I spent the last 4 days absolutely entrenched in extreme writing, so i could meet the deadline. Only for hours after i finish to hear that we have an extra /month/ to write? Im disappointed at best, absolutely pissed at worst right now. I could understand maybe a week, or at the longest, 2. But late october? That's exceedingly too long. Wth

Alright guys so here’s the deal. One: Tyler and I are both teenagers who are full-time students and have other obligations besides this blog. Frankly, this blog is very low on the list of our obligations. Two: Over half of the people who are writing for the big bang have requested extensions/dropped/etc due to the “poorly communicated” deadline. Three: this is a fandom event. On Tumblr. It’s not like we’re duping you out of the chance of a lifetime to write for your favorite news provider/television show/whatever. 

It’s not that deep, y’all. I’m so very very sorry that this has inconvenienced you, but you could have requested extensions like everyone else. You could have been courteous, like everyone else. This is not a legitimate business enterprise or anything, it’s supposed to be fun. For fun. Maybe y’all haven’t heard of that. 

Feel free to post your fics on your own tumblrs and ao3′s, a lot of hard work went into them. Tag us and we’ll reblog, if you’re so inclined.

Also “poorly communicated” deadline. The deadline was set and COMMUNICATED from the very beginning. When y’all asked, we told you “September 29th.” What part of that is POORLY communicated?

Hey not to be a toddler about this but I'm fucking done. Post your damn fics!

I'm so sick of the 2% of y'all who fucking ruined this by being assholes every time y'all asked questions. We are two high schoolers trying our fucking best and like 2% of y'all have been nothing but disrespectful every time you've sent an ask.

I'm a senior in high school. I have band, NAHS, 3 clubs that I run, I'm a writer/photographer for the Newspaper, I take conversion classes every Tuesday night, I had Rosh Hashanah last week and I have Yom Kippur this Saturday, I have school events I have to attend every fucking weekend, I am a volunteer photographer at my local shelter. I have college apps to fucking do. I am currently worried about how we're going to survive because a fucking Wal-Mart employee stole $500 from us that was supposed to go on our prepay card and was literally the only money we had until October 1st. I'm currently living with a dude who tried to fucking kill me and who gave me PTSD.

But yeah, me changing the deadline is what really fucking matters.

I'm sorry it's not ideal, I'm sorry it's late, but all of y'all throwing bitch fits in the inbox don't have my sympathy because you all were allowed to request extensions.

Extensions that I asked no questions about and told all y'all to just finish it whenever you could. Because I understand when life fucking happens and leaves you high and dry.

Anyway, post your fics whenever you want. I'm retiring to the marvel fandom.

Hey, guys! Due to our very busy schedules, we're postponing the official post date. If you could reblog this and share this that'd be amazing!

I know this is extremely last minute but since I won't have beta'd all the fics that have been sent to our email by the 29th AND I want to give fic writers the opportunity to make the changes, we're going to change the official post date to...

October Something???

I'm thinking late October, just because that gives people who have shit going on an entire extra month to write.

Again, our tardiness will hopefully not occur next year IF we do this again.

if we don't have a google docs account, is it cool if we just send our work as a microsoft word file?

We would prefer some sort of document that we can edit and you can see the edits on without us sending it back over to you. However, if you don’t have a gmail account / it’s not within you’re capabilities to do so then sending a microsoft word file is fine.

Follow-up to my previous question, the one about due dates - we never received a clear answer about when the art is due. Is it due on the 19th with the fics, or on the 29th when everything gets published?

The only reason fics are due the 19th is because we want a chance to read through the content and kind of beta it ourselves. Since we don’t need to do that with the art, the art is due on the final due date.

That said, if we don’t/didn’t say something was due prior to the final due date then just assume it’s not due til that final date. Which yeah I know- assuming makes an ass out of you and me, blah blah blah, but if something was due sooner we would have made sure you all knew.
