restrictions remain in place and the games continue to be played behind closed doors. Even as a photographer, it’s not the same. We want to capture the action of the game, but we want people in the background, it feels empty without a crowd.
A lot of games are being streamed, so family, friends, supporters and alike can see the games, but it’s not the same. Then there are those who can’t stay away, and find a way to watch the game up close, even if it’s behind some bars.  I can’t blame them.

Recently I did a little video on what it’s like to shoot a Camogie game (video below). Would you like to see more?
