I have the head canon that Jonny can draw like really good and if he didn't spend his life doing house work or be a sensei he would do something like draw comics.

I bet he was the one who design the eagle fag logo, i mean he was the one who paint the dojo in the first place.

i LOVE the idea of johnny being artistic and 100% agree he loves it (totally wishes he was born early enough to be hired to draw album covers for rock band vinyls) but i'm also. so sorry. because i can't stop laughing at your typo

New Cobra Kai fanfic goal: write a scene where Hawk and Tory slam an entire bottle of Absinthe and then fucking die

Funny little reminder that Miyagi-do is based on goju-ryu karate and “goju-ryu” literally means “hard-soft style.” The balance already exists inside of it. There are, in fact, softer styles of karate. Goju-ryu is expressly about combining hard and soft elements. The show thought they did something by making Miyagi-do out to be this excessively soft and defense-heavy style of karate that just ~needed~ Cobra Kai’s brutality in order to be Valid and Effective but they did not, in fact, do something. Also it’s not like they even understand what “hard” and “soft” actually means when it comes to karate.

Ok here we go! Finally starting this:

My favourite top three Johnny moments in Season one of Cobra Kai:

1. His speech at the committee meeting. It was heartwarming and it showed that Johnny is willing to accept that things need to change, from how he originally calls his students losers but changes the wording. I genuinely think it’s a great scene.

2. When he chooses to take a break from alcohol and drinks Orange Juice. It’s some of the best character development Johnny has had. I feel all of the seasons do try to imply that Johnny is giving sobriety a shot, but this is the only time where they actually show it. It also seems that Johnny hasn’t had any alcohol for the whole day in that episode. Too bad it didn’t last.

3. At the All-Valley Tournament when he tries to stop Miguel from fighting dirty against Robby. He remembered fighting dirty against Daniel… because Kreese forced him to. Johnny regrets that and didn’t want Miguel to live with that regret.

Now for my least favourite Johnny moments in Season one of Cobra Kai:

1. How he treats all the students when they show up to Cobra Kai. Especially Eli. As an autistic person, I feel for him. Obviously Johnny learned that from Kreese, but it’s not something I enjoy. Especially since he doesn’t grow out of it.

2. How he just abandons Robby. I mean he does this all the time, so I probably won’t mention it in every post, but he knows how bad things are for Robby in this season and just walks away when his attempts to help don’t work out. It’s negligence, which is one of Johnny’s biggest character flaws.

3. How reckless he is as a sensei. It doesn’t get framed as a problem like it should. Between almost drowning Miguel and setting the dogs on his students, it’s a tie between them at which is the most reckless, but I think I’d give it to the dogs, because at least he seemed to eventually realise how bad of an idea it was to tie Miguel’s hands and push him into the pool. Hawk had to get shots for that bite though! Johnny didn’t care much that he was bitten or seem to figure out how bad that move was. He was lucky not to get sued for that.

wait, what?! i remember this conversation in the show, but knowing exactly what demetri said is a little crazy bc erm the situation eli put u in that made you join a dojo… wasn’t that him bullying you?? i can’t even think of any special memories demetri made with karate prior to the all valley besides beating hawk at the school fight. which was powerful, he was defending himself against his bully. karate might have also given him confidence and he used that confidence to ask out yasmine, but why was he genuinely thanking eli for that. my guy he BULLIED you. he BROKE your arm 😭 u forgave him? cool, but that doesn’t change what he did?? if anything, daniel is who helped you on your journey, HE was your sensei. and he was a sensei that understood you a hell of a lot better than the senseis of cobra kai. and the worst part is later in s6, demetri and eli end up having some beef that looks rlly fucking stupid compared to eli literally bullying demetri. this wasn’t supposed to be a rant post, but this conversation is just rubbing me the wrong way

Season 6 Tournament(s) arc [aka if the writers knew how to have fun]

The team makes it into the Sekai Taikai same as before and is told they have 3 month to prepare

They are told 1 week after getting in that the tournament will be held in Barcelona, but are also told that the events will only be unveiled 2 weeks before the start

Daniel and Johnny meet up to talk schedules and training regimens and Johnny suggests something

Johnny : You know how you’re a 2 time all valley champ

Daniel : yes? As are you?

Johnny : well I’m also a 1 time San Francisco Champion, a 1 time Sacramento champ, a 1 time (so on and so forth)

Daniel : !??!

Johnny : you really think Kreese didn’t have us decimating every tournament in the state (and a few in neighboring states)???

Daniel : I wasn’t aware there were other tournaments??

Johnny : well that’s stupid of you ANYWAYS what if instead of just regular training we put them through every tournament happening in the next 2.5 months (on top of regular training of course)

Daniel : that might just be the least crazy idea you’ve ever had

Que montage of the kids sleeping on busses as they travel to tournaments across the state, at rest stops buying snack, standing in the cold with duffel bags half asleep at like 2 am, someone screaming to pull over because they have to go to the bathroom, road trip stuff

And each tournament has different rules

One has no gender division, but does have a separation by weight (Bert featherweight champion lmfao)

One only does duo events

One only does skills and weapons

Just a bunch of different tournaments

We get a montage of every tournament happening and different people winning different fights

A little time lapse of the Miyagi-do trophy wall going from like 3 trophies (2 Daniel 1 Eli) to like 35 as they bring home more and more wins from more and more different events

We get to the point when it’s announced that only 6 can go and 2 ppl need to be selected as captains and everyone is 1,000% more chill about it because they all have a trophy by now

Miguel especially is way less snippy because he can wow Stanford with like 7 trophies instead of just 1 (he’s obviously still a little disappointed but that just how being a competitive athlete is)

They all go into the tournament way more confident

(Maybe Tory doesn’t switch sides because she also won quite a few fair and square and since her mom was feeling better she got to see her win. Still dies, but it’s less,,,,, sucky)

In reality Miguel barely has any idea who Axel is and legitimately thinks that’s what his name was.

Devon Lee is an amazing character and I absolutely adore her to the highest degree possible.

She’s intelligent. Politically active. She’s feral. She’s calculating. She’s unswayed by propaganda. She’s an amazing friend. She does what she has to do to succeed. She admits when she’s wrong. She’s self assured. She’s loyal to those she cares about. She’s insanely strong. She’s caring when she needs to be.

She’s fabulous and I love her.
