SMG4 Movie Guns N' Puzzles SPOILERS

There is just a bit too much I liked about this movie even if it went as I expected, the execution was brutal.

I'm going to just start with what I think is my favorite line in the whole movie.

SMG4 is RIGHT. And it reminded me of seeing people call Meggy an idiot, a fool, all the things Meggy called herself this episode for offering any help to Puzzles at all. Meggy isn't an idiot, she's just a decent person who saw the broken child inside Mr. Puzzles. Who is this more a reflection on?

Not Meggy, but Mr. Puzzles. He made his choice, he squandered generosity and kindness, and proved to every single person in that room he DOESN'T deserve real friends.

He is 100% right, as Mr. Puzzles is now, he doesn't deserve real friends. Mr. Puzzles had a friendship, a bond, right in front of him that was more REAL than anything he had with Leggy. Not that Leggy's feelings aren't real, but that Leggy barely exists at all, and is some other form of Meggy. Mr. Puzzles can't even view Meggy as herself, only Leggy. That was NEVER going to be a real friendship, even if his plan succeeded and WPNZ wasn't helped by Toomp. Mr. Puzzles probably would have started looking for Leggy in Meggy no matter what, he can barely even say MEGGY properly.

Not to mention WPNZ and all the times he just seemed to LIKE Mr. Puzzles' personality genuinely.

Love the ways he says beforehand with a grin like he warmed up to the show but would've liked a heads up! I wonder what kind of wild crap he got into with Karen because man he adapted FAST. (Not to mention him saying he hadn't had a thrill like that since... LOOKS AT PUZZLES WHILE THINKING ABOUT HIS EX-WIFE??)

And I'm NOT going to forget the way he smiled at Mr. Puzzles here either. The first of what was going to be many as he adapts to Mr. Puzzles' personality. Actually seems to LIKE Mr. Puzzles as he is.

I don't think Mr. Puzzles has EVER had anyone like him as he is. Not in their right mind, at least. Leggy does not count, since it's Meggy NOT in her right mind. Also, love how yeah, Mr. Puzzles definitely DID make WPNZ the star of his next big play...

A huge play of betrayal. Where he tried to frame himself as Meggy's hero, and WPNZ the star VILLAIN of the story. And the more I thought about it, the more I realized, he was just creating a fictional scenario, like something out of a movie. Everything he does is CINEMA, FICTIONAL, and he can't even consider proving himself trustworthy to Meggy in a REAL way. He HAD to make it a scheme.

He had to turn it into something to WIN, to DIRECT, to PRODUCE. He considered THAT trying. That WAS his form of trying, because NO ONE would ever like him under normal circumstances. He, to this point, saw himself as the victim, and never actually saw the pain he was causing to others. It was all a performance to Mr. Puzzles. But I think he's been yanked into cold hard reality for the first time ever.

For the first time ever, his actions have hurt someone in a way he recognizes. It wasn't Meggy's words that broke him when he was all alone. It was WPNZ's. It wasn't Meggy's words echoing in his head when he was all alone, it was WPNZ's.

THIS was what got to Mr. Puzzles when he finally had time to think about it all alone. What I find interesting is how CLOSE Mr. Puzzles was to falling right back into playing the poor innocent victim who just wanted to entertain others.

He was experiencing only rage, focusing on WPNZ's words related to friendship, the bad thing WPNZ said to him, and what finally clicks for him?

"I TRUSTED you."

It FINALLY made him have to see the reality. He's the who royally screwed up. He's the one who ruined his chances, he's the idiot for not taking the chance. For not taking a different fork in the road. For being so obsessed with his first taste of friendship, to seeing it all play out in his head focusing on the future friendship he IMAGINED. He couldn't get out of his own head. He couldn't shut his brain off and enjoy something in the PRESENT, REAL moment, for once. Not for long. He fell right back into what he already knew.

These simple moments with someone who likes spending time with you? Mr. Puzzles never had. Even with Leggy their moments together were contained in big plot relevant places. Not eating a 'dumb gas station snack'. But trying to break into SMG4's Meme Factory or Puzzle Park. This was them slowing down, Mr. Puzzles slowing down for ONCE because he had to.

But I can't even be surprised Mr. Puzzles chose what he already knew. He ALWAYS falls back into what he knows. What he knows is performance and Leggy. His first taste of friendship meant the world to him, he obsessed over it and I can't blame him. But WPNZ was capable of moving on, of feeling like he had a family again here, with Puzzles and Toomp. WPNZ is trying to live in the present. Able to think 'it's okay to have these agonizing memories if you're making new ones with someone else.'

These new memories and experiences were enough for WPNZ, and they DID mean something to Mr. Puzzles too. But nope, Mr. Puzzles is defined by obsession and he just couldn't free himself from it until he realized for the first time what he wasted. He's realizing what SMG4 said to Meggy: 'He's an idiot for not taking it.'

Every chance he got, he wasted it. And at this point I think he'd screwed up too much for any of the crew to give him a chance. But this is still his FIRST real screw up with WPNZ, there might be a chance.

However I fear for WOTFI 2025 now more than 2024, because if Puzzles is going to make some kind of change, truly prove himself, he might need to die for it. Some part of me hopes he lives, another part of me hopes maybe by some weird twist of fate he'll survive, maybe the child we had shown is still inside will be free, who can say? I'm just rambling now.

But I AM scared of the Death Cube still being out there.

And I do NOT like how it looks at all. Along with the mystery of Toomp. All these fleshy, toothy, tentacle-y things between the two of them is making me anxious. Can someone go check on the goop pit at the castle? Make sure no one's messing with shit they shouldn't be?

I have SO many other thoughts but I thought I'd throw my own thoughts in on this a few hours after watching it. And when it comes to shipping stuff, oh Mr. Puzzles and Mr. WPNZ definitely felt like they had tension, but man, I just loved seeing them simply exist together. Their chemistry was top tier, and I can't wait to see what Mr. Puzzles plans to do next and who he will be coming out of this.
