Info Pro-related mental meanderings (i.e., me in corporate drag as part of an R&D division ). Oh and stuff about YARN [yeah, I knit -- sue me], POTTERY [yup, I throw too], and CATS [since cats & books are like milk and cookies: a natural combination].

Quote
"In President Trump, you have a president whose behavior shocks even more than the content of his policies." “What’s happening here is that the president doesn’t even want to hear intelligence that he doesn’t agree with, and jumps to the conclusion that it must be politicized, and must be the result of people conspiring against him." "...it becomes more likely that mutual mistrust will lead the president and government bureaucracy to actively undermine one another." "A lesson of deep states: Even minor decisions become the subject of political infighting, making basic governance difficult. “We saw in Egypt in 2013 that the result is complete decision-making paralysis." That is one of the milder outcomes. But when institutions with vast power to eavesdrop, fine, harass and detain see themselves as locked in a zero-sum struggle for survival, it is often basic civil liberties and democratic rights that end up in the crossfire."

“Fight Fake news. Know who is reputable.”
Really good chart, apparently compiled by a lady lawyer. And I do like especially that it shows the cesspools on not just the far right, but the far left as well because you cannot forget there are jackasses on both ends of the spectrum. And personally, speaking as a super fucking bleeding heart liberal who was literally a card carrying member of the ACLU by the time I was twenty-five, I like both The Hill and The Economist. They’re ‘serious’ publications, and honestly you can’t just only read people who write all the shit you want to hear, because when you do, that makes us them.
