Making a stranger things TIME CAPSULE!!

logging back before stranger things season 5 drops (2025-ish?)

So i have predictions that i’m 99% sure will happen, and some that i’m like 50% sure.

The first ones:

-rovickie obviously

-(praying for) jancy

-Someone will have to enter Max’ mind to save her- she’s trapped in Vecna’s mind thing- if she does revive, she’ll stay blind

-el has curly short hair (not a theory but i’m PRAYING this is gonna happen)

-will is VERY connected to Vecna+UD

-he was in fact used as el’s substitute by vecna. This will play a bigger role since he’s been targeted since probably before ‘83.

-the russia mind flayer will play a role as well (possibly all around the world?)

-008 will go back into the game (possibly other lab kids)

-time manipulation will play a VERY big role-> someone might do some kind of time traveling (no idea how, i’ve seen a bunch of smart theories)

-El might be lost somewhere, something done By vecna-> which makes me think this is probably what’s happening to Max atm-> she’s lost in a warren wasteland/the void

-Jonathan/ Eleven die

-will dies (by sacrificing himself to save the others) it will be extremely, extremely tragic. It just makes so much sense but just thinking about it hurts so much. There will be a lot of broken hearts but the UD will be over.

So now for the stuff i’m not so sure of:

Most of these are based on parallels, details etc, they’d make a lot of sense, but i’m not sure if the duffer brothers will actually act on those.

-Will has powers- he can manipulate electricity or something in that direction (people say he has “true sight” but to me that’s due to being possessed, not something that actually belongs to will)

-byler has to happen- or mike has to realize his stuff, and mileven will break up. However looking from a GA pov it’s not realistic. LETS SEE!!->

-mileven break up. I think its more likely that mike realizes his feelings for will->realization hits him->wants to act on them->will dies; than realizes->they get together

-Eddie coming back (god i hope this doesn’t happen i’m just listing this up just in case, i don’t think it’s gonna happen tho)

And then questions I hope get answered:

-how Brenner survived

-more info on El’s background. Why did she get kidnapped in the first place? What’s happening with her mother right now?

-more info on the lab- why the hell did Brenner even create that, some background please?

I had a lot more on my mind but these are the ones I thought of in the moment. I’ll look if i find anything else :) add anything if u feel like doing so

Eleven had a boyfriend before she knew that she was allowed to have her own likes and interests

And people still think that she’s in a healthy relationship

El has four major makeovers over the course of the seasons

Mike tells her she's 'Pretty'

Hopper tells her she's 'Not Stupid'

Kali tells her she's 'Bitchin''

But Max is the only one who lets her decide who she wants to be

"not Hopper, not Mike, you"

Everyone else in her life told El what she was. She was 011, or Eleven, or El, or Jane. Max is the only person who let her make her own identity instead of telling what she was or who she had to listen to. She doesn't dress her up in the way she wants El to look, she lets el choose her style. I really think people need to realize that El just barely has a sense of identity. She just goes with the flow, it's not like she got a choice in anything ever. Breaking up with Mike was the first time she really got to express who she was and what she wanted

idc there is no concept funnier than “will comes out to el but she literally doesn’t know what homophobia is.” all i can picture is will, sobbing breaking down, saying, “you don’t get it, el- i’m not normal! i like boys!” and they just sit there in complete silence for an entire minute before el goes, “okay? so do i? why are you crying, will? is it because boys are annoying and gross? i understand. sometimes i do not like that i like them either.” and will is actually so shocked that he stops crying and starts laughing instead

el being will’s biggest supporter. el buying anything rainbow colored she can find, presenting it to will, and going, “will, i bought you these rainbow-colored things. i read a book at the library that said rainbow is the color of gay pride.” el pointing out boys to will in magazines, movies, and at school and asking if they’re cute. el catching on to the fact that will only says boys with black hair and brown eyes are cute and realizing that will likes mike. el shushing will when he finally admits this to her even though she’d realized it ages ago and telling him that it’s okay, she isn’t mad, he’s her brother and no stupid boy is more important than that.

el, after breaking up with mike, trying to help will date him. el urging him on excitedly in the background every time he talks to mike, giving him a huge smile and a big thumbs up. el saying, “mike is very stupid, will, but i am pretty sure that he likes you too.” el screeching and full-body tackling will when he tells her that mike finally asked him on a date. el recruiting max to help dress him up for the date, leading to el AND max becoming will’s biggest cheerleaders. max taking will being gay in stride just like el, her only commentary being, “the only unfortunate part…is that you like mike wheeler.”

+ bonus: will being el’s biggest supporter when she eventually comes out as a lesbian. will almost crying in happiness when el says, “i think i am like you…but with girls.” will buying el any lesbian-colored things he can find. will cheering and clapping and screaming when el eventually tells him that she’s dating max.

will byers ending up with a lesbian defense squad. :)

Sometimes when things are just too much, Max hides out in the school bathroom for a class period or two. El always knows where to find her.

Sometimes they talk about the problems plaguing Max's mind. Other times, they simply sit in silence, hands linked, enjoying the comfort each other's presence brings <3

Two steps and El stops.

She might fail. This could be the last time she ever sees Max, and "stay back" would be terrible parting words for the person she loves most.

Even if she had a way with words, there isn't time for any. A hug would be nice, but hugs - done right - take too long, too.

There's a faster way. Maybe subconsciously it's the glinting tinsel of the Snow Ball setting that gives her the idea.

She's going to kiss Max.

They've never kissed, but there simply is not time for the first kiss that she's imagined so many times, so that won't be what this is. This will be a 100th kiss, like they're already used to it. All meaning and no surprise, no butterflies. If everything works out, she'll give her their first kiss later on.

El turns back, and in one smooth motion, slips a hand behind Max's back and a hand behind her head and kisses her confidently on the lips.

This is not something she has ever seen, not outside or on the TV. It's her own invention. Max is smart and she will know what it means even though probably no girl has ever done this to another girl before.

If she had time, she would have kissed Max more sweetly, softly, much more slowly. She would have let Max hesitate if she wanted to, and looked into her eyes, and touched her face and her hair nicely like boys do girls in movies. She doesn't wish she was a boy. But she does wish that she and Max could be most important to each other in a way that never had to stop for boys.

If she had time, she would have hugged Max, too. A long long hug, the kind that sways and twists because it's too full to stay still. Just because Max is Max. This is what the hand pressed between the girl's shoulder blades wants to be. It is to say thank you for everything and your friendship means the world to me and you are in all my memories where I am smiling and I love you.

The hand cradling the back of Max's head goes with a sort of kiss she's maybe saddest about not having time to give her. A kind El has gotten from Hopper before, although she didn't understand it then as well as she does right now. It would have gone on Max's forehead and been, all at once, as gentle and as fierce as she can possibly be, and she would have held Max's head against her lips for a long time even after it was done. A kiss for a little girl who is alone and scared and maybe does not realize she is worth fighting for. It means you are not alone and I will protect you or die trying.

But the kiss that tries to blend all of that is so woefully short. It's ending by the time Max has even registered that it's happening.

Max's hands fly up to clutch El behind the ears, and she pulls the kiss back onto her lips.

When she thought about kissing El before - and she only now realizes that she had - it was a slow thing where she would run her fingers through long hair. Instead she feels the prickling ends of short hairs on her palms and doesn't know why. Not one detail of this makes any sense.

Max kisses her hard because she can't kiss her long. Everything they have ever felt and might ever feel for each other has to be compressed into a single second. There isn't time for even Max herself to understand everything she means by it. She'll mean it first and decide what it meant later.

The whole thing can't last three seconds, and their eyes don't even meet before El is walking away again, moving out in front of her protectively.

Max is left standing there more confused than before, twice as terrified to watch El do whatever she's about to do.

And yet, somewhere in between her terror and confusion is a little sliver of hope that this is a beginning and not an end.

Hopper catches on about El being in love with Max and he has no idea how to have that type of conversation, and is stressed about it for days. One day on a whim, he slips a piece of paper with “I know what you are. -dad ” Written on it under her door.

El bursts out of her room, terrified. “Dad, what does this mean?”

Hopper failed to see just how horrifying that vague comment could be.

the way elmax being love at first sight is more believable than mlvn being love at first sight (i still dont like the trope generally but just. on an objective standpoint) cause max was quite literally enamoured by el even before she met her and when they did meet...max was so enthusiastic about finally seeing her in the flesh 😭

the dynamic of Max and Will bonding over their crushes on El and Mike and Mike and El bonding after their break up over their crushes on Will and Max and them helping each other to get the girl/boy of their dreams is so so so so precious to me i need more of them i need everyone who sees this post to give me a fic with this exact dynamic PLEASE

In season 5 both Elmax and Lumax will have a romantic kiss scene separately and the show will end with no confirmed couple. When asked what Max ship is cannon, the duffers shrug and say “idk”

Bonus: months later an extra scene is released of El and Lucas kissing. The fandom goes wild and asks for an explanation. The duffers are never heard from again. The go off the grid.
