PLEASE READ!!!!!⚠️
Okay so this is really great because I didn’t know of any alternative to calling and I get anxious calling people bUt this thing called ResistBot will fax messages to your senators/representatives/governor for free but you can just text “RESIST” to 50409 to get started and it’ll tell you how it works. When it gets to the part where you have to write a message you can either write your own or send this (and edit it if you want, I’m the one who wrote it so it’s not the best)
“To whom it may concern,
I am (name) from (city, state), and I am contacting you regarding the proposition to abolish net neutrality by the FCC. As both a student and someone who follows current events, it is of importance to me to have unrestricted access to sites that keep me informed. A loss of net neutrality has the potential to prevent this. Surely it should remain the right of every citizen to be informed; the freedom of the media and of the people to access it is part of what defines us as Americans. Handing over the authority to internet providers to restrict our access to certain sites or artificially slow internet speeds is not in the best interests of the people as a whole. Who will benefit from this? Large companies, who are able to pay the fees required to hasten the speed in which one can access their site(s). What then, will happen to the entrepreneurs, the small businesses, all of the ventures and enterprises that the American government claims to protect? What will happen to news sources and blogs, whose rights to free speech are protected by our Constitution?
For the sake of free speech, free press, and the American people, I implore you to advocate to preserve net neutrality.
Thank you,
(your name)”

Mutation of Heroine Hatred
Yui/Heroine hate back in 2012: She’s so dumb and weak and has no personality at all and she’s a total pushover!
Yui/Heroine hate in 2017: Hey can I get a scenario that involves the S/O or my OC and have them embroiled in a jealousy war with Yui over the Sakamaki/ Mukami/ Tsukinami/ Kino? :)))
Moral of the story: Yui/Heroine hate has not gone away, despite the growing abundance of translated sources that show her as being a smart, strong, interesting woman who is capable of standing up for herself and her beliefs. Yui hate has simply evolved, or rather, mutated into another form, one that is twice as subtle as it is toxic. The hatred is still rooted from the same place as before (internalized misogyny), but it is more virulent and manipulative, because now it teaches you to think that it is okay to hate other women and act violently towards them over a guy.
You may think that fiction =/= reality, but in this particular case, jealousy is very real, and people in real life (especially when they are young and insecure about themselves) will unconsciously absorb messages that re-affirm their darkest thoughts. I’m not saying that anyone who requests or reads a scenario involving Yui and jealousy over the boys is more inclined to start false rumors at school to wreck someone’s life, or become passively mean and nasty towards someone who likes the same person as them, but ask yourself: what kind of message are you, the writer, sending by agreeing to write these scenarios? What does wanting to see two women fight each other over a boy benefit for you, the reader? What does it say about your morality, as a human being?
There is an ocean of things you can write about or request in scenarios. But to indulge in this self-hatred of your own gender is so toxic and can’t possibly do any favors for your own soul or karma.
Note: I used Yui from Diabolik Lovers as an example, bc it is the series that I like, and therefore I see this sort of thing a lot in the fandom. However, this post also applies to the many heroines that exist in other otome games (or any game ftm). Do yourself a favor, educate yourself, and learn to let go of your hate for fictional women.
