Sports Lover (Child) Aspiration

This is for that kid who loves sports of all kinds.

Reward Trait

Sports Lover: Sports lovers do better in the Athletic, Military, and Manual Labor careers, learn athletic and sports skills faster, and have a bit better fitness and health needs overall. They also get an occasional energized moodlet.

Requirements

This aspiration requires at least Discover University and City Living.

Overrides

This mod overrides a couple of arena files and incorporates a fix by Zerbu allowing children to attend e-sports games (and is incompatible with that mod). The behavior was in the game already but classically, completely broken. All credit to Zerbu for that fix; I couldn’t find an easy way to incorporate my changes without including this.

If you have Cepzid’s football mod, you can use it to complete the soccer or football task.

Hints and Spoilers

This aspiration includes an interaction-- go to the big game. Kids can ask their parents for tickets or sneak in to the Discover University sports (esports or football) stadium.

Winter sports are skating, bowling, and sledding or snowboarding.

Summer Sports

Summer sports are swimming.

Excelling at a Sport

Sims will perform better at certain sports after leveling up a hidden (or obvious) skill. This should work for jumping into pools, skating, basketball, bowling, and snowboarding.

First Pet Aspiration (+ Bonus)

Plus: Kids can go on Adventures.

There’s an aspiration in the game for adults to be friends with twelve different animals. Here’s one for kids who just want to have, you know, a pet :)

Reward Trait

Pet Caretaker. These sims gain responsibility and pet training faster and have a bit more happiness and less stress than other sims.

Bonus

I added an additional file that overrides the interaction to adventure with Adventurous pets, since it was only enabled for adults originally for some reason. The aspiration and mod don’t depend on each other and can be used separately.

Integrations

This aspiration integrates with any mod that lets kids walk dogs (though it is not a necessary component); I recommend LittleMsSam’s.

Toddler Reward Trait Fix

A patch for the annoying bug that prevents toddlers from aging up with the “Top-Notch” and “Happy” toddler reward traits. I’m not sure what the bug is (apparently this feature is meant to be triggered by a hidden Toddler aspiration which may have broken in the July update), but it’s pretty simple to patch the behavior into a loot.

Kids can use Fabricator

This is a simple update of a mod by TheTreacherousFox. It uses the adult anims, so there’ll be some stretching. Classic for EA, they added extra loots related to child confidence without ever enabling it for children.

Generous Trait

A trait for sims who like giving to others.

Effects:

Sims should have higher autonomy over giving gifts or tips

They get additional whims related to giving. 

They get additional buffs for tipping and more powerful buffs for giving gifts. 

They also tip more generously than other sims, and love giving traditions.

Other sims get a +1 happy buff around them, and they build relationships quicker by tipping.

Known Conflicts:

This mod conflicts with DaleRune’s Tradition Trait Updater. If they are placed in the same folder (or if the tradition trait updater is in an overrides folder or otherwise forced to load after mine), you will get most of the benefit of both mods.
