Texas doctors have been required to submit patients’ private medical information into a state-run website without their knowledge or consent—adhering to a mandate that forces them to report women as suffering from abortion complications even when they’re not.

This rarely reported on section of Texas law lists 28 medical issues as abortion complications—conditions that reproductive health experts point out often have nothing to do with abortion. Still, doctors are required to tell the state about any woman who develops one of these issues if she happens to have had an abortion at any point in her life.

Doctors who don’t make these reports can be fined for each ‘violation’; after three violations, they could lose their license.

Ive said this before but swear the biggest skill to learn as an adult is how to resist high-pressure sales tactics. You do NOT have to answer questions with anything other than "Sorry I'm not interested." No matter how nice they are or no matter how many follow up questions they ask or even how agitated they get when you stand your ground. Just keep saying I'm not interested. i'm a mailman and frankly 'nice dogs' are more dangerous bc ppl who are convinced their dogs are harmless refuse to act. i've literally had dogs be currently biting me/my bag/a package in my hands and the owner will be standing there going 'she doesnt bite'. also last year we suspended package delivery to one house at my office bc they refused to leash or fence their 'super sweet/calm' dog and a month after we suspended them their dog mauled and hospitalized a fedex employee.

Yeah I hope those people got sued into oblivion Jesus Christ
