OLIVIER FONTAINE:

THREAD | featuring Théodore Chaussard - Olivier is finally going to let some of the anger out that he has been harbouring towards Théo. Olivier isn’t going to get better after this, but worse. He’s going to have an even further spiral out of control.

THREAD | featuring Charlene Hathaway - Olivier and Charlene are going through the motions when it comes to the pregnancy, while Olivier is dealing with his depression that is only worsening with each day.

THREAD | featuring Élodie Chang - Élodie and Olivier are have a discussion about blood in athletic clothing, I want Olivier to take this in a direction of talking about blood that stuck in his carpet from extracting information from someone and potentially develop this into a self-para where I’ll explore him being violent, so I can further his darkness and inflict more violence from him..

Summary: At current, Olivier is really going through the motions of his depression. It’s beginning to affect his moods and ability to interact with others. I really want to see him get into it with a few more people, as I believe I’ll be able to dig to the core of his issues this way and see some character development. 

MELISSA LIN:

STARTER | This is a brand new starter that I posted today, that will open up the ability to use Melissa’s Corporate Law degree. I believe that I’d like to focus on that with her for the time being, allowing her to do some business with other members of the organization and develop her business side.

THREAD | featuring Kerem Dogulu - Melissa and Kerem are having a discussion as to why he seems to hate the Rutherfords so much, and she’s enquiring as to why they keep turning away the hand they’re offering. Melissa is aware of why, but she wants to keep poking the bear and seeing how long it’d take to build some kind of relationship with him in order to bring him over to their side. Just as they have with other Turks.

Summary: At current, Melissa is using a lot of ‘business’ to incite drama on dash. I really want to see her use business to begin building some friendships with their alliances. As for drama I’d like to see Kerem and Melissa get into it so she can report it back to Johnathan and Andrew.

THREAD | featuring various - Now that Lara's apparent death has had time to settle, Yvonne is venturing back out into society. She realized that she didn’t feel much of anything when she thought her sister died and she’s not keen to play the grieving sister.

Summary: Not included in the submission.

ELEANOR SHIPLEY:

THREAD | featuring various - Lara's death has reawakened old grief that Eleanor has been ignoring for years. In an attempt to deal with said feelings, Eleanor visited Henri's grave for the first time in four years and ran into several of Henri’s own former compatriots.

THREAD | featuring Ophélie Redgrave - As part of her quest to deal with her grief, Eleanor sought out Henri’s brother at one of the clubs he regularly deals at. Instead of Paul, she found Ophélie and her brother Gaël.

Summary: Eleanor is revisiting the ghosts of her past.

SOFIE DEKKER:

THREAD | featuring various - Once again shit is happening to Vixens. At this rate Sofie is….not unbothered but also not handling it well. Thus is a chance for Sofie to help Théo with his investigation and for her to start working out with Élodie again.

THREAD | featuring Laurent St. Pierre - Sofie goes to visit an old friend in the hospital after the attack. It doesn’t go as planned because he’s a miserable bastard.

THREAD | featuring Viktoriya Kurylenko - The Kurylenko siblings plot murder in the aftermath of Vorya’s burning.

THREAD | featuring Yana Kurylenko - Maks and Yana are targeting French drug dealers in Haringey and are taking out a team and raiding a stash as a warning to the French about what will happen if they continue operating in the borough.

Summary: Maks is working to escalate the conflict between the French and the Russians.

JEAN PALFROIX:

THREAD | featuring Kathleen Zhao - Jean and Kathleen continue running into each other, and instead of keeping their distance, they seem increasingly drawn to each other. On Jean’s end feelings that he shouldn’t be having start to develop

THREAD | featuring Emilia Lefebvre - Jean and Emilia attacked Vorya after closing, killed Viktorya Kurylenko’s right hand man, and burned the club to the ground in retribution for the hospital massacre.

Summary: Jean is retaliating against the Russians for the hospital massacre and is about to be hit by the powder keg that is Haringey.

JESSICA REYES:

THREAD | featuring Isla Hunt – Isla inquires about taking a day to visit the coast only to find out Jessica is planning a trip away with French Affiliates and sparks an argument between the pair.

THREAD | featuring Kerem Dogulu – What begins as weather bickering, quickly becomes more in regarding their ways of life.

Summary: Jessica is learning to find her own strength in being herself. Her current affection towards her friends is all but a diversion for her to not have to look too far into herself. Surrounded by others, she can forget how lonely and lost she feels.

ÉLODIE CHANG:

STARTER |  What could sound like a simple question about cleaning products, could always have more sinister undertones.

THREAD | featuring Sofie Dekker – Élodie's once student in self defence, she questions Sofie about her willingness to continue her training given all the chaos going on.

THREAD | featuring Elaina Halévy – The plan was changed quickly when Élodie and Elaina spot a big fish with the probability of high reward.

Summary: With the attack on Vixen coming so soon after the shoot out in the Hospital, Élodie is itching for blood. Her nerves are on edge and she needs a kill soon to release her pent up rage. Now if only she could find a good target.

LISETTE ST. CLAIR:

SELF PARA | With six weeks of separation, Lisette calls her daughters at home. She reflects on how she handled being without them and how she intends to move forward with their safety.

THREAD | featuring Théo Chaussard – Having heard about the attack on the Vixens, Lisette meets with Théo to discuss what is being done to help as well as to see how he is managing the stress.

SOCIAL POST & TEXT | featuring Aurélie Parra – To mark her niece's birthday, Lisette reflects on their lives over the years and even begins plans to celebrate with her in Paris soon.

Summary: Lisette grows more comfortably into her life with Théo in her their home and her daughters being back in London. She is always worried about his safety given his work, but she’s looking forward to having more family time soon. With the invitation from Aurélie, the trip away is just what they need to have time away from the chaos.

OPHÉLIE REDGRAVE:

SELF PARA | Ophélie gets dark and her hands dirty, setting into motion a plan to slip fentanyl tainted drugs to the Russian B-Girls with the support of Théo. It actually works.

THREAD | featuring Étienne Canet - Ophélie seeks validation and encouragement from dad, it does not go well and she is forced to reckon with the consequences of her actions, however helpful and useful it may have been.

THREAD | featuring Théodore Chaussard - Instead of heading off to be reckless and self destructive as a means to deal (read: avoid) the messy emotions brought up by the conversation with Étienne, Ophélie seeks out support from a friend. We love this character growth for her.

Summary: Ophélie is learning that our actions have consequences! And that as much as she'd like to, its impossible to avoid them. Ophélie wants to be involved and contribute without reckoning with the full scope of what that means, she will be learning how to cope.

ISLA HUNT:

SELF PARA | Isla considers morality and guilt whilst bored out of her fucking mind laying low due to her own actions aka getting stabby. She decides its not for her.

THREAD | featuring Francisco Vidal - Vidal is rightly still mad at Isla for being dumb. She does not like this and shuts down.

Summary: Isla is also facing the consequences of her actions and it is not going well! She is incredibly bored and restless and angry. She will likely start lashing out at her friends (Jess). Also looking to do more with how prison fucked her up, and then hopefully have her start getting back into doing things. Or maybe she will crash and burn.

ZHANNA MEDVEDEVA:

SELF PARA | Zhanna discovers that someone is intentionally targeting and drugging her b-girls, but they are not at all willing or able to share specifically who is doing this. Zhanna is very angry.

THREAD | featuring Anatoly Veselov - Zhanna proposes her idea to try and get a girl inside of vixen. They disagree on the specifics of who but Zhanna is always encouraging of vixen hunting.

THREAD | featuring Bang Ara - Zhanna asks the assassin to play b-girl for the night to help her figure out where the drugs are coming from.

Summary: Zhanna is fucking pissed about the attacks on her girls and the loss of important income for the Russians. Her focus is on figuring out exactly who is doing this and how. She's considering getting rid of all of her current girls and replacing them with newer, hopefully less stupid girls. She's also worried about Vika and Mikhail still missing. She's not sure how many more losses they can take, particularly within the Vorshevsky family.

STARTER | Théo is starting to look into the newest Vixen disappearances and is giving instructions on the phone....only for it to be overheard.

THREAD | featuring Eleanor Shipley - Théo sees Eleanor at Henri's grave and has some questions as to why she is there.

THREAD | featuring Sofie Dekker - Théo tries to get as much information as he can regarding the Vixen disappearances.

Summary: Théodore is pissed that someone is once again going after Vixens and is determined to get to the bottom of it as soon as he can. Preferably by putting a bullet in the head of whoever is responsible. 

PEYTON HARROW: 

STARTER | Peyton, tired of being scared and feeling helpless, has decided to learn how to use a gun as a means of self-defence.

THREAD | featuring Kathleen Zhao - Peyton starts to confide in her friends about a lot of her fears about working at Vixen.

Summary: The attack on the French and now the newest Vixen kidnappings are taking a genuine toll on Peyton's mental health. She's in a downward spiral, and at this point, truly has no idea who she can even trust.

KEREM DOĞULU: 

THREAD | featuring Berat Yalaz - Kerem and Berat hatch a plan to frame the French for arsons to piss off the Russians.

THREAD | featuring Melissa Lin - Kerem gets ambushed into a surprise meeting with Melissa, and he has no idea why the Rutherford Underboss is interested in him

Summary: Kerem thinks the time has finally come for the Turks to take back Haringey, it's a powder keg that they can take advantage of. His plan is to let the Russians and French take each other out as much as possible, which will allow the Turks whatever is left He's still playing nice with the Rutherfords...for now. But only because it's a necessity that he absolutely despises.

ARIA ROSSI: (voluntary submission)

THREAD | featuring Lyudmila Korshunova - Aria visits Mila at the hospital, even though she knows that it’s a terrible idea considering her loyalties. The potential consequences of this may be interesting to explore.

Summary: Aria is looking for a job and is still avoiding St. Catherine's, however her sister-in-law’s words about the hospital needing her are still playing in the back of her mind. She also is visiting Mila despite the fact that it's a horrible idea, because she can't help but feel like the woman might be lonely and she understands that feeling entirely too well.

SELF PARA | Lyudmila returns to London for Adriana, Damon and Gideon as a means to support them after hearing about Lara Rutherford’s death.

THREAD | featuring Elaina Halevy - The French commandant attacks and seriously injures her, making it the first real targeting of Mila because of her affiliation with Russian mob. 

THREAD | featuring Viktoriya Kurylenko - A thread taking place in the hospital after the attack, in which Mila begins to develop a closer bond with the Russian.

Summary: Mila is now mostly recovering from the attack, which very well changed her stance towards the French, beginning to see them as more of her own enemy rather than the enemy of her husband as before. Seeing the support from Vika there’s also been a change in the perception of the relationship among the two.

YANA KURYLENKO:

THREAD | featuring Anatoly Veselov - Yana and Tolya have been kidnapping Vixens, selling them as prostitutes or their parts on the black market, causing panic amongst both the dancers and those who frequent the establishment.

THREAD | featuring Maksim Kurylenko - The duo are causing problems for French in Haringey, killing off their main dealers and spreading warning message for those working for French in Russian territory.

Summary: After the French attacks, Yana went on to act strategically rather than aimlessly get out of her rage and began to prove her worth and usefulness in the mob by reiterating where it hurts the French business the most.

THREAD | featuring Spencer Berkeley - After recent events and seeing how the violence had affected those she knows, Alexis recalls how her past brushes with it had and continue to hold her back, and she decides to take matters into her own hands, starting with the person most important to her.

THREAD | featuring Leyla Yilmaz - Two besties supporting each other over possibly losing/having possibly lost someone they loved.

THREAD | featuring Ophélie Redgrave - Alexis tries to talk Fee out of a potentially dangerous situation without knowing the gravity of what Fee is planning.

Summary: No spoilers, but Alexis will be more hands on in keeping those she knows safe, which may constitute either building connections or ending them.

HENRY GARCIA:

THREAD | featuring Ara Bang - Henry makes an unlikely connection with the Russian assassin without realizing who she actually works for.

THREAD | featuring Francisco Vidal - After spending time away from London, Henry reconnects with one of the closest friends he has there. Hijinks ensue.

THREAD | featuring Adriana Amaro - Henry deals with the guilt of his perceived selfish choice of visiting Lara in Launceston, when much of her family was unable to do the same. He attempts to fix things with Adriana.

Summary: Henry has been keeping his head down, making sure Adriana remains safe now that they’re back in London. Though he knows Lara is alive, he’s keeping up appearances that he isn’t, which also includes his daughter (future self para).

ADRIANA AMARO: 

THREAD | featuring Aviv Kasyanenko - Potentially, the beginning of the end for their ‘relationship.’ This thread is a dive into Adriana’s early feelings regarding what happened to her sister, as well as showing her internal thoughts about having to knowingly deceive the people she cares about. 

THREAD | featuring Spencer Berkeley - Giving some weight to their established connection, the thread provides further insight into not only their comfortable relationship, but the lengths Adriana will go to when it comes to protecting her sister. Even if it means lying to one of her best friends. Adriana visits him for some much needed support. The only shoulder she will cry on. 

THREAD | featuring Lyudmila Korshunova - Coming back to London after her time away, despite the fact she wasn’t supposed to, to visit a friend in trouble. 

Summary: Overall, Adriana has been jumping around from Tel Aviv and New York, but has finally returned to London, despite the fact she wasn’t supposed to. But in spite of it all, as she’s home, she’s back to taking care of the businesses that Lara left in her care, apart from when she briefly left London to attend some fashion shows. 

LEYLA YILMAZ: 

SELF PARA | Sorry Baby, The Villain Needs You - Svetlana Vorshevsky takes Leyla to make sure that her twins are delivered safely. 

THREAD, THREAD, THREAD | featuring various - Leyla struggles to navigate returning to every day life, knowing she’s unable to tell anybody close to her the real reasons behind her disappearance. Good display of internal monologue.

THREAD | featuring Laurent St. Pierre (and family) - Though she attempts to visit Laurent to break the news that she’s pregnant, she instead finds herself meeting his family, in the process. This thread will be where he eventually finds out.

Summary: Leyla is currently eighteen weeks pregnant, aka almost four months, which means she now knows the gender of the baby! The focus now will be on fixing her relationship with friends and seeing how Laurent and Leyla will work through everything now that he technically knows. Also - very hungry pregnant woman is here.

ANATOLY VESELOV:

THREAD | featuring Yana Kurylenko - Causing problems for the Hathaway. Yana and Tolya have taking to getting a hold of Vixens, and then either selling them off in parts to the black market, or selling them as prostitutes to places outside of the UK.

THREAD | featuring Viktoriya Kurylenko - Where he is about to find out Emilia’s place in what happened to Viktoriya, and the starting point for them to hatch a plan together on how to deal with her. 

Summary: He’s working hard against the French, but not as hard. At this point, there are very few Russians that Tolya is okay with, and he is drifting simply around because he likes what he does. Focus to be possibly on the Russian mob, trying to see what is the best situation that he could place himself in.

ÉTIENNE CANET: 

SELF PARA | Bienvenue à Londres - The taking of Mikhail Vorshevsky. This is an important one, so please, if you haven’t read it, do so. 

THREAD | featuring Delphine St. Clair - Étienne discusses his return to Commandant status after being promoted by Aurélie when she was back in London. 

Summary: He is holding Mikhail hostage in a secret location that few know the details of. Ideally, he would want to get information out of the boy, but even if he is unable to do so, keeping him is doing wonders after everything that’s happened. The focus is still on Mikhail, but he will soon move forward with some extra plans to make Russians lose more power.

FRANCISCO VIDAL: 

THREAD | featuring Kathleen Zhao - A couple of besties. A big progression in their friendship comes as Vidal finally meets her son. A fairly big deal, when he knows she doesn’t share that part of her life with most. 

THREAD | featuring Nevra Erdogan - Though she has had her attention on Adrian for the most part, Vidal is planning to take her under his own wing. Potentially the start of her becoming his right-hand. 

Summary: Vidal has had to shift focus, and the wheels are in motion for him to soon meet with Delphine to discuss the possibility of a tentative alliance. Only time will tell what it will come of this. In the meantime, he is keeping Nevra close in hopes of mould her into something more than an assassin for the organisation.

ELAINA HALÉVY: 

SELF PARA | Heartbreak - Learning that her sister, the other half of her heart, is amongst the French dead. 

THREAD | featuring Lyudmila Korshunova - A taste of revenge, perhaps. Fucking up the wife of Konstantin Vorshevsky just because she can. Elaina left her alive for the sake of future opportunities, and as a clear message to the Russians that she can take their people just as easily as they take hers. 

Summary: Elaina is a fucking mess who probably needs to be put on watch. This time is different than how it was with Tahir because it feels so targeted and her death is all around her. As well, without Noa, she can’t even look at her own face in the mirror without seeing her sister, she can’t sleep, she can’t eat. She is so not okay, but she won’t say it and is drinking, killing, and just trying to fuck shit up.

MIKHAIL VORSHEVSKY:

SELF PARA | Étienne’s Chamber of Secrets - The poor man is in captivity, trying to make the best of a bad situation. There’s not a whole lot he can do right now.

Summary: Not a very fun time for him, as he understands the situation he is in. But he is biding his time, he is staying still until he knows what it is he wants to do. It hurts, it ain't great, but he isn’t stupid, he’s always got something up his sleeve, so just...watch this space.

BANG ARA: 

SELF PARA | Say Cheese - Murder on the dancefloor. Ara successfully takes out Elaina’s right hand man. Creepy, ginger Sébastien (same person, as it turns out) and not Sébastien Pécresse. Nobody panic. 

Summary: Generally, she is now working under the command of Arkady. She is carrying out specific hits in order to get closer to information regarding Mikhail and thus, at the same time, trying to get closer to those who might know something. As always, she is ruthless when it comes to kills, but it’s worth it for information on the golden boy.

ADMIN NOTE. Activity check one.

So, whilst this is primarily an updates page, it will also be where the new, more stringent activity checks will take place. It was discussed briefly before now, but here is where I will formally cover the process of what the new rules will be. If things improve, they’ll drop back down again and be less strict, but until then, these are compulsory, and I shan’t be lenient in the same way I have been until now. 

If you have not already requested a hiatus, it is too late. You can’t wait until you know there’s trouble to do it. If you know you’re going to be busy and away from the group, you know, and you have the time to let me know.

Those excluded from this round of activity checks due to a pre-discussed hiatus are:

These hiatuses are now concluded. To be exempt from the next activity check, you must come to me and request another. Hiatuses will no longer be open-ended. They will last a maximum of two weeks, and you must check in at the end of this period so that I know you haven’t just disappeared entirely. If you have no interest in coming back after this time, that’s fine, but it’s just helpful to know so I don’t hang around waiting forever. 

WHAT CONSTITUTES ACTIVITY?

What is required for activity is now changing. 

One reply a week to a coffee shop starter that you end up waiting another week to continue, just so you don’t technically break the activity limit, is no longer good enough. You have to be here, actively pushing forward the general plot of the group, or, if that’s not the case, showing examples of genuine character development in the meantime. This might sound daunting, but it isn’t. If you think it is, that might be a good sign that you just don’t have the time to dedicate to a group setting anymore. If the dash gets stagnant, and if people are waiting too long for replies on important threads, it just doesn’t work out.

I will list some examples of what passes as good activity, and also, bad. Please note, however, the bad is not always to be discouraged. (Read for further information.)

It simply can’t be all that’s happening. 

GOOD: 

Mob-related plots. Anything criminal, no matter how small, particularly if it ends up being a multi-faction thread, is fantastic. They often open doors for others to react to what’s happened, or for the subsequent planning of retaliation. I’m not talking about big plot drops like people being assassinated or things getting blown up, those come in moderation. But this is a role play about organized crime. I want to see more of it. 

Darker starters. The same starter in a different setting over and over again isn’t going to get anyone excited. Think outside of the box. Make it more Mob-related. If you’re a neutral, witness a crime. Get caught up in something you shouldn’t, and potentially face some consequences for it depending on who replies. If you play a gangster, put your character in a precarious situation and open it up to opposing factions only. Wander into an enemy establishment and cause a fuss. Have someone spot you with a weapon. Pass commentary on politics and see who you can rile up. There are plenty of options to explore if you can give it a little thought. 

Multi-person threads (ie. more than two participants) that create a more interesting social dynamic on the dash. They end up being more fun, and that in itself stokes muse for everyone involved, including those reading. Plan a drunk night out where everyone gets smashed and dragged into drama. Drunk text your boss. Black out, accidentally wander into enemy territory with your boys, and end up in a fast-paced thread between two sides trying to work your way out of it. Some of our most memorable Mob moments came from threads like these. It brings everyone together in character, as well as out, and both are important.

Self paras. If you have the kind of character that doesn’t routinely end up in drama, that’s fine too. Balance social/family heavy threads with self paras. There are plenty of opportunities for character development outside of crime heavy plots. If you’re having a particularly difficult time placing them into what’s currently happening, perhaps try another angle. Maybe some internal monologue about the events in question (especially when news stories start breaking on the Advocate again.) A self para about an important moment from their past that you wish to explore in further detail. A memory with a character important to them. Past trauma, past relationships, insights into family. Deep-dives that make both yourself, and everybody else, feel more connected to the character you play. Let’s get invested in each other’s work again. 

Event planning. Again, this is limited in its frequency, but planning events is a great way to spark an activity surge, so anybody who puts the effort into this, and subsequently being around to host it, gets an immediate activity pass for those two weeks. Bonus points if you can somehow work a nice mob drama plot drop into it.

BAD: 

Text threads. These are absolutely invaluable. I’m not discouraging them in the slightest, because they’re great for social development, and especially for the quick transfer of information between characters. They just can’t be all you’re doing. They will not count toward any form of activity check; seven-day limit included.

Vague starters and replies. ‘I’m sorry, did you say something?’ Don’t always make the other person do all the work. If you’re writing the starter, put the effort in to directing it somewhere. The same with your replies. When you read them back before posting, make sure that they add direction and motion to the thread. Are you giving something for your partner to respond to? No? Then perhaps consider rewriting it so that this changes. Give what you want in return. 

Instagram/social media posts. I love these, and once again, they play a fun and interesting part on the dash. Particularly for breaking personal news to the wider audience. This isn’t me saying don’t use them, because we all like to see little snippets into our characters’ lives, and they’re certainly fun to create. Just make sure they’re not the only thing you’re doing. 

Posting only closed starters. These are infinitely important, particularly for pre-established plots, but by their very nature, they close you off to other people. If you are going to post a mass of closed starters, be sure to post an open as well, or reply to as many open starters as is feasible, to balance it out. A poor closed to open starter ratio is exactly what ends up in bubble role playing. If you can’t handle posting open starters because you can’t keep up, maybe drop a character to limit the workload. Also if you’re going to post an open, be sure to actually respond to the replies you’re getting. I will now be policing open starters to check this. Posting a starter and getting four responses, only to continue with none of the threads after that, is unacceptable. You’re wasting the time of people who put the effort into replying. I am not yet policing those who only post opens, and don’t reply to any of the ones in the tag, but if you don’t start changing it, I will send out warnings. 

SO WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

It means, from here on out, everybody is going to need to be a little bit more conscious about what they’re giving to the dash.

There will still be a seven day activity limit.

On top of that, though, there will now be an extra activity check once every two weeks to assess the quality of this activity. So, you might not technically have been inactive for more than a week, but have you actually contributed? (See good vs. bad activity examples above.) You will be required to submit at least one example of meaningful activity to me. Self paras, contributions to plots, an important thread with somebody that showed some development for your character. I think you understand what I mean by this point in the post. 

There will be a master list of every character linked in a moment. Beside it will be two dates. The date that you last submitted this information to me, and the date the next submission needs to reach me by. This can be done at any time. There will be no specific dates for activity checks. Some of you could owe me on a Wednesday, some of you could owe me on a Saturday, it doesn’t matter, as long as it’s at least once every two weeks. You can also submit early. For example, if you posted a self para five days ago, but you fancy posting another and submitting that to me, too, you’ll have your limit extended two weeks from beyond the point at which you submitted the second self para to me.
