37) “Can I kiss you?” -- 100 Ways to Say I Love You
Featuring: IKON’s Jinhwan [ REQUESTED ]
Word Count: 3k words
Summary: Your friends have been pressuring you to go on a blind date for the LONGEST time, and they even convinced your mom to set you up on a couple. The first few guys weren’t really your style. To put it short and simply, you’re even less keen on the idea of going on a blind date now. But, the final guy might be able to change your mind, in multiple ways…
“Mom I told you I don’t want to go on anymore blind dates.” You said over the phone. You were cooking dinner for yourself in your apartment and your mother was on speaker phone. She’d called a few minutes ago, but you’d ignored her call knowing what is was going to be about. But eventually you picked up because she wouldn’t stop. “Come on dear, just one more? I promise, if this one doesn’t work out, I’ll stop. No more blind dates.” She promised. “Why do I feel that I can’t believe you?” You squinted your eyes at your phone, having a feeling she still wouldn’t give up. “Just because I give up, doesn’t mean your friends will.” She said, sounding pleased with herself. “MOMMM.” You shook your head. “Come on honey, please just one more? What if you end up lonely and single for the rest of your life?” She made her voice sound as dramatically distressed as possible. “If it happens, it happens.” You shrugged. She sighed.
“One more. Just one more, and I’ll stop bothering you. I PROMISE.” She said. You sighed, knowing she wasn’t going to give up. She was the source of your underlying stubbornness, and you knew you’d have to give in eventually. “Fine. One more.” You said. “But if you try to set me up again, I’m blocking you.” You said. She laughed from the other end and you rolled your eyes. “I’ll send you all the information! Okay? I love you! Bye.” She said quickly, hanging up. You let out a deep sigh and had to take a moment to accept your fate. “One more won’t hurt. If it sucks, you can just dip. Yeah, okay it’ll be fine…” You said, trying to convince yourself. Your dinged and you walked over to look at the information your mom had sent you. “Kim Jin Hwan… 1994? Interesting. He’s my age… That name sounds familiar though…” You read up on your date for a few minutes and then went back to cooking. It can’t get any worse than the last one… I hope… You thought.
It’s been a while since your friends had started trying to convince you to go on blind dates. You were all in your late twenties, a couple even in their early thirties. A lot of your friends had gotten married, but only a few had kids. You hadn’t been the most active in terms of dating and guys, partially because you felt like it was a waste of time to search for someone yourself. Your mentally was kind of “If it happens, it happens. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t.” You honestly felt like you had better things to do, such as work, and earning enough money. But your friends thought differently. Many people actually liked you, but you just didn’t care enough and thought it was troublesome to date. And eventually they’d just stop liking you since you weren’t responsive. After letting this happen with more than a few guys, your friends knew they needed to do something to change your mind.
However, unfortunately for both them and you, the past three guys them and your mother had set you up with were complete messes. They had all gone horribly and you were even less okay with the idea of going on a blind date now than you were before. The first one wasn’t horrible, but gosh you’d felt so sorry for the poor boy. He was a year younger than you, and he’d just recently finished a graduate program. He was smart, taller than you, decent face, etc. But he was so nervous, you had to tell him multiple times to calm down and take a deep breath. It was impossible to get an answer out of him about himself, and you eventually got a bit frustrated and called the date off early.
The second one was the complete opposite. First thing, he dressed horribly, and wore pants that were way too tight. Second thing, he would not shut up about himself. Even if you agreed with something or wanted to answer a question, he’d cut you off in the middle and start talking about himself again. He wasn’t even good looking enough to get away with some of it. And the last guy, boy was this one the worst. He catfish-ed your friends completely. He was actually around nine years older than you, you’d managed to grab his ID and look while he was in the bathroom. He was wearing the most fuckboi outfit, but it didn’t go with his age. And he cursed literally every other word, so you couldn’t understand a thing he was trying to say. Anyways, to put it simply, none of them worked out, and you wished you’d never meet any of them ever again for their sake and yours.
A few days later, you stood in front of your mirror, trying to pick out something nice to wear. This time was different, you were apparently going to a nice restaurant so your mom told you to wear something nice, but you were stressing a little because you only had a couple simple things to wear. Besides your work clothes, you didn’t have much of anything else, and you especially didn’t have many nice fancy dresses. “I guess this’ll have to do…” You sighed, holding onto a simple black dress. You picked out a blazer to go with it and began doing your makeup. It was simple, but just enough to accentuate your features. Your eye makeup was just a little bit more noticeable than usual, and you chose a nice lip color as well. At this point, it was go big or go home since it was going to be your last blind date.
You headed out and drove to the restaurant where the date was going to be and you realized that you were still a little underdressed for the occasion. The restaurant was actually inside a hotel. There were a lot of rich looking people around, and you couldn’t even park your car yourself. The valet took your keys and you grabbed your shoulder bag, taking it with you into the hotel. You looked around on your phone for the name of the restaurant and looked around the hotel, eventually asking an employee where it was. After getting directions, you managed to find your way, and you walked through the doors. It was a very expensive looking Japanese restaurant, and when you entered, you told them there was a reservation under the guy’s name, and you were guided to a table. However, as you walked through the restaurant, you realized there were a couple familiar faces sitting at some of the tables. “Oh my god…” You wanted to run away. Two of your friends were on a double date at one table, and your mom was with your dad at another table.
“You’ve got to be kidding me.” You said to yourself. “Did you say something?” The hostess asked, looking back at you. You looked at her a little flustered, “No- no it was nothing.” You shook your head. She smiled a little and nodded, continuing to walk you to your seat. You gave them all the death glare as they smiled and continued chatting away. A few tables away, a guy sat, back facing you and he turned upon hearing the foot steps. And suddenly you realized why the name sounded familiar. It seemed like he did as well. The hostess bowed a little before leaving and you kind of just stood there, looking at him, while he looked at you. “It’s been a while…” He finally said something. “Yeah…” You said. It was a bit awkward and you pursed your lips a little before taking your seat. “You look really nice!” He said. “Thanks, you too!” You smiled a little, and he did as well.
“Wow we haven’t seen each other since what… high school graduation?” He asked. You worked your brain and nodded slowly. “Yeah I think so?” You agreed. It was no wonder the name was familiar and your ages were the same. Kim Jinhwan was one of your friends from high school. You hadn’t really kept in touch after, because of college, but you were pretty good friends back then. You were kind of surprised you hadn’t realized before. “I recognized your name, but I didn’t realize it was you.” He said. “Same actually…” You nodded. “What do you do now?” You asked. “I took over my mother’s music school, and I opened a couple cafes with some of my friends. You remember Hanbin?” He explained. “Oh my god yeah. How is he?” You asked. He smiled brightly, thinking about his friends and you unconsciously smiled as well.
The two of you talked for a little while getting a bit more comfortable, about old friends and current endeavors before ordering. “I usually get the wagyu steak, but the lobster is really amazing too. They specialize in sushi and sashimi as well.” He explained some of the choices on the menu and your eyes grew wide looking at the prices. “Don’t worry about the prices, I’ll pay tonight.” He said, seeing your reaction. “You’re kidding…” You said, the prices were outrageous. The shock was more in reaction to realizing that your friends and parents were sitting in the same restaurant, eating meals that were this expensive just so they could spy on you. “It’s on me tonight! I want to treat you.” He said, a soft smile on his face. You frowned, but agreed. But even then, you ended up ordering the cheapest thing on the menu out of guilt. “Not to weird you out or anything, but a couple of my friends are here, behind you, don’t look, but yeah…” He said. “Wait seriously?!” Your eyes grew wide, you were about to turn, but you realized he’d said not to do so.
“Not to weird YOU out, but same. A couple of my friends are on a double date over there. My mom and dad even came. I almost ran out before I got to the table because I saw them.” You said. You both laughed at the situation and sighed. “They’ve been pushing me to go on dates for the longest time…” You shook your head. “Someone doesn’t sound like they enjoy blind dates…” He said, leaning forward on the table, resting his chin on one of his hands, as if to say, “I’m intrigued” or “tell me more.” You laughed a little and told him about your past dates. Thankfully he laughed at the parts you exaggerated and how worked up you got, talking about how bad they were. “Wow those are quite the experiences.” He said, leaning back in his chair. “Thank goodness you turned out to be okay, I don’t know what I would’ve done, coming to a restaurant like this.” You said. “Honestly, as I was walking through the hotel, I was thinking you’d be some stuck up rich boy who would only talk about himself.” You said.
“But thankfully, I’m not.” He said with a cheesy smile, making you laugh. “Thankfully.” You agreed. After a little while longer, the food came out and the two of you began eating. As you ate, you talked about things that you remembered from high school, and you realized that you two were very similar. There were a few things that he was surprised you didn’t know about, or weren’t interested in. And there were a few things you were surprised he didn’t enjoy, or did enjoy. “How many blind dates have you been on? Since we already talked about mine.” You asked. “This is actually my first one.” He said. “Really?” You asked in surprise. He nodded. “Honestly if I didn’t know you, I’d probably end up being like that first guy you went on a date with.” He said, laughing lightly. “Oh come on, you know that’s not true.” You said. “But I am glad that it was with you. Honestly this feels more like a catch up session than a blind date.” He said. You smiled, blushing a little at his first comment and nodded.
“Gosh… they won’t stop staring.” You sighed, talking about your friends and parents. “Same on this side…” He said, glaring at his friends. “How about we skip dessert here, and dip?” You suggested. “Now that’s a plan I think I’d enjoy.” He said. “Sounds like a plan then.” You said, glad to finally get away from the people you call your friends and parents. You both finished your meals, and Jinhwan asked for the check. The others were all still eating, and realized that you were leaving, but didn’t have the speed or will to eat quicker to leave at the same time with you. “Success.” You said, as the two of you walked out of the restaurant. You sighed and he laughed. “There’s a great frozen yogurt place, a few blocks away, let’s go there?” You suggested. He nodded and followed you out the doors, deciding to go by foot instead of car. As you walked, the weather was nice, not too cold, not hot, and there weren’t an excessive amount of people on the streets.
Occasionally you’d look at Jinhwan through your peripherals, and kind of observe. He wasn’t bad. You hadn’t thought of him as a possible partner back in high school, but now that you’ve grown up, you weren’t opposed to the idea. The conversations you’d had, the way he was treating you well, and his smile was honestly one of the cutest things you’d ever seen. He even had a similar sense of humor, slightly suggestive jokes, and blunt self flattery, etc. He was pleasantly surprised that you’d reciprocated his jokes with ones of your own. When you arrived at the shop, you both picked out something, and sat across from each other by the window, continuing your chatter. Eventually it got a little late, and as you had work the next morning, you decided to head back to the hotel to grab your car to head home. The walk back was a bit quiet, but comfortable and you appreciated it after talking for so long. However, you didn’t fail to notice how his hand would brush against yours in the most subtle but not so subtle way the entire walk back.
“How was today?” He asked, as you both waited at the valet for them to grab your cars for you. “I’d give it an 8/10.” You said after a little bit of thought. “Only 8?” He asked, a little sad, but not really. “One point off because you brought me somewhere so expensive.” You said. “And the other?” He asked. You laughed to yourself. “What?” He asked, wondering what you were thinking. “One point off because you didn’t actually hold my hand.” You teased. His face started to get a little red and you laughed. “I’m kidding, I’m kidding.” You laid a hand on his shoulder to assure him. “The second point was because of my parents and friends.” You explained. “So I should’ve held your hand?” He asked, not caring about the actual answer you’d given. “I mean you could have…” You said, shrugging. “Do it next time, but don’t ask.” You said. “Next time?” His eyebrow raised. You realized what you’d said, and this time you blushed a little, flustered. “I mean if you want to, you don’t have to but-” You started rambling.
He laughed a little and turned away from you as your car pulled up in front of his. He walked you to the drivers side and the valet boy gave you your keys before walking away. “I guess I’ll see you next time.” You said. He nodded and you tossed your bag into the passenger’s seat before getting into your car. He closed the door after you got in, and you began to prepare to leave. But you heard a knock on your window and realized that he hadn’t left yet. You rolled it down and looked up at him. “Yeah?” You asked. He just looked at your for a few seconds and you were a little confused. “Is everything okay?” You asked. “Yeah…” He said. You realized he was being a little shy, and raised an eyebrow, looking at him. He looked at you again and laughed, leaning towards you. “One question.” He said. You nodded, letting him know to go ahead and ask. “Can I kiss you?” He asked, staring straight at you. Your eyes widened and he laughed. “If not it’s okay, but-” You cut him off, saying, “You can.” This time his eyes widened but he smiled.
He leaned in closer and you closed your eyes, his lips touched yours softly, and you smiled into it, making him do the same. He pulled away and smiled greasily. “Do I get my two points back?” He asked. “Oh my god.” You laughed. “Way to ruin the mood!” You said, shaking your head. “I thought I’d give it a go.” He said, shrugging. You sighed, a smile playing at your lips. “But yes. You do.” You said, looking at him with a playful smile. “Yesss!” He celebrated to himself, making you laugh. “I’ll see you next time!” He said, kissing you once more on the cheek before waving and walking away. “See you…” You mumbled, slightly frazzled from the experience you’d just had. You rolled the window up, and your phone ding-ed again, and you checked it before driving off. You laughed as you looked at what it said. It read, “Next time we’ll go some where more casual next time! I’ll make sure it’s 10/10 from the start to finish! ;).” You couldn’t ignore the fact that your heart was beating a bit faster than usual and you could feel little butterflies in your stomach.
You drove back home and unwound, relaxing a bit before heading to sleep, thinking about the date, and Jinhwan. Your mom called you the next morning and you sighed. “So how was your date???” She asked. “It was good.” You said. There was silence on the other end and you looked at your phone. “Hello? Mom?” You asked. “YAY OUR BABY WON’T BE SINGLE FOREVER!” Your mom shouted. “BYE MOM!” You shouted back, hanging up on her. You shook your head and sighed. “When will they let me live…” You whined.

23) “I’ll wait.” -- 100 Ways to Say I Love You
Featuring: GOT7′s Jinyoung
Word Count: 2k words
Summary: After a two year long relationship, your problematic boyfriend breaks up with you and you’re left contemplating your decisions alone at a bus stop. But as you’re sitting, a familiar face happens to walk by and helps you feel better...
NOTE: a little angsty tbh this is a little different from my usual writing style. Just to point out, italics are thoughts. i hope you enjoy reading~!
It was around 8:40 PM, rain was falling, cars were passing by, stopping and going and stopping again in front of you as you sat at the bus stop bench. You sat there, blankly, no thoughts, just listening to the sound of the rain, cars, and people quickly walking past you to get out of the rain. A bus stopped in front of you, but you didn’t move. People filed out while others got on, but you just stared directly ahead. Something had happened. What was it again? What happened… Oh. Yeah, he broke up with you. That boy. That boy you’d been dating for the past two years. Oh yeah, he broke up with you. That’s what happened. The doors of the bus closed and it drove away, joining the river of cars on the busy street.
You sat there, a numb feeling. That’s what happened. It really happened. You’d known it was coming. But at the same time you hoped it wouldn’t. He meant so much to you. But it was unhealthy. And you knew it. Your friends had warned you. But you thought you were special enough to change him. You were wrong. And you learned it the hard way. You thought you were important enough. But you weren’t. And you had to admit it. It made you angry. Not so much sad. Maybe disappointed. Maybe even a little annoyed. But nonetheless, empty. Cars passed by, and you leaned back on the wall of the bus stop. Sigh. What to do now… Your phone was ringing. But it took you a while to notice. A person standing at the stop had to tell you.
Oh. Jinyoung? Why was he calling you? You were staring at it for too long and the call was rejected. Oops. I should probably call him back. Yeah that’s what I should do. Another bus stopped in front of you. Recent calls… hmm. You scrolled through. The other boy’s name was there. You got distracted. Do I delete it? Should I keep it? Will he want to call me? I won’t recognize his number if I delete it… “Y/n?” You heard someone. You looked up, and tilted your head. “Oh my god. Y/n? Are you okay? What’s wrong. Don’t cry. Hey come on…” You were confused. Bringing a hand up to your face your face was wet. But you weren’t standing in the rain. Why was it wet. Oh. You were crying. You hadn’t even noticed.
“Hey… y/n? Hello?” It was Jinyoung. You recognized his voice finally. You looked at him. “What happened?” He asked, looking at you. You looked around, other people were looking at you, but not for long enough to care. “Okay, come on, let’s go.” Jinyoung grabbed your wrist and pulled up. But your legs were weak. He had to catch you. “Whoa there…” He said, steadying you. Ahh he’s warm. How nice. “I’m cold.” You said. “What?” He asked. “It’s cold.” You mumbled. “Yeah that’s because you’ve been sitting outside in this weather for who knows how long. Come on, let’s go.” He said. Pulling you along with an arm around your shoulders to keep you under his umbrella, shielding you from the rain.
Cars passed by. Neon signs were flashing. You were in the city. That’s where you were. Why were you there? You looked around as Jinyoung pulled you along. “Did you eat?” He asked as you waited at a stoplight. Had you eaten? How long had you been sitting there? You couldn’t remember. So you just shook your head. He looked at you in concern. Eyebrows furrowed and a deep frown on his face. Eventually he found a small restaurant he liked, and brought you inside with him. “Hi ahjumma! Two bowls of seolleongtang.” He ordered as he walked over to a secluded table. It was warm. And it smelled good. The food brought you back to your senses a little as you started to defrost. He helped you take your jacket off. And then he shed his as well. You sat down slowly, and he took the seat across from you, a frown still on his face.
“I won’t ask you what happened yet. But you have to eat something.” He said, you could hear that he was a little annoyed. But still very concerned. You didn’t say anything. He stared at you from across the table. Your makeup was a little smudged, a blank expression on your face. You didn’t have your work bag with you so he knew it wasn’t work related. Was it family related? Was it friend related? You were dressed pretty casually, but you still put some effort into it. And then it clicked. It was your boyfriend. He leaned back in his chair, trying to contain his frustration and anger. He knew that boy was trouble. He’d warned you. But you were confident. You thought you could change him. And for a while it seemed like you had. From what he remembered, you were on your second year and you seemed genuinely happy. But looking at you now. Something was wrong.
He watched as you stared off into space. This wasn’t like you. Usually you were shooting sarcastic comments at him, or making an effort to find out how he was doing, etc. But right now you were quiet. You were blank. And it was worrying him so much. What had happened? His thoughts were interrupted by bowls being placed in front of the two of you. He smiled softly to the ahjumma and handed you your utensils. “If you don’t eat, I’m going to feed you.” He said. You smiled softly, but only your mouth moved, and you nodded. He was trying to make you feel better. So you tried to accept it. The two of you ate in silence. The soup warmed you from the inside and you felt a little better.
Around halfway through the meal, you spoke. “He broke up with me.” You said. You looked at Jinyoung. He knew it. You knew he knew it. He was one of your best friends. There’s no way he wouldn’t have known. Seeing you in this state. It was either someone had died or he’d broken up with you. You’d known Jinyoung for ages. Since you were little. Now you were both in your mid-twenties. Working, living, like normal people. He’d been with you throughout all of your past relationships, good ones and bad ones. He’d always been there for you. And you were always there for him. At one point, you liked him. Was it back in like… high school? Something like that. But he didn’t like you then. So you gave up. Looking at him now, he was grown up. A little stubble, defined facial features, a nice voice. A complete package.
He gave you a look of pity, but you could see a little anger behind it. And you shook your head. “You were right.” You said. “I’m surprised it lasted this long.” You added. He didn’t say anything. It was as if you were drunk. You weren’t, but your filter was turned off. “You know. If you’d just gone out with me in college. None of this would’ve happened.” You said. Blaming him for something he had no control over. You were doing it again. Not admitting your mistakes. And you were fully aware. Just too tired to care. And you’d said this before to him. But that didn’t make the comment any less hurtful. He winced, taking the blow, sighing. “Are you drunk?” He asked. You shook your head. “You know what I’m like when I’m drunk.” You said. That was true. He’d witnessed it many times. Up close. And this was far from it.
He knew you were sensitive. He knew you weren’t in the right mind set. But he still felt bad. Back then, he was just too worried. About school, about college, about friends, about everything. It never showed on the outside, but that’s how it was in his mind and in his heart. And he hated to see you hurt. What you said wasn’t wrong. He probably should’ve back then. But he was afraid. Afraid of change. Of you. Of himself. Even though he knew you were genuine. He was afraid things would change. And that they wouldn’t be able to go back to normal. He sighed and didn’t say anything. He left the table to go pay for the food, and packaged up the leftovers for you to take. And the two of you left the restaurant.
Silence took over, you walked on your own this time. Standing next to him under his umbrella as he walked you home. When you reached your apartment complex, you stood under the covering as he shook off his umbrella. “Thanks for walking me back.” You said. He nodded. You looked at him and this time you could feel the tears starting to well in your eyes. He saw this and sighed. “Come here.” He said, opening his arms. You quickly buried your face in his chest and wrapped your arms tightly around him. “I’m so stupid…” You sobbed out. He stroked your head rhythmically with one arm while the other was firmly around your waist, trying to calm you down. And he made up his mind. Once you calmed down a little, he pulled away a little and you let go of him, looking up at his face. He shook his head, wiping the makeup that had smudged even more with his thumbs.
You sniffled and he gave you a pitiful smile. He was about to open his mouth to say something but you cut him off before he could. “Don’t you dare say I told you so.” You warned him. He laughed. Glad you were finally a little bit back to normal. And you smiled a little. “I wasn’t going to say that.” He said. He looked into your eyes and you looked at him a little confused. What was he looking at. You knew your face was probably gross. But still. He sighed, and just hugged you again. He rested his chin on your shoulder and his nose was near your ear so you could feel him breathing. “Don’t you dare go back to him. Do you understand? If you do we can’t be friends anymore.” He said. You tried to turn to look at him, but he wouldn’t let you move. “Hold on let me finish.” He said.
You stopped trying to move and just stood there. “He hurt you too much. He was trouble from the beginning. But I should’ve tried harder to stop you.” He said. You kept quiet. “And you seemed happy, so I thought you were going to be okay. But we were both wrong.” He said, his voice getting a little quieter. “I won’t let it happen again okay. Because I’ll wait for you.” He said. Your eyes grew wide. What was he saying. He let go and looked at you in your eyes. “Eyy don’t look so shocked. I promise. Once your ready, once you’re over him. Until then. I’ll wait.” He said. You could almost feel the warmth in his words and you were getting all teary again. “Stop crying, you little baby…” He said, shaking his head. “Way to ruin the mood…” You said wiping your eyes again. “Hey stop.” He said, wiping the smudges again.
“I thought you didn’t like me like that.” You said, questioning his words. Was it just to comfort you? What was he trying to say. “I was stupid, I was afraid. But I did and still do like you. I have for a long time.” He confessed. “Why didn’t you stop me?” You asked, feeling mixed emotions. “I warned you, I tried. But you didn’t listen to me. I could’ve done more. But I don’t know…” He couldn’t come up with a good answer. You sighed. Once he was done cleaning your makeup again, he looked at you, placing his hands on your shoulders as if to reassure you. “But seriously. Don’t go back to him. Don’t look for someone else. You have me. You always have. And it’s about time. So I’ll wait.” He said, softly. You nodded and hugged him again. “Thanks Jinyoung.” You said.

ice cream (bouquets pt. 3)
Featuring: SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu
Word Count: 2.8k words
Summary: Fast forward four months, and your life has changed quite a bit to say the least. After the wedding, you came back to the States to continue work, but the last thing you were expecting was a phone call from Mingyu saying he’d gotten a job in your city and needed a place to stay...
NOTE: THIS IS PT. 3 TO BOUQUETS!!! This was a request from an anon, they wanted me to make a sequel to my “bouquets” scenario, so here it is! If you haven’t already done so, please read the previous two parts before reading this one! ENJOY~!
“Are there any leftovers in the fridge?” Your phone was situated in between your ear and your shoulder as you walked through the hallway of your company’s building, flipping through large blueprints of your latest project. “Nope, oh wait..... uh yeah, nope.” You could hear Mingyu looking through the fridge on the other end. “Do you want me to pick up something on my way home? Were you going to make something? Or we could go grocery shopping?” You spouted questions. “Depends, when are you coming home? Do you want me to cook something?” He asked. “Uhhh it’s 5:39 right now... I should be off around 6?” You said, looking at you watch.
You made it back to your office, setting the blueprints on your desk, grabbing your phone and putting him on speaker. “Are you hungry? If you are I can start making something?” He asked. “I’m not that hungry yet… but, is there even anything you can use in the fridge?” You asked. There was more shuffling on his end and he sighed. “I’ll pick up some chicken on the way home, how does that sound?” You said, laughing a little. “Okay, and then we’ll go grocery shopping after.” He said. “Sounds like a plan.” You agreed. “Okay I’ll see you later!” He said. “Mhmmm.” You hummed and hung up.
Honestly speaking, it was still a little weird for you. To make it short, after Sujeong and Dokyeom’s wedding, you spent a couple days in Korea to visit family, and catch up with friends individually, or in smaller groups, Mingyu included. You were on better terms, and even made a couple jokes at each other, but at that time there was nothing more than that. And eventually you had to go back to work in the States. Life went back to normal, your week away from reality was over and it was back to the daily routine.
However, around a month or so later, you get a phone call from Mingyu, telling you his friend got him a job at a company in the city you were living in and he needed a place to stay for a little until he got his bearings. Even if you wanted to it would’ve been rude to turn him away, but honestly you were okay with it, so you let him stay with you. Now the two of you had an odd but comfortable relationship; you were housemates, you did things like go grocery shopping together, sometimes you’d go out and get work done at cafes together, simple things like that. While there were times when you felt like the two of you were a couple again, it was a completely different feeling compared to high school.
It has been around four months since Mingyu has been living in the guest room of your apartment. Your old roommate had moved out a while ago, and you never found anyone to take her spot, so you just turned it into a guest room, and it wasn’t a problem since you could afford it. After he moved in, you realized that having Mingyu there came with so many benefits; he cooked, he paid half the rent, you had someone to talk to all the time, and he did a lot of things for you. Not to say that you didn’t do the same for him, but he was and unexpectedly good support system and thus far, you honestly hadn’t thought about him ever moving out.
The first week or so was really awkward, just figuring out habits, schedules, rules, etc. was a lot to think about but you both got used to it pretty quickly. And the two of you managed to stay purely platonic. Despite that, neither of you had gone on proper dates with other people. And honestly the two of you were so busy with responsibilities that there wasn’t enough time to do so even if you had wanted to. But, of course, the possibility of getting back together is quite high and it’s crossed your mind more than once over the past four months.
Mingyu, as well, thought the same. But he was busy trying to get adjusted to living in the States. He’d reached out to you, with the honest expectation that you wouldn’t let him stay with you because of the past, but he was pleasantly surprised and indebted that you did. He knew a guy living in your city, the one who helped him get his job, but he was married and Mingyu didn’t want to burden them. If you hadn’t said yes, he would’ve figured something out, but he was really glad that you did. He knew it was going to be awkward and he was prepared, but the awkwardness went away a lot quicker than he expected.
And even though he’d come with the initial plan of staying for a while and then leaving, he was super comfortable and everything was so convenient that he didn’t want to leave. You were a great housemate as well. Compared to back in Korea with his old roommates *cough* svt *cough*, you did a good job cleaning, you were good about food, you weren’t noisy (at most you’d be singing along to some music in your room, but besides that), and you were very considerate of his personal space, which he really appreciated.
You locked your office door behind you, holding rolled up blueprints in one arm, one backpack strap on your other shoulder. Saying goodbye to your coworkers who were still there, you headed to the parking floor. As promised, you stopped by the local Korean restaurant for some fried chicken, and then drove home. Your work was a little further from your apartment compared to Mingyu’s and the car was yours so you took it, but sometimes if he needed it, you would take the bus. You parked in your designated parking space in the apartment parking floor. Putting your backpack on, you grabbed the blueprints in one hand and the bag of food in the other, before heading up to your unit.
“I’m homeee.” You called out, opening the door. He rushed over from the couch to the entrance in his slippers, grabbing the food and your blueprints for you so you could take your shoes off. “How was work?” He asked. “The same old same old. I want you to look at some of those designs though, one of my clients wants to do this weird thing... you’ll see what I mean later.” You explained. You put your slippers on and went to your room to change and while Mingyu began to set the table and unpack all of the food.
You changed into a comfy pair of sweats and an oversized t-shirt, putting your hair up to keep it out of your face. The smell of the chicken was making its way to your room and you hurried out to start eating. “I’m so glad that this place exists here, Korean fried chicken is the best.” Mingyu said, taking a bite of a piece of chicken. You nodded in agreement doing the same. You guys made small talk while eating and you talked about your days. When you were finished, the two of you both began to clean immediately, consolidating trash, storing leftovers, etc.
“I’ll do the dishes today.” He offered. “Are you sure? You did them yesterday.” You said, hands already reaching for the gloves. “Yeah I got it, I don’t feel like working yet.” He said. “If you say so...” You said, handing them to him. He took them from you and you went to the living room area where he’d set your blueprints down. As you analyzed them, your eyes were unconsciously drawn towards Mingyu. You noticed that as you grew up, things like guys cleaning or doing household chores well became extremely attractive. And this was one of those instances. He was just wearing a plain white t-shirt and a pair of black basketball shorts. He was also wearing his glasses so every once in a while he’d use his wrist to push them back up. honestly he’s such hubby material we all know this
You sighed and brought your attention back to your blueprints, waiting for him to finish so you could go grocery shopping. “I’m done.” He said, putting the last plate on the rack to dry. You got up and went to grab a hoodie to throw on since it was a bit chilly at night, and he did the same. After you were both ready, you grabbed your keys and reusable grocery bags, and the two of you headed down to the lobby floor. The grocery store was only two blocks away so there was no reason to drive. The streets were decently empty, a few people like the two of you around, going their own ways.
Mingyu walked with his hands in the pockets of his hoodie and he would occasionally yawn, making you do the same. “Did you get enough sleep last night? You left pretty early this morning.” You asked. “Sorry did I wake you up?” He asked. You shrugged. “They called me in because something wasn’t working. So I had to leave around 5, but I got back super early and took a nap. My sleep schedule hasn’t been this gross in a while.” He said, frowning. You nodded in understanding.
The two of you grabbed a cart, you pushed while he picked out all the things. Before Mingyu came, while you were capable of cooking and cleaning, it took too much time and you rarely cooked. But now that he was here, you were eating more home cooked meals, watching your diet a bit more, and you even did a little meal planning because he’d make it a mission to go to the grocery store at least once every week. Yet another thing you appreciated.
“Are you craving anything?” He asked as you walked from the fruits and veggies section to the meat and poultry section. You listed a couple things, and he sorted through the ingredients he’d need in his head. You laughed a little at his face of concentration, and he glared. “Be glad I’m feeding you real food.” He said. “I am don’t worry, you just looked funny.” You said, pushing the cart to run away. He sighed and chuckled a little at how childish you were being. He followed after you, picking up a couple things before putting them in the cart.
You made it to the frozen section and you were deep in thought, trying to pick an ice cream flavor to buy. This time it was Mingyu’s turn to laugh. But you were unfazed, still in deep thought. He walked next to you, and pointed a finger near your left cheek, before calling your name. “Hm-OW…” You turned your head towards him and his finger pierced your cheek, making him burst in to a fit of laughter. “I can’t believe you fell for it!” He said between laughs. He was almost in tears. “Yah!” You said, running after him down the aisle.
Eventually he slowed down and you caught him, smacking him on the shoulder. You both laughed as you went back to the cart and ice cream, and this time he helped you pick one out. “You got that triple chocolate one last time, and the mint chip the time before. You should get something else.” He said, remembering which ones you’d purchased the last few times. “Hmmm should we just get vanilla…?” You asked. He shrugged and nodded, not really having a particular opinion.
As you were reaching for a carton, he watched you. Your hair was up in a ponytail, but it was messy, you were wearing an old hoodie that had the name of the college you’d gone to on it. Your sweats were hugged your legs a little, but not too much to be uncomfortable, and your flip flops were worn out but molded to the shape of your foot. You were still wearing your makeup from work, but it had worn out through the day so all that was really left was your simple eye makeup. You were a bit on the taller side, so you were fully capable of reaching to the top shelf where the ice cream was, but you saw a hand reach for it as you did. You turned a little and your eyes widened a little at how close Mingyu was standing to you, all you could really see was his hoodie and collar bone area.
He looked down at you, hand on the carton, but not taking it down. The cold air from the freezer containing all the ice cream and frozen foods was wafting down on you, but you could still feel your face heating up a little. That was something that hadn’t happened in a long time. You looked up at him and he was staring right into your eyes and you were just kind of frozen, not knowing whether to move, to look away, or just stand still. After a little while of looking at each other, he started to move his face closer and your mind was little blank.
It was all just so unexpected, but he couldn’t help himself. He kissed you and you closed your eyes, and instead of bringing the carton down, he let go of it and grabbed your hand which had also been up there reaching for it. The kiss was sweet, simple, and soft, and you were melting. After a little while, he pulled away and you opened your eyes again, looking at him. And you were surprised at what you saw.
He was standing there, a light grip on your hand, but he was blushing, all shy and everything. And you couldn’t help but laugh. “Hey!” He said, his voice threatening to crack a little, surprising himself, making you laugh even more. He laughed as well, and rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly with his other hand. As you were calming down, you saw him smiling at you, and it was one of those loving smiles, full of adoration and appreciation. And you smiled back.
“So vanilla?” You asked, opening the freezer door that had closed, focus back on your oh-so-important ice cream. He chuckled a little and nodded. You grabbed it yourself, tossing it into the cart, never letting go of his hand. The rest of the time, the two of you walked, hands intertwined, only separating when you needed to. And eventually you headed back home, both with grocery bags in both hands. You both walked in a comfortable silence, and at a stoplight, he turned to you.
“So do you want to try again?” He blurted, breaking through the silence. You were a little surprised by his timing but you already knew the question was coming. You looked at him, the red, green, and other lights from the surroundings were flashing, coloring his face. You searched his eyes, looking for something even though you already knew what your answer was, a smile growing on your face. “I think I’d like that.” You said, making him smile and nod. The two of you walked back and everything was just as it had been these past four months, it was comfortable, but with a little more affection.
When all of the groceries were put away, he kind of just looked at you and smiled, walking over, pulling you with him onto the couch. He sat on one side, and slung his arm around your shoulders, bringing you close and you leaned on his shoulder. He turned the TV on, scrolling through Netflix as you watched. “You know, the thought of me moving out, never even crossed my mind.” He said. “Honestly I also hadn’t even thought of kicking you out.” You said. He chuckled at your wording and you could feel it vibrate through his body.
“I guess we both had this in mind, whether we knew it or not then…” He said, looking at you. “I guess so…” You said. He smiled, kissing your forehead and you smiled too. “God what is Sujeong going to say…” You realized. “They’re 100% going to hate us, but they also 100% have to thank us at the same time so….” He said. You laughed and nodded. “She doesn’t have to know yet.” He said. “Let’s just like drop a bomb on Instagram or something, and have everyone freak out about it. Do they even know you’re living here?” You asked. “I don’t know actually, but Dokyeom has a big mouth so maybe.” He said. You shook your head, knowing exactly what he was talking about. “Well everyone will be in for a surprise I guess.” He said. “That’s for sure…” You agreed.
ahhhhhhh so when the anon asked for a sequel it took me a little while to think of what to write but omg i did it and i love it. don’t worry anon, there’s more of this coming, so prepare your heart! AHAHH but yeah, there’s one last part that will be coming after this one so i hope you all enjoy and let me know if you like it, want me to continue other scenarios, etc. shoot me a message!! thanks for reading!!

19) “Can I hold your hand?” -- 100 Ways to Say I Love You
Featuring: NCT’s Jaehyun (& most of NCT127)
Word Count: 2.6K words
Summary: With the messy return of Doyoung, your team is once again whole, and it’s time to get down to business and close this case. With new information, the team finally gets a lead, but before you can do anything with it, you run into another obstacle that you and your team will have to cross.
“Is everyone in the meeting room? Full attendance?” You asked Jaehyun over the phone. You were waiting outside the men’s bathroom where Doyoung was currently washing up and changing. You leaned against the wall, phone up to your ear, holding the USB, expecting it even though just looking at it wouldn’t do a thing. “Everyone’s here. I had to drag Taeil out of his lab on my own, but we’re all here.” Jaehyun said, not particularly thrilled about the fact that he’d had to do so, but nonetheless his task was done. Doyoung walked out of the bathroom, cleaned and dressed in a new set of clothes. “Doyoung’s done, we’ll be up in a few. Oh, and grab the first aid kit too.” The two of you began walking and you hung up.
You both got into an elevator and you turned to face him. “How are you feeling?” You asked, frowning while examining his face which had been tainted with scratches. “Honestly I don’t remember much, I do clearly remember that they threw me around a lot, but besides that every thing is still pretty fuzzy...” He said, trying to think hard about what had happened. “They blindfolded most of the time, but they got rid of it once I got back to the precinct. So I didn’t see their faces, or where we went.” He said dejectedly. “They threw that USB at me before throwing me out of the car earlier. I have no idea what’s on it, but I guess we’ll find out soon.” He said, the elevator doors opening. “Ew we’re on this floor now?” He added, making a face, seeing that you were getting off on the third floor.
“Yeah I know, there’s nothing we can do about it though. This is the best we were going to get.” You chuckled bitterly, walking down the hall. He sighed and followed you. The two of you walked into to the office and Doyoung waved to everyone, greeting them with a smile. You could see Taeyong’s face relax and you felt the same, nodding a little. “Yuta.” You called his name and tossed him the USB. He caught it swiftly and opened up the old laptop he’d brought. Everyone huddled around him and he plugged the USB in. The folder came up on the desktop and he clicked on it. There were a few files on there, two videos and a document. “Open the videos first...” Taeyong said warily.
Yuta moved his hand to click and the video player popped up. It was a low quality video. But you stepped back, immediately knowing what the contents were. The others winced a bit as well, Winwin and Taeil specifically, looked away. It was a video of the first murder. “What sick people... They went as far as to video tape it themselves.” Johnny said. The second video was the same, of the second murder. The audio was clear and you didn’t want to watch. Seeing a dead body was one thing, but seeing the killing itself was a whole other thing. The video ended and you let out a deep breath. “What’s on the document?” You asked, pointing to the last thing in the folder. Yuta clicked on it and you all read the message silently. “Why are they doing this?” Johnny asked. It was a threat, that the more the police pried, the more people would die.
“Analyze the videos again down to every frame, every sound byte, I want it broken down into the smallest pieces possible. I know no one wants to look at those videos again. But, there’s a reason they sent this to us, and we have to find it.” Taeyong said. Yuta frowned, but nodded, acknowledging what he had to do. “We’ll get right to it.” Yuta put a hand on Winwin’s shoulder and the two got up. After the two of them left, you sat down next to Doyoung and began to tend to his wounds. “You really don’t remember seeing anything?” You asked him again. He shook his head, but when he moved, the cotton swab with rubbing alcohol you were holding hit one of his cuts, making him wince. “Ey.. don’t move.” You said. He frowned but made sure to sit still.
You looked past Doyoung and saw that Taeyong wanted to say something from where he was sitting. But you made a warning face, telling him not to push an interrogation on Doyoung since he’d just gotten back. He sighed and nodded. “Take it off, you’re okay enough to do it yourself.” You said, pulling on Doyoung’s shirt. He complied, slowly and carefully taking his shirt off, and you winced at all of the bruises that had begun forming. You shook your head. Jaehyun came over and began helping you with all of the disinfecting and Doyoung’s hand was in a fist, trying to hold in the pain. Taeyong and Johnny had worried faces as they watched the three of you. Taeil on the other hand was focused on the evidence board, looking through the photos and documents to see if they’d give him a hint as to what was missing from the formulas.
You looked over at Taeil and your mind started to run. “Wait.” You stood up. “Those videos didn’t show any use of chemicals. They were only using knives.” You said, walking over to him. “So they were already dead?” He asked. “But you could hear them... I’m so confused, what exactly do those chemicals do?” You asked, looking at his documents. “From the components that I have, it would’ve only disoriented the victims. Look here, like eyesight, smell, touch. These all mess with the senses.” He explained, pointing to different components. “I’ll be back, I need to check those videos again.” You said, heading towards the door. They all nodded and you headed downstairs. “Knock knock...” You walked into the surveillance room and went straight over to Yuta and Winwin who were looking at the video on a big screen.
“Do you have any idea about where this place is? Like what’s in the background?” You asked. “So far, I think it’s some sort of laboratory or a hospital or something.” Yuta said, skipping through frames. “See look here.” He said, pointing at the screen as he zoomed in. The video was taken to show the people in the middle of the screen, with the foreground and background a bit out of focus, but as he zoomed in, you could see the medical tools, flasks, tubes, etc. “The chemicals were a mistake.” You said. “We weren’t supposed to find them.” You thought out loud. The two of them looked at you in confusion. “This is a lot bigger than we thought...” You said, eyebrows furrowing in worry. “Something about these chemicals will tell us where to find them.” You said.
“We need to find anything, labels, signs, anything, in these videos.” You informed them. They nodded and went back to their work as you hurried upstairs back to the meeting room. You reiterated back to the rest of the team what you’d thought of and everyone was in deep thought. “Those missing components are give away hints to where they are, and what they’re trying to do. Which is why they went through such lengths to come into a police station to get rid of them.” You said. “That makes sense...” Taeyong said. “Well now that means I REALLY have to figure out what these things are then...” Taeil said, picking up his documents, heading towards the door. “I’ll help.” Johnny said, following him out the door. “Everyone should be with someone at all times. I’m going to go help Yuta and Winwin.” Taeyong said, heading towards the door as well.
The three of them left, leaving you, Jaehyun, and Doyoung. After putting the last bandaid on Doyoung’s back, he tossed him his shirt and he put it back on. “You should go get some rest, we’ll wake you up if something happens. We’ll take turns checking in with you.” You said, putting away the first aid stuff back into the box. Doyoung nodded and headed off with Jaehyun to the resting room. You sighed, locking the door behind them and sat down again, staring at the evidence board. So many thoughts continued to fly around in your head but you couldn’t get a good grasp on anything. Despite the new information, there were still so many missing pieces, so you couldn’t really start putting things together. You sat there in silence, just staring at the board, trying to articulate something, when you heard someone try to open the door. It sounded urgent, making you get up warily, and you opened it slightly, revealing a winded Winwin.
“We found something.” He said. “Come on!” He started running back without you, stopping briefly to wait for you to lock the door. You hurried over to him and followed him back down to the evidence room. You didn’t ask any questions, and hurried into the surveillance room where Yuta was standing in front of an enlarged frame from the video. You caught your breath as you walked over to get a closer view and stopped in your tracks. “No way....” You said, looking at what was on the screen. It was the sign from a closed down research center that your team had come across a couple months ago, but it had gotten taken off your hands. You immediately called Taeyong while Yuta called Jaehyun, putting them all on speaker. “You’re not going to believe this. Well actually you might, but I need the documents from last year’s October case that we had to hand over.” You explained.
“Why....?” He asked. “Yuta and Winwin found a sign in the background, and it says Hangeum Research Center.” You explained. This research center had been shut down for years, due to an equipment malfunction accident, but from your team’s case you had deduced that people were still doing research there underground. But before the team could get far and get a warrant to search, the case got pulled off your hands and all investigations stopped. Your boss was also wary of the whole situation, but you knew he couldn’t do anything about it since the order had come from the higher ups. “No way....” Jaehyun said. “This really is deeper than we thought...” You heard Taeil say in the background. “I’m going to go talk to the boss. For now get your hands on those documents and just sit tight.” You said. They all agreed and you headed up to your boss’s office.
You were frustrated, thinking about how this case might not have escalated to the extent that it had, if you’d been able to solve that other case. You walked into your boss’s office and he looked at you with a questioning look. “Why were we taken off that case in October?” You asked, sternly. His expression was confused as he could sense the tenseness of your voice. “I don’t know. The higher ups didn’t want your team on it.” He said. “Why didn’t you question it?” You asked. “Are you interrogating me right now?” He asked, standing up. You sighed. “No, I’m sorry... It’s just...” You said, conflicted. “What happened?” He asked, walking away from his desk to sit on the couch. You took a seat across from him and sighed. “Doyoung is back. There is evidence that this case is related to the October case.” You began to list the different things that had happened over the past few hours since you’d last seen him.
He sighed deeply, his face growing stern and conflicted. You observed him in silence and frowned. “You think we’ll get taken off the case again don’t you.” You stated more than questioned. “It was really sketchy how they took you off the first time, I have no doubts they’ll try to again if they find out.” He said. “What connection do they have to this? I know the police cabinet is corrupted but come on....” You were frustrated. “There’s a lot going on in the background. Honestly I think the Hangeum Research Center is connected to the higher ups in ways that are hard to imagine. Do you remember what kind of research they were doing?” He asked. “Not really. All we were really allowed to find out was that it was an equipment accident.” You said, trying to think. “From what I was able to find out during the assessment after your team got taken off was that they were doing enhancement research.” He said. “Enhancement?” You asked.
“Human enhancement.” He said. “You’re kidding me.” You said. He shrugged. “What is this turning into even...?” You were extremely confused and it sounded like some weird sci-fi movie. “That’s all I got. But for your safety, I think you should take a few days off and see if they take you off the case. If they do, then you guys will just have to work in the shadows.” He said. “Seriously?” You asked. “I’ll do my best to cover you guys for now, but I don’t know how much that will do.” He said. “Okay... I’ll let you know if anything else happens.” You said, getting up and leaving his office. You called Jaehyun and told everyone to gather again. You headed down again, getting tired of the monotonous stair case that you’d been walking up and down all day.
You ran into Jaehyun as he was heading to the meeting room and he stopped when he saw you. He looked at your approaching figure. You were still wearing the same clothes from yesterday, your hair was in a messy bun, your face bare, a stressed expression on your face. He instantly felt concerned and you sighed an exhausted smile on your face. “This is so much worse than we thought.” You said to him, stopping in front of him. You explained to him simply and he just stood there, trying to wrap his mind around what was going on. “Are you okay?” He asked. “Honestly no. But there’s nothing we can do about it.” You said, exasperatedly. He sighed. “Can I hold your hand or something? Give you a hug? Do you need a drink?” He asked, wanting to do something to lift your mood up a little. “I’ll take a hug please.” You said, out stretching your arms.
He smiled and enveloped you in a giant hug. “We’re going to solve this case.” He said, his voice ringing in your ears since he was so close. “We better...” You mumbled. He laughed a little and let go of you, grasping your hand a little, giving it a squeeze. You smiled a little and took a deep breath. “Okay, time to figure out what the hell we’re going to do about this.” You were a little bit more energized, thanks to Jaehyun and he smiled at your slight change in mood. He could see a fire in your eyes and you let go of his hand, taking a few steps towards the office. He watched for a second, smiling a little to himself, but you turned and looked at him. “Jaehyun?” You asked, wondering why he wasn’t coming. “Sorry, just thinking about something.” He said, and he jogged over and caught up with you. You raised an eyebrow while walking, but shrugged, opening the door to the office.
to be continued...

22) “It’s not heavy. I’m stronger than I look.” -- 100 Ways to Say I Love You
Featuring: PENTAGON’S Kino (Hyunggu) & OC
Word Count: 1.3k words
Summary: Okay I saw these picks of Kino at IKEA or some furniture store and it just would’ve been wrong for me NOT to write a scenario based on ya boi and I died just thinking about it. But anyways, you get the idea of what this is going to be about. Let’s go bf!kino
also trying out bullet scenarios for the first time so please don’t hate me if it’s bad, i’m just trying to see if this is something that might continue doing LOL
so it’s sunday morning rain is fallin’ jk like it actually is
and the two of you totally slept in longer than you were supposed to
but it’s the weekend so no one really cares
you were the first one to wake up and you mentally face palmed after looking at the clock
like why are you guys like this
you shook kino to wake him up
but instead of waking up he just grabbed onto your waist
and became a koala he’s literally so adorable i can’t
“we have to go to IKEA today dude, if you don’t get up i’m going by myself”
he pouted but sat up, allowing you to do so as well
and you guys got ready together, play fighting over who got to wash their face first
since it was rainy, both of you guys didn’t really want to go out
but you both promised to go to IKEA since the living room and dining room weren’t going to magically furnish themselves
after dating for around three years, the decision was made
and after finding a suitable place for the two of you
you signed the lease and moved in together
it hadn’t been long since the two of you moved to your own apartment
you were both busy people
with full time jobs
so you were rarely home anyways
but two of you had lasted about one and a half weeks
before you concluded that just a couch and a TV stand in the living room wasn’t sufficient
eating on the couch wasn’t an option
it just happened to be an all white couch and stains were a no-no
eating on the floor was becoming a pain and it made you guys go eat out
which meant spending more money
which meant less money for other things like getting a puppy
which was also a no-no
the two of you had just been too busy with work to go together
and you didn’t want to go without the other
just in case they didn’t like something that the other chose
you put on one of his hoodies, and some comfy jeans and sneakers
he matched unintentionally wearing a similar ensemble but a crewneck instead of a hoodie and he added a hat to hide his bedhead
you both got into his car let’s pretend he has a license
and he drove through the rain to IKEA
you both blasted music and sang along
the ENTIRE way there
you guys went inside and grabbed those little pencils and papers that they have at the entrance
that no one ever really uses, but just grabs because its IKEA
and you guys went through the show rooms first
in the beginning you guys were kind of serious
planning things out, looking at different pieces to see what would match
“what about that table with those chairs, oh and that coffee table?”
he tilted his head, not quite sure about your suggestion
“maybe not those chairs, what about those ones?”
you did the same at his suggestion
neither of you guys were THAT stubborn, but you both had particular aesthetics
and sometimes they clashed
but as you guys kept going through, you guys would make jokes and have fun
like you’d both become kids again
and play around in the show rooms
sitting at the desks or on the beds
taking a break, you both laid down on one of the beds in one of the rooms
and looked over your lists of things you wanted
“okay, so you want that table, and those shelves. if we get those will this go with them or no...?”
he checked the things he knew you really wanted and suggested something from his list to go with it
“yeah we should get that one, that would look nice next to the shelves.”
you would agree
then once you both figured out all of the things, you ordered them and went down to the actual store
and got sucked into all of the cheap housewares that they had
you both took pictures of each other and would totally caption it with something really cringey
you were that couple, like you were goals, but at the same time it could be cringey
you picked out some dining room stuff, bathroom stuff, etc. but not things that were extremely unnecessary
and then the two of you went to pick up some of the furniture that was available
most of the things were within arms reach
you switched off, grabbing things from the shelves
there was this one big package for the shelf and you looked at kino, just a little worried he’d hurt himself
he totally looked like he was struggling
“do you need help?”
“uhh...” he was too concentrated to give a straight answer, making you laugh
“no, no I got it! It’s not heavy... besides, I’m stronger than I look.”
he quickly answered as his shaky arms pulled the box off the shelf
but you saw he was having trouble so you helped him anyways
“whatever you say babe...”
you laughed a little, helping him move it onto the cart
he laughed a little too in embarrassment, and you shook your head
“how are we getting all of this stuff into the apartment...”
you guys both looked at the full cart
and sighed
“we can’t go back now...” you said
he nodded and sighed again
you both went to pay and somehow managed to get everything into his car
and stopped by McDonalds to pick up food on the way home
it was s t r u g g l e getting everything up to your apartment
but eventually all of the stuff made it inside
and were put down randomly all over the bare living room
“nap?”
“nap.”
you both were pooped even though you’d only been up for like two hours
so you took a quite nap, before putting everything together
kino did a lot of the putting things together, he was really good at building things?
you helped him out with getting him all the right pieces and then when he finished one thing
you’d move it around and rearranged the layout of the room
you did make some of the smaller things
but he didn’t trust you to make it right since last time with the TV stand
you’d put things upside down and on the wrong sides
so he had to take it apart all over again and do it himself...
but this time you managed to do it all right
so he was a #proudboyfriend
once everything was done you both stood at one side of the room
both of you had your hands on your hips, sleeves rolled up
sweating a little from moving heavy things
and you just looked at each other
and high-fived, nodding in a satisfied silence
“you know, i could probably beat you in an arm wrestle”
“why do i like you” he glared at you
“i’m just saying... your arms looked like jello earlier.”
“good bye, i get enough of this from my hyungs”
he’d start walking away
but you’re like no you don’t get to leave
and grab onto him
and he turns to look at you, trying to pretend to be mad
but he looks at you and just starts laughing because you’re all like
messy hair, no makeup, just pure and natural
and he’s just like i rlly like u
but he doesn’t actually say it
and you’re like why is this dude laughing at me, boi
“are you cooking dinner or am i?” he asked
“can you cook pleaseeee.”
“ew don’t do that, but okay, you’ll have to help me though”
you pouted at him, but nodded
“aw cute we finally get to eat at a dining table together” he said
okay ew bye bullet scenarios are not for me. i’ve concluded, it is now a fact. but anyways i hope you all enjoyed this somewhat... it turned into a total drabble but i had some free time and decided to try it out... also STAN PENTAGON EVERYONE they deserve more and are amazing bois thanks for reading!!

[NEW SERIES] “The Trio” (character introductions)
Featuring: SF9 Rowoon, NCT’s Jaehyun, OC (Ryu Hyejin), & other guest idols
Summary: Jin-Ji-Do’s era has ended and a new one has begun, and SBS is in need of new MCs for Inkigayo. This year, (you), Rowoon from SF9, and Jaehyun from NCT are chosen as the newest MCs for the program. Everyone is extremely excited for the new trio and can’t wait to see their chemistry! But little did they know, it was the beginning of the newest secret love triangle...
(GIF SLIGHTLY IRRELEVANT BUT STILL REALLY RELEVANT)
Ryu Hyejin
After trending on NAVER because of the first broadcasting of the new drama she was co-staring in, this rookie actress got booked with love calls for all sorts of programs. Her looks were average to put it simply, but she had a uniqueness to her that got people interested with just one picture. And her acting was no joke, despite being a rookie, she executed her role and added a whole new dimension to the character. With her newfound, and hopefully lasting, fame she gets an offer from SBS to be one of the new MCs for Inkigayo. Of course, without a doubt she accepted, as one of the best ways for an actor/actress to gain popularity was to be a host for one of the big three shows. Gaining the support of k-pop fans from around the world was definitely a perk that came with the job, and she wasn’t going to pass up such an amazing opportunity.
Kim Rowoon
SBS has had their eyes on this boy for a while, let me tell you that. With his rising popularity through Lipstick Prince, his acting career, and his latest appearance on Law of the Jungle, he’s proven himself to be quite desirable. Standing at a whooping 189 cm, this toll giant is not only witty, but uses his charms and says or does just the right things to capture the listeners ears and eyes. Also with hopes that he would become the “male Seolhyun” FNC was eager to get him more gigs. So when the opportunity came, and SBS swooped in and sent FNC the offer, there was no way he was going to pass up such an opportunity. Especially with SF9′s comeback right around the corner, he was determined to introduce his group to the world.
Jung Jaehyun
He was the last addition to the new lineup of MCs. With the rising popularity of NCT, and after showing his hosting talents through vLive and his and Johnny’s radio show, NCT’s Night Night, this idol has been gaining interest due to his charming and unique personality. During his audition, he totally went overboard with the practice script, but the PD’s loved it and moved him to the top of the list of possible MCs. He also had previous music show hosting experience with Doyoung on MCountdown during the SMROOKIES era. With Doyoung as his Inkigayo predecessor, Mark hosting on Music Core, NCT’s comebacks, etc. It is NCT’s year to take over the charts, and with that there are high expectations. Most of the other possible MCs that were on the list didn’t have the unique shy-but-rude-at-the-same-time charms that he had, so without much debate, he became the last new MC!
HELLO everyone, I’ve been gone for like a week, I still have midterms and I’m dying with all of this work since I’m getting ready to move soon *hints at possible hiatus in the near future, but hopefully that won’t be the case......* BUT ANYWAYS. Since the new round of MCs were announced a couple weeks ago or something, I got the idea, and I couldn’t stop myself from writing this. We’ll see how far this actually goes, it could be like a two shot or like a thirty shot, we won’t know until it happens LOL.... But I hope that y’all will look forward to it! I don’t know if y’all can tell, but Rowoon and Jaehyun are two of my top baises and it’s a problem because slowly but surely all of my scenarios in my drafts section are turning in to their scenarios.... :’( But yeah! Please look forward to this new mini-maybe-not-mini series!!

Featuring: SF9′s Inseong & OC (Jaein Seo)
Word Count: 2621 words
Summary: this was honestly just a drabble that I wrote like a week ago while procrastinating on my midterms... but yeah Jaein (OC) is in a relationship of five years with her boyfriend and she is sitting at a cafe, Inseong works at this cafe as a barista and is in a two year relationship with his girlfriend. However, that day, they both see something they weren’t supposed to see...
Her body was turned to the side as she watched from her seat in the cafe, silently. Staring outside and her gaze fell upon two people waiting at the bus stop directly across on the other side of the street. The grip on the cup in her hand loosened and it fell onto the table, spilling, but she were in a daze. Everyone was looking at her and one of the baristas hurried over to the table and began to clean up the mess. As he cleaned, he saw her hands were shaking a little, but she didn’t move. He looked at her with a worried expression but her face was cold, no emotion showing. He recognized the girl, she’d been coming to this cafe for years, even before he worked there. He followed her gaze out the window, and almost dropped the contents in his hands as well.
The two people across the street, laughing at something the other had said, had felt a gaze and their eyes eventually found their to the two of theirs. And they froze. The barista stood up slowly setting the pieces of cup on the table, looking at the woman. She continued to sit in silence as she looked at the man. They both looked back at the two of them, fear taking over their shocked faces. It was a silent face off, with her and the barista emitting a stronger more hostile aura. But it was cut short as the bus came, and they could see them hurry onto the bus and it drove away. Her and the barista were left staring at an empty bus stop across the street.
After a few minutes she could hear another employee calling a name. She recognized his name. As a regular customer at this cafe, she became familiar with the baristas, and occasionally chatted with one when it was slow. She’d only talked to him once, but she remembered his name as he often was at the register. She slowly turned to him and he met her eyes. The expression on his face mirrored hers. It was a mix of betrayal, anger, heartbreak, and confusion covered by a mask of emotionlessness. It was all in the eyes, and they continued to stared at each other. No words were exchanged, but eventually he broke eye contact and continued to clean up the mess she’d made. She tried to help out a little but she felt weak and nothing she did was really helpful.
He left silently and brought her a cup of water, setting it in front of her before walking away to continue working. She sat there, staring at the table in front of her, trying to register what she’d just witnessed. She sat motionless, wordless, emotionless for hours. The cup in front of her remained untouched. To top it off, it’d started raining outside and she was without an umbrella, she wasn’t going anywhere any time soon. After a few hours of sitting, the cup in front of her was replaced with a new one, and the barista came back with one for himself as well, taking the seat in front of her. She slowly looked up at him and he analyzed her face.
She looked dazed and confused. He’d continued to make mistakes while working so the other employee just told him to clock out early. He sipped his glass of water quietly and she followed suit. She set the cup back down and sighed. “I’m assuming that was your girlfriend?” She asked, quietly. “And I’m assuming that was your boyfriend?” He asked back. She both scoffed bitterly, shaking your heads. “That cheating bastard…” She muttered, feeling a wave of anger. The barista looked up at her, raising an eyebrow slightly amused. “How long were you together? I vaguely remember seeing you here with him.” He asked. “Four years. Today was the day before our fifth anniversary.” Her voice cold as ice. He looked at the girl in a silent shock.
“I should’ve known he wasn’t going to change.” She said nonchalantly. His eyes widened even more. “What about you and her?” She questioned. “Almost two years.” He said. She nodded in silence. “Are you mad?” He asked. “Take what you’re feeling right now and multiply it by at least ten. Then maybe you’ll get the slightest idea of how I feel.” She said, holding up her left hand. His mouth dropped open and he almost jumped out of his chair. She looked at the engagement ring on her fourth finger and laughed. “What a joke.” She slid it off and put it on the table. “What kind of trash….” The barista mumbled. She laughed bitterly and shook her head, the sadness starting to show on her face. “I only got to wear it for a week…” she stared at the ring and had to stop the tears from forming.
He watched silently as she stared at the ring on the table. It was a simple silver ring but he saw initials were engraved on the inner part. It tugged at his heart. He felt less sorry for himself, he’d get over it easier than she would, and she had a much deeper wound. And it was because of his girlfriend. Or now ex-girlfriend. He pulled out his phone and began to scroll through, deleting traces of her on his social media as well as text messages. She just continued to stare at the ring in front of her. No messages had come, no calls, from her fiancé, nothing. “Hey we’re getting ready to close, you guys should probably head out.” The other employee came over to tell the two, and she looked around realizing they were the only ones left. She silently gathered her things and stood up, the barista following suit. He brought the cups back to the counter and then opened the door for her, letting her walk first.
The rain had subdued and it was only a light occasional sprinkle. “Which was are you headed?” He asked her, hands in his back pockets. “I think I’ll catch a taxi.” She said, looking around at the busy night time street in front of her. She walked closer to the curb and waved down a cab. “I guess I’ll see you around.” She said, before getting into the cab. He nodded. She closed the door behind her and began to speak to the driver, the boy unable to hear. As the taxi began to drive away, he suddenly remembered he never got her name. He’d recognized her, but he never knew her name. He couldn’t recall the name that she ordered under, the occasional times that he’d been working. “Yah!!” He heard a familiar voice as he was about to walk away. He turned around and the other employee walked over, something in his hand. “She left this. I have a feeling she doesn’t want it but I don’t feel like it’s my place to throw it away.” He held the ring out with the other hand raking through his hair, not sure what to do.
“I’ll take it I guess, if I ever see with Ara again I’ll give it to her to give to her new boyfriend.” He said, taking the ring. “Will you be okay getting home? I can give you a ride if you wait.” The other employee said, putting an hand on his shoulder. “Thanks, but I’ll be fine.” He said, stuffing the ring in his pocket, and patting the other employees hand before turning to head off. “Don’t do anything stupid! You still owe me so you can’t go to jail or die yet!” The other employee shouted as the boy walked away. “I won’t!” He said, turning and waving playfully before turning the corner of the street. The other employee immediately sent the boy a text saying he expected a text back when he got home, “or else” and the boy laughed. He slid his phone back into his pocket and felt the ring. He pulled it out and stopped walking. He looked at it and read the initials on the ring. “J.S…” He wondered who’s initials they were, they were probably the man’s. Sighing a little, he put the ring back in his pocket and headed back home, ignoring the endless texts and missed calls from his girlfriend.
Three months later…
Dressed in layers upon layers, she walked down the familiar street. The mask covering her nose and mouth provided an important source of warmth, while her hands were stuffed in her pockets, minimizing the amount of skin directly exposed to the cold. It was mid January, and probably the coldest it’d been so far this winter. People were rushing, trying to spend the least amount of time possible outside. And she was one of them. She hurried down the street, her boots making the crunching sound as she stepped on the snow that was left over from the previous night. She slowed however as she came closer to her destination. She stared at the bus stop diagonally across the street. People continued to pass by, some slightly bumping into her as she had stopped walking. But to her it was as if time had stopped. She was sent back three months, and the emotions were starting to resurface, but before she drowned, she heard someone call her name. “Seo-Teacher!!” She turned to see her tutee waving excitedly at her from in front of the cafe.
She still weren’t used to hearing the word “teacher” used with her name yet. She’d only started tutoring about a month and a half ago to earn some extra money. She was currently working part time at a tutoring company and sometimes in the evenings she would teach lessons at her old cram school. So far her goal was to become a middle school teacher, she wanted to educate the new generation. And for now she was on the right course. She shook off the emotions that had shown themselves and walked over to her student, giving him a little shove as they headed inside. He whined a little but took her bag for her and snagged the last empty table by the window. She watched and smiled adoringly, shaking her head, and looked at the menu to see if there was anything new. The atmosphere of the cafe was what she remembered. It was warm and cozy, but big enough for people to have a little bit of privacy as they talked. She looked around, waiting in line, noticing that some of the Christmas decorations were still up.
Some people chatted away, while others were silently doing work or reading. She finally got to the front of the line, also being the last one in line, and she saw a familiar face. It was the other employee that had been there three months ago. He didn’t seem to recognize her, probably because of the way she looked. She was wearing many layers, a black turtleneck, an olive green flannel button down, a black cardigan, and a puffy black long jacket. Also over the span of three months, she’d lost some weight especially in her face, changed her hair style a little but not too much, and changed her old daily makeup to a more natural look. She ordered a hazelnut latte, along with a hot chocolate for her student and then headed to the table after paying. She shed her puffy jacket and laid it on the back of her chair, and sat down. She prepared to begin today’s lesson and her tutee waited patiently but distractedly for her to begin. Just before she was about to start, someone came over to their table.
“One hot chocolate, study hard kiddo! And one hazelnut latte for the hard working teacher.” She remembered his voice. She looked up at him, and he gave her a small smile before heading back to work. It was the barista. What were the odds, the one day she chooses to come back to the cafe, the same two people are there. Her tutee brought her back out of her thoughts, and she began her lesson. The two studied for a couple hours and then the boy got picked up. He was a little bit of a rascal but he was a fast learner, one of her favorites. As she packed up, she brought the cups back to the counter and when she went over she looked for the barista but he wasn’t there. Maybe he was on break. She shrugged a little and gathered her stuff before heading out. Bracing herself for the cold air, she pulled out her mask and was walking while putting it on when someone tapped her shoulder. She turned around and was met with a familiar face. “Hey.” He said, shoving his hand back into his pocket to shield it from the cold. “Hey…” she said, retracting her hand with the mask from her face so she could talk.
“Would you by any chance want to grab some dinner? As friends you know, I mean I know we’re not really friends, but like I’m not trying to ask you out, and like-” He tripped over his own words and she laughed cutting him off. “Sure.” She said. “But only as friends.” She teased. He smiled a little. “I feel like we have stuff to catch up on.” He said. She nodded with a little chuckle. “There’s this really good chicken place I know.” He said and the two of them started walking in that direction. They made small talk as he went on and on about this restaurant. As the stopped at a stoplight waiting for the pedestrian light to change, she analyzed him as he talked. And when he turned towards her a little she noticed something around his neck. “Uh not to be weird or anything but is that my ring?” She asked, pointing at his necklace. It was a simple chain and a silver band ring hung in the middle. To any other person it was a simple ring, but she noticed that there was an engraving on the inside and just had to ask.
“Oh! Yeah actually it is.” He said, immediately taking it off. He slid the ring off the chain and handed it to her. However she didn’t take it, she just looked at it. “Oh yeah, you probably don’t want this… I honestly don’t know why I kept it, I was pretty sure you’d left it on purpose.” He rambled on. She laughed a little. “Yeah I did. I wasn’t expecting to see it ever again…” she said, picking it up from his hand. It was cold, from being exposed to the cold January air, and she analyzed it. “Are those his initials?” He asked cautiously. “No, they’re mine actually.” She said. He raised an eyebrow. “Really? I totally thought they were his.” He said. “That’s how it usually is, the girl has the guy’s and the guy has the girl’s, but he messed up and put my initials on mine and his on his.” She laughed at his stupid mistake, and remembered how silly she’d thought he was when he had been explaining what went wrong. She sighed. “He was really stupid, that boy.” She shook her head, putting the ring in her purse. He just watched her, continuously amused. “So what’s you’re name?” He asked. Face palming internally, she realized she’d never told him her name. “I’m Jaein, Seo Jaein.” She said, holding out her hand for him to shake. “Nice to meet you Jaein, I’m Inseong, Kim Inseong.” He said with a cheeky smile.
ahhh sorry if this was weird?? honestly idk where my mind was going when I wrote this, but as I said before this is 100% a drabble that I wrote to procrastinate during midterms week and well... ta-da? I was going to make this an “insert your bias” kind of thing, but I felt like it was better this way and idk I like how it kind of turned out? but yeah! thanks for reading! STAN SF9! STAN STAN STANNNN I love them so much!

“...and so are you”
Characters: NCT’s Taeyong & female OC (ft. NCT 127)
Word Count: 1911 words
Summary: Taeyong is not one to show his affection openly and you’ve already accepted that you weren’t going to get much from him on Valentine’s Day, and that was perfectly fine with you as you saw it as a materialistic “holiday”. But after talking with his bandmates he felt the need to step up his game…
You woke up at 6AM to your alarm clock and groaned as you tried to find it with your eyes closed to shut it off. But instead of hitting your clock, you hit your boyfriend’s face. “OW...” Taeyong mumbled out, grabbing his cheek in reaction. “Sorry Yong...” You mumbled out as you sat up, having successfully shut the clock off. You rubbed your eyes and massaged your face to try to wake yourself up and you grabbed your phone. You looked at the date and realized it was Valentine’s Day. “Happy Valentine’s Day Yong.” You said, looking back at him still sprawled on the bed trying to go back to sleep. “Happy Valentine’s Day y/n.” He said with a cute sleepy smile. You chuckled and shook your head. “Do you guys have any events today?” You asked, lying back down.
“We have a few events in the morning and afternoon, but after that I don’t think we have anything planned.” He said, going through their schedule in his head. You nodded, wrapping your arm around his torso, resting your head on his chest. He put his arm around your shoulder and rubbed your arm in a relaxing manner. “You’re going to be late for work.” He said. “I don’t want to go...” You mumbled. “You have to go though.” He said, sitting up, forcing you up with him. You groaned in protest, but sat up along with him and got out of bed first. You both got ready as per usual and you kissed him goodbye before he went downstairs in the apartment building to the dorm. (Yes, let’s just say you live upstairs in the same apartment as NCT).
Taeyong entered the dorm quietly, and was greeted by Johnny sitting on the couch drinking his morning coffee while watching TV. “Morning.” Taeyong said, passing by the living room into the kitchen. “Y/n has work today?” Johnny asked. “Mhmm...” Taeyong said, making some coffee for himself. “Are you guys doing anything for Valentine’s Day?” He asked. “We didn’t plan anything.” Taeyong said. “Eyyy you should do something after we’re done with our schedules. At least make her dinner or something.” Johnny looked over his shoulder at Taeyong, disappointed in his leader for not planning anything for his girlfriend. “Do I have to?” Taeyong asked. “It’s Valentine’s Day bro. You should do something.” He said. Taeyong sighed, not knowing what to do. “It’s not like we really did anything last year.” He said.
“That’s all the more reason to do something this year.” Johnny said. “Eh, whatever, I’ll think about it later.” Taeyong said, taking his coffee and going into this room. They all got ready for their first schedules and everyone kept asking Taeyong if he had plans for Valentine’s Day with you. “You’re really not doing anything today with y/n?” Doyoung asked. He just shrugged. “You should at least bring her flowers or something?” He said. “I mean yeah I’ll probably do that, but like I don’t think we’re going to be able to go out and do something special.” Taeyong thought out loud. “That’s true... I don’t know, maybe like have a movie night or do something at home?” Doyoung suggested. “Maybe...” Taeyong nodded. “I don’t know, I feel like we don’t really care for these types of things? She’’ probably think I’m weird.” Taeyong frowned at the thought.
“Trust me she already does.” Doyoung said, earning a glare from Taeyong. “It’s true.” Taeil popped into the conversation. Taeyong frowned even more. “I don’t think it would hurt to just get her some nice flowers, chocolate, cook her some dinner...” Yuta also chimed in. Taeyong sighed deeply, trying to figure out what he should do. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to do anything. He just felt awkward. The two of you had been together for almost three years, and you’d been there for him since the beginning of his career. He appreciated you so much, and you knew he did. He’d send you gifts from overseas, and when he was home, he’d visit your place while you were out working. Sometimes he’d cook for you before practice so you had food to come home to, clean your place a bit so you wouldn’t have to worry about it, or leave cute notes and stuff like that.
However, he felt like he never did enough for you, and like you deserved more since he wasn’t always around to be there for you. He always felt bad, and you could tell. But honestly you didn’t mind. He was usually only gone overseas for a couple weeks, and since you lived in the same apartment complex, it was easy to see him even if they had practice or domestic schedules. You wished he didn’t feel bad, but every time you talked about it, you could never win the argument. And one thing that made you very self-conscious was that he never really said words of affection or appreciation to your face. It was always through texts or over the phone, but you couldn’t really remember him saying it to you in person. He always got embarrassed when you said you appreciated him or he was amazing. As you had no problem expressing your gratitude, you never really understood it, and you rarely thought about it, but when you did you were always very confused.
At work, you sighed, sitting at your desk, playing around with a pen, waiting for emails from your superior’s secretary giving you the okay for a project, and you were just kind of restless. The office was very plainly decorated with little hearts and things like that, but you’d already witnessed three of your female co-workers getting gifts sent to them by their significant others and you sighed. Usually you didn’t care very much for the holiday, and you knew Taeyong didn’t either, but there was a small part of you that still wished you both would do something cute that you could show off. The day went on and eventually you were allowed to go home early and you sent Taeyong a quick message asking him what he wanted to eat for dinner.
On his end, he was a bit flustered that you were on your way home. He was bustling around with the help of a couple members in your kitchen trying to finish up a meal for you. “Hyung! She said she’s waiting for the bus right now. She wants to know what you want to eat for dinner...” Mark shouted from the living room. Taeyong was about to have a mental breakdown. “Will we be able to finish in the next half hour...?” He wondered out loud. “Just tell her that I won’t be back for dinner? Should we do that? Or should I just tell her that we’re doing something and for her to just expect something? Or what should I say?” He spouted out all of these questions and the others were looking at him in amazement. “I’ve never seen him like this...” Taeil said, helping Mark put up some streamers in the living room.
Taeyong had decided that he needed some help to do something special for you for Valentine’s Day. He was debating whether or not to wait until White Day, but he just decided to do it then. On their way home from their last schedule, he and a couple members stopped by a party store and picked up some stuff and some food to make for dinner. When they got back, despite their tiredness, they agreed to help Taeyong out and began decorating your apartment. There were hearts all over your windows and walls and they were in the process of putting up streamers. “None of you are allowed in the kitchen. PERIOD.” Taeyong had warned the other members earlier, earning glares but also acknowledgment after that vLive.
“Just tell her that you want kimchi fried rice. She’s going to realize that there’s no kimchi or eggs here and she’ll have to go buy some.” Doyoung said looking through the fridge. “Do what he said.” Taeyong agreed, going back to cooking. Mark nodded and texted the reply back to you. And of course, as Doyoung had predicted, you ended up heading to the grocery store after getting off the bus elongating the time you took to get home. The others finished up their duties and Taeyong thankfully, but quickly pushed them all out of your apartment, telling them to take the stairs so they wouldn’t run into you on the elevator. He took the apron off, and grabbed the three bouquets of flowers, and waited in the entrance of your apartment with them hiding his face.
You pressed the keypad password and unlocked the door, stumbling a little on the shoes in the entrance before turning the light on. And you almost dropped the grocery bag in surprise. You were not expecting anyone to be home, especially since the lights were off, and you almost screamed. Taeyong quickly revealed himself and started laughing at your shocked figure in the doorway. “Oh my god Taeyong you scared the shit out of me!!” You exclaimed, relieved to find that it was him and you began to laugh at yourself. “Happy Valentine’s Day y/n.” He said, holding out the flowers to you. “This is a very pleasant surprise...” You said, taking the bouquets, or more like being completely covered by them. He took the grocery bag from you and you walked with him into the living room, and you were once again in shock. “When did you do all of this?” You were so surprised and amazed at the amount of decorations and how he took the time to prepare all of this.
“I had some help. But we finished our schedules early...” He was kind of embarrassed, and you could tell he was blushing a bit. You set the flowers down on the coffee table and you could smell food. “Did you cook too?” You said with a gasp, walking towards the kitchen. “I made your favorite.” He said. The dishes were displayed beautifully on the dining table and you were just in awe. “Taeyong...” You walked back over and hugged him tightly. “I thought you didn’t like Valentine’s Day.” You said, feeling bad that you hadn’t done anything for him. “The boys kept saying that I should do something for you and I think you deserve more than this.” He said. You scoffed at the nonsense. “Taeyong this is way more than I deserve, trust me.” You said, still so amazed. “You’re the best boyfriend did you know that?” You said. He began to blush deeply and you laughed.
“You’re the best girlfriend.” He said back to you quietly. You had to step back and look at him. He looked at you in confusion as if he had said something wrong. “It’s so much nicer to hear that out loud.” You said, laughing a little. He laughed at himself. Instead of saying anything, he hugged you again. “I’m sorry I don’t say it more often, but I really appreciate you too y/n.” He said, and you melted. “Now that you’ve said it, I expect more of this in the future, not just today.” You scolded him a little. He laughed and nodded. “Come on the food is getting cold.” He said, pulling you towards the dining table with him to eat.

“sugar is sweet...”
Characters: EXO’s Baekhyun & OC
Word Count: 1963 words
Summary: You work at a pastry store and for the past few days, you’ve been flooded with orders for Valentine’s Day. Your boyfriend, Baekhyun, decides to come help you out!
You stood back and looked at your bulletin board in the entrance of the kitchen from the front of the store, arms crossed, eyebrows furrowed, concentration mode on. You analyzed all of the last minute orders you’d decided to accept and you regretted it as you ran your hands through your hair, taking a deep breath. You regretted letting your right hand woman, Jinnie, take the day off, and you regretted not preparing enough the day before. But it’s not like you could’ve gotten much done the previous day anyways since you were just as busy then as you were now. You looked up at the clock, next to the board. It was currently four thirty in the morning, and you mentally prepared yourself as you picked out the ingredients for the first few desserts you were going to prepare.
That’s how your Valentine’s Day began. Your boyfriend, Baekhyun, was currently at work as well, and you’d agreed on a simple dinner, as you knew you’d both be way too tired to do anything super special or far away from home. You two had been together for a couple years now, so it wasn’t that big of a deal, honestly you’d usually get more chocolate from him when you were on your period compared to Valentine’s Day. He was honestly the best boyfriend you could ask for, despite the times where he annoyed you, he always made you feel like you were the most important person in the world. And you made sure to do the same for him.
You were busy preparing both custom orders and just general pastries for the shop, and despite being alone, you managed to get a lot of work done. You were 100% in concentration mode, making sure everything was perfect, things were staying at the right temperature, etc. Hours passed by and you were open for business, your cashier clocking in at around seven. Right when you opened, you were flooded with a bunch of people, shopping last minute for desserts to give to their significant others and you had to pause what you were doing to help the cashier out. Unfortunately, this was pushing back your productivity in the kitchen.
Once the rush was over, you made sure your employee was okay to take care of everything before heading back into the kitchen. It was around ten in the morning and you were back in the kitchen. Your first few custom orders were going to be picked up soon, so you hurried around the kitchen, trying to minimize the mess as you moved. You wiped sweat off your forehead with your towel, but before you could put it back on your shoulder, someone grabbed it from you instead. Your eyes widened in surprise and you turned to see who it was.
With a smile on his face, Baekhyun held out a small bouquet of roses for you. Your stress immediately felt like it just flew away and you smiled a relieved smile. “What are you doing here?” You asked, taking the bouquet and smelling it a little. “The boss let us all out early, he had plans and he assumed everyone else had plans so he didn’t want to keep us long.” He explained, dabbing sweat drops from your face with the towel. “Where’s Jinnie?” He asked, looking around at the messy but empty kitchen. “I gave her the day off. She was hinting at her plans for today so I let her go.” You said, shrugging.
“Do you want some help?” He asked. You raised an eyebrow. “You want to help me bake?” You asked him, thoroughly amused by his suggestion. Let’s just say from the past few years you’d spent together, you did almost all of the cooking when you guys stayed home for meals. The most you’d seen him cook was grilling meat for bbq, making instant noodles, and microwaveable rice. “Do you even know how to crack an egg properly?” You asked him. He looked offended, but he knew you were right to ask. “I can learn?” He said optimistically. You laughed and nodded. “I could use the help.” You said.
“Go get an apron from the front, and wash your hands.” You told him, taking the flowers to put them in a vase. He nodded and sighed to himself, wondering what he was getting himself into. You were an especially strong person, in character, physique, etc. You had been trained in a strict environment, but Baekhyun saw behind that and he got to see your adorable and soft side more often than he thought existed.
He met you one day when you were catering for an event that his company was hosting and he’d fallen in love with the desserts, as well as the person who created them. He thought your confident, chic, and cool image that you portrayed was extremely charming and you were thrown off by the amount of puns and pick up lines that he’d thrown at you. He came to visit your patisserie many times after that event, and eventually asked you out to dinner one day. After that, you’d naturally gotten closer and became a couple, after a few more dates.
You set down the vase on the counter in the front of the store and went to the back, and found Baekhyun struggling with his apron. You raised an eyebrow but walked up behind him and helped him tie the back. You shook your head as you laughed at how stiff he was. “Dude relax, you’re not going to be doing anything difficult.” You laughed. You could feel him relax a little and you saw that he smiled through the mirror. You rolled your eyes and he turned around after you finished tying the apron. He went to go wash his hands while you went to grab all of the things you needed.
The rest of the orders you had to complete were mostly cheesecakes and simple chocolate or strawberry short cakes, so it wouldn’t be too hard. “You know how to crack eggs right?” You asked, holding a couple cartons of eggs from the fridge. He gave you an uneasy look, and you instantly said, “Never mind.” Instead you gave him the job of measuring out ingredients, hoping he was at least capable of telling the difference between a tablespoon and a teaspoon. “Flour please!” You called over to him, and he hurriedly brought over 2 cups of flour for you, and you smiled at how much he was trying to help.
The rest of the afternoon went on like that, and eventually you got him to crack the eggs for you. You even managed to teach him how to separate the yolks from the whites. Sometimes you’d just kind of stop what you were doing so you could watch him. From the back he looked dependable and like he belonged in the kitchen, but when you looked at him from the front, you couldn’t stop laughing at his contorted face of concentration. “Stop laughing at me!!” He whined, glaring at you. You continued and headed out to give the customer their order, and he frowned while going back to separating yolks. That was your last order for the day, so you were going to head back home after you finished checking up on everything in the front. “Can you bring some more coins? I think besides that we’re fine.” Your cashier requested. You nodded and then began to head to the office.
When you walked into the kitchen to go to the office however, you were greeted by a powdery substance being thrown in your direction. You yelped a little and jumped backwards to try to avoid it, but it still got all over your face and apron. “BYUN BAEKHYUN!!” You shouted, laughing simultaneously. “YAH!” You grabbed a fistful and ran around the kitchen to catch him. And when you did, threw it back at him getting it all over his hair and back. He screeched in response and countered again. There weren’t any customers, but your cashier was watching through the window that looked into the kitchen from the front, laughing at the two of you. After a while you guys calmed down and looked at each other, bursting into an embarrassed laughter.
“Start cleaning this up please and then let’s go home...” You shook your head, going to the back to grab the coins. He nodded and went to find the broom and mop. After everything, including you and Baekhyun to a certain extent, was cleaned up, you and Baekhyun said goodbye to the cashier and headed home. You held hands as you walked home. When you stopped at the stoplight, you turned to look at him and laughed because there was still flour very visibly stuck in his hair. You did your best to shake it out, fixing his hair, and he pouted, but then laughed as well realizing you had a good amount in yours too. You both tried to get flour out of each other’s hair and people were looking at the two of you weirdly, but you were both too concentrated to care.
“We’re both going to need to shower when we get home if we want to go out for dinner. There’s no way we’re going out somewhere nice in this state.” You said, holding his hand again as the light changed and you began walking. “Are saving water or...?” He looked at you with a silly smirk on his face and you rolled your eyes. “Since when were you environmentally friendly?” You shook your head. “I always have been, you’re the one who isn’t.” He said with a ‘hmph’. You rolled your eyes again and laughed. “You know our shower is tiny.” You said. “Exactly.” He said with a smile. “Yah.” You smacked his arm and he glared at you, making you laugh again. You guys arrived at your apartment and you hurried to the bathroom before him and locked the door so you could shower by yourself in peace.
“Water waster.” He shouted from outside the door. You laughed in response and he just shook his head. He showered after you and the two of you got ready together to go out to a nice dinner. Instead of a fancy restaurant with prior booked reservations, you went to a small diner down the street that the two of you enjoyed frequenting, and shared a milkshake after eating while talking about your weeks and wholesome things like that. “Thanks for coming to help me out today.” You guys were walking back to your apartment after eating, his hand around your shoulder as you walked at a relaxed pace. The street lights were on and it wasn’t too cold outside, so it was comfortable. “I knew how stressed you were... I’m glad I could help even if it was just measuring things.” He said.
“You do realized that’s the most tedious thing about baking right? You helped out a lot.” You explained to him. “Really?” He asked. “If you don’t have the right amount of something, a cake or whatever can turn out completely weird.” You said. “Don’t people usually just eye it?” He asked. “Yeah, but I like to be precise.” You said. “Perfectionist.” He teased. You were proud of it though. “Who’s the one who fell in love with my desserts?” You asked. He laughed and nodded. “That would be me.” He acknowledged it. You laughed and hugged him. "But really though, thanks for coming.” You said. “Maybe I should start working there instead.” He joked. “No, you earn more money at the office.” You immediately denied. He laughed and nodded. “Okay I won’t work there then.” He reassured you. “Good.” You laughed.
I seriously apologize for these horrible endings. Like I cannot end a scenario well for the life of me... I wonder if I’ll ever get any better HAHHAHA but anyways! The last part of the valentine’s day series should be coming out tomorrow so please look forward to it! :)

“violets are blue...”
Characters: IKON’s Bobby & OC
Word Count: 2158 words
Summary: You never really liked Valentine’s Day, mostly because your ex-boyfriend never did anything special except a small box of chocolates a day late. You’re stuck working the closing shift at the restaurant you work at since you’re single, and you’re surrounded by couples. But, your co-worker Bobby decides that it is his mission to you smile a bit…
It was that day again. You always kind of forgot about it until maybe a week or so before it happened, and especially after your breakups couple years back, you kind of despised the holiday. Valentine’s Day. It was a day fully of excessive PDA, an influx of lovey-dovey social media updates by couples, and an unwelcome awareness of how single you were. And especially for you this year, being a hostess at a nice restaurant, you were forced to serve and deal with couples all night.
You didn’t usually work the dinner/closing shift on weekdays, but since other employees who had Valentine’s Day plans asked for the evening off, being single you got the back end of the stick and had to change shifts. You had to mentally prepare yourself for all of the couples that would be coming in and dining, sitting next to each other rather than across from each other, which you still didn’t quite understand the logic behind.
You walked into the mall where the restaurant was located at, all of the stores had pink accents, hearts plastered on the walls and windows. You headed into the bathroom to change into your work clothes, a simple white button down with a pair of ankle cut black slacks. You tied your hair up in a high ponytail and fixed your makeup in the mirror. With a deep sigh, you headed back out into the mall and to the restaurant.
The restaurant you worked at was a medium-high end restaurant, the food was pretty good for its prices, and it was an aesthetically pleasing place to eat at. When you walked inside you were instantly greeted by the white and wooden interior decor, but today it was decorated with candles, red and pink accents, roses and the strong smell of chocolate desserts. “Wow…” You were a bit overwhelmed by the appearance, taking a deep breath before going to the back to store your belongings.
The dinner rush was about to begin, and you got situated at the front podium, organizing the menus, finishing up the last lead’s checks, and you said hi to your co-workers and they passed by. “No plans tonight?” You heard a familiar voice ask. He leaned over the podium and you replied a short, “Nope,” without looking at him, and he frowned. “You know it’s rude to ignore someone when they’re talking to you.” He said. You looked up at him, and gave him the “what-do-you-want” face.
His name was Bobby, but sometimes you called him asshole. He was one of the best hosts the restaurant had, and it was always an easier shift for you when he was working. He knew everything, he was good with customers, he was very welcoming, and overall he was just really good at his job. You couldn’t remember the last time someone complained about him. And you were pretty sure that when, if a customer got annoyed with him, it wouldn’t last long enough or be that big of deal. Despite that, he managed to get on your nerves at least three times a shift. But he was the one you were most comfortable with. He often managed to get you to talk about your problems, and you appreciated all of the things he did for you even though he was just a co-worker.
It wasn’t because he was doing anything wrong, he was just so much of an extrovert compared to you. Honestly speaking, it was hard to keep up with his energy. When you were stuck at the podium with him and things were slow, he’d play games with you, ask you questions, talk about random things he’d seen that day, etc. He just didn’t like awkward silences. Sometimes, although it was a rarity, a comfortable silence fell between the two of you when one had to concentrate or he knew you weren’t in that good of a mood. But he was nicer to you than other hostesses, you didn’t notice, but the other female employees noticed how he’d taken a keen liking to you over them.
He looked at you shied away, seeing how you weren’t in a good mood. And you instantly felt bad. “Sorry, Valentine’s Day is just not a good day.” You explained. He raised an eyebrow, but didn’t pry. Your shifts started, and couples started to file in, holding hands, arms around each other, and your mood was getting worse and worse, but you had to hide it and be a decent hostess. You brought one couple to a booth, and they sat on the same side, you groaned internally before reading them the tonights specials. Bobby watched from the podium, and he could tell you were judging them immensely, but they were too lovey-dovey to even notice.
You walked back to the podium and turned your back to the door so the other customers waiting in the entrance couldn’t see your face, shuddering in displeasure. Bobby burst into laughter and you sighed deeply. “Okay, so like if it were you, and you were on a date with someone, why would you sit next to them and not in front of them?” You asked him, sincerely wondering about the weird phenomenon. “Like wouldn’t you want to look at them from the front? I feel like just staring at someone from the side is the weirdest thing when you’re having a meal together.” You rambled on, trying to understand. He laughed again at how distressed you were about it.
“Don’t question it, the more you try to understand it, the weirder it becomes.” He said patting your shoulder before getting menus ready to take another couple to a table. You sighed, turning back around, going back to your job. Bobby came back and you left, seating a group of girls on a galentine’s date. You could hear them whispering to themselves, giggling and you arrived at their table before them, setting down the menus. “Excuse me? Who is that other host?” One of the girls asked. You raised an eyebrow and they looked at you expectingly. You looked over and realized they’d been talking about Bobby. He was smiling brightly, laughing at something a customer had said, her boyfriend giving him a little bit of a look, protectively tightening his arm around her shoulder.
“Ahh him? His name is Bobby, would you like him to take your order?” You asked, feigning a bright tone. They nodded and you bowed a little before walking away. “Bobby, table 10 wants you to take their order.” You said, moving to take over what he was doing for the couple at the podium. His eyes widened at the request, but without a word, he headed over to the table. You finished up the reservation check in for the couple and walked them to their table, a few seats away from the group of girls. As you walked back, they were still talking to him and he looked a bit uncomfortable, but this wasn’t a uncommon event. Many times, people would ask for him, and he’d take over. You sighed a little, and he walked back.
“Someone’s popular.” You said, not looking at him, continuing to sort through the checks laid out in front of you. “Someone sounds jealous?” He teased, nudging your arm with his elbow. You glared at him, and shook your head, trying not to laugh. “Are you closing?” He asked, standing next to you, helping out. You nodded, groaning as you remembered the sad reality. He laughed in response and ruffled your hair a bit. “Don’t worry, I am too, I’ll make sure it’s fun.” He said. “Yah…” You glared at him, fixing your hair. He smiled cheekily before grabbing some menus for the next table.
“You don’t have any plans for Valentine’s Day?” You asked him, realizing that he’d be working instead of out on a date. You actually couldn’t remember if he’d told you if he was in a relationship or not. “Nope! No girlfriend, no Valentine’s date, hence why they scheduled me to work today…” He said, shrugging it off, but you could tell he was bitter, making you laugh. “The managers are quite cruel aren’t they?” He said. “Now that’s something I agree with 100%.” You said.
A bit later, you brought the check over to the table of girls and they looked disappointed as you weren’t Bobby. “I’ll leave this with you, let us know when you’re ready.” You said your lines and set the check clipboard on the table. You walked away, and went around collecting other checks, and when you came back, they hadn’t put down cards yet so you left back to the podium. And then you saw them put their cards down when Bobby was nearby and you rolled your eyes. Bobby came back with their cards and you looked at it in disgust. “$10 they write their numbers for you.” You said. He looked embarrassed, but he didn’t deny it. “And if they don’t?” He asked. “$10.” You said, looking up at him.
“How about a kiss on the cheek?” He asked. You gave him the most confused look. He laughed at your reaction, but didn’t take back his statement. “Well they’re definitely going to do it, so sure why not.” You shrugged it off, certain that they would do exactly what you expected. “You can’t tell them not to, you can’t persuade them to do anything.” You laid out rules before he took the cards and receipts back to them. He nodded, equally as confident. He walked over and set the receipts down with only a thank you and a smile. He walked back and continued to do his job.
After the group of girls left, you walked over together to go look at the receipts. He grabbed them first and you glared at him. He looked through them all and his smile grew bigger and bigger, while your frown deepened and deepened. He handed them to you with a smug smile on his face and you glared at him warily as you snatched the receipts out of his hands and looked through them yourself. Your mind didn’t want to accept what your eyes were seeing, not one phone number. You looked up at him and his smile was still there and he looked at you innocently.
“You said something to them didn’t you.” You accused him, handing the receipts back to him. He shook his head, sticking his cheek out, tapping a spot. You looked around and other people were starting to look at you. “Yah, not right now, we’re working.” You admitted your defeat, but you were starting to feel embarrassed. You pushed him away and headed back to the podium. He sulked a little, but followed after you.
You were now painfully aware of his existence next to you at the podium. You convinced yourself it was no big deal. But you just kept wondering about it. Throughout the rest of the night, you guys brushed arms, bumped into each other, and he was kind of amused by how flustered you were. When the last few customers left, everyone was doing their best to quickly get out of the restaurant and go home. You and the other hosts busily helped the cleaning staff to get things done quicker and eventually around 1AM you finished.
You headed to the back and grabbed your stuff, putting on your puffy winter jacket, and by this time, you’d been so busy you forgot about the bet from earlier. “Y/n!! Wait up!” You heard someone call your name as you headed out from the restaurant. You turned around and Bobby was jogging over to you. And you were instantly reminded of what you needed to do. “I’m waiting….” He stuck his cheek out and you rolled your eyes, grimacing. “Fine….” You quickly pecked his cheek, but he turned his face at the last moment and you kissed him on the lips instead. Your eyes widened at his reaction and you stepped back immediately while he broke into a fit of laughter.
“YAH!” You shouted at him, hitting his arm, covering your mouth with your other hand. He just laughed cheekily and you took deep breaths, calming yourself down. You glared at him consistently as he calmed himself down and he stepped closer, ruffling your hair once again. “That is another thing I don’t understand.” You pointed out, fixing your hair. “Don’t question it.” He said, making you frown again. You shook your head. “I’ll see you tomorrow!” He said, quickly pecking you on the cheek, and running away before you could even do anything. “Yah!!!” You shouted after him, and your blood was boiling. “So annoying….” You whined to yourself, no one was around to listen. But you could feel your face heating up from embarrassment, and you sighed deeply.
I CRINGE omg this was really bad I’m sorry, tbh might delete it. But this is the second part of the Valentine’s day four series. The next two will be of better quality I promise, and they should be up soon! Thank you for reading!!

“roses are red...”
Characters: JBJ’s Donghan & OC (ft. Seventeen’s Mingyu, Momoland’s JooE, Twice’s Nayeon, Monsta X’s Minhyuk, Astro’s Eunwoo, Weekly Idol MC’s Doni & Coni)
Word Count: 2286 words
Summary: You and Donghan are a secret idol couple, and you were both cast, along with other idols, for a Weekly Idol Valentine’s Day special. However, you both get paired up with different people and you both get really competitive...
You arrived at the familiar Cheongdam building, and you walking down to the basement with your manager and stylist. When you entered, you greeted everyone, and handed out some store bought chocolates that you’d picked up on the way since it was a Valentine’s Day special that you were participating in. None of the other guests had arrived yet, and you were given the script to go over. It was only an outline of the segments and the things they wanted you to talk about. You stood by the couch while your manager was talking with the PD and your stylist was fixing your makeup. “So I heard Donghan is coming today.” She said quietly to you. You tried not to smile, and you nudged her for teasing you, making her smile and laugh. “I wonder if we’ll be partners.” You said, looking back at the script.
Slowly, but surely, all of the guests and the two hosts arrived and filming was going to start in ten minutes. You, were one of the four girl idols, the others being Nayeon from TWICE, JooE from Momoland, and Hyeyeon from Gugudan. The boy idols were Donghan, Mingyu from Seventeen, Eunwoo from Astro, and Minhyuk from Monsta X. You smiled at Donghan as he walked in with his manager, and you walked over to greet him casually, slipping a couple chocolates into his hand. He widened his eyes in surprise, and you shook your head. You greeted his manager, and he greeted you back warmly which you appreciated. And then you guys went back over to the couch area, and you sat next to each other. To pass time until filming started, you showed him funny pictures you’d seen online, and he did the same.
You were friends with JooE, being the same age you’d gone to school together, so she knew about you and Donghan, and came over to sit with the two of you, especially since she wasn’t close with the others who were there. “Yah, what happens if you guys get paired together?” She asked you. “We’ll win everything.” Donghan said nonchalantly. You laughed. “That or we’ll be last in everything, it’s either or, there’s no in between.” You said. “Nayeon-unnie is really pretty in person don’t you think?” You observed her getting her makeup fixed as she put her mic on, as she’d gotten there last. “I agree 100%.” Donghan said, looking at her as well. “Yah!” You hit his shoulder, making him cry out in pain, but not too loudly. You and JooE laughed. “Filming will begin in five minutes, please be on standby!” The PD’s voice echoed through basement and you guys stood up.
Filming began and you all entered individually, boys first, and then girls. After all of the boys went out, it was your turn. Doni and Coni cheered loudly, “The reactions are so different...” Minhyuk said, making you laugh as you walked over to stand next to the two. Donghan couldn’t hide his smile, but it was okay because the others were laughing at the comment Minhyuk had just made. You introduced yourself and stood next to Donghan since he had been the last boy to come out. The other girls came out as well, ending with Nayeon, and you guys started off the first segment which was the “appeal” segment. Hyeyeon did cover dances, JooE did her famous CF dance, Nayeon did “popping to children songs”, and you sang a song. For the guys, Donghan also did cover dances, Eunwoo read a poem, Minhyuk sang a song, and Mingyu brought out food he’d prepared.
“UWahhhh...” You unconsciously expressed your surprise as Mingyu brought out food for each of the girls. “Y/n seems to like this a lot.” Coni started to instigate. Your eyes widened at the mention of your name, and you accepted the small box of bento-like food from Mingyu who was looking at you expectingly. The other guys watched enviously from the opposite side and you were obviously flustered. The girls enjoyed the food and the hosts discussed who should be paired with who. “Okay! We will now reveal the pairs!” Coni announced. The girls put away the food and fixed your makeup before the pairs were announced. “The first pair is Donghan and Hyeyeon!” Doni announced. You tried to control your expression, but JooE started to laugh a little to herself seeing your reaction.
Donghan looked a little flustered as well, but she had no idea about the hidden situation, and the two stood next to each other as if nothing was wrong. “The next pair is Nayeon and Eunwoo!” Coni said. Nayeon and Eunwoo stood together across from the first pair. “The third pair is JooE and Minhyuk!” Doni said. The two of them went over to stand next to Donghan and Hyeyeon, while you and Mingyu awkwardly looked at each other and stood together next to Nayeon and Eunwoo. “So you four will be on my team, and the other four will be on Coni’s team. Okay, now that all of the pairs are figured out, please come up with a name for your couple.” Doni asked. You all split up across the basement, but Donghan and Hyeyeon were RIGHT in your line of sight and you watched as they whispered to each other, not really paying attention to Mingyu.
“Y/n?” Mingyu tried to get your attention and you apologized profusely. “You two are like....” He had realized you were looking at Donghan and figured it out. You nodded, knowing the microphones were still recording. He nodded, taking into consideration the new information. “We have to win though, we have to do whatever it takes to win. Being on different teams makes me want to win more.” You laughed as you explained your growing desire to win. He laughed as well and you guys began talking about what you guys should be called. Donghan on the other hand was watching you and his competitiveness was growing as well, seeing you and Mingyu laughing together. Hyeyeon had also figured it out, and was laughing at how fired up he was getting.
Soon after, the second segment, and the first game began. The pairs were linked together at the ankles and a relay was set up for you guys complete. You and Mingyu began to practice and the synchronization you two had was probably the best out of all the pairs. Donghan saw this and you could practically see the fire in his eyes, and you almost felt bad for Hyeyeon since she was being dragged along. “Be careful!” You mouthed to him, scolding him for not paying attention to her. She laughed a little and you gave her a sorry look. Mingyu laughed, but it made Donghan fire up even more and you watched as their chemistry slowly got better and better. “Yah...” You glared.
The game started and you and Mingyu ended up being first, Donghan and Hyeyeon second, JooE and Minhyuk third, and Nayeon and Eunwoo last. The second game was feeding your partner jjajjangmyeon (black bean noodles), blindfolded, this time neither of the two of you won first, Nayeon and Eunwoo managed to come in first, JooE-Minhyuk second, Donghan-Hyeyeon third, and you-Mingyu last. Finally, the last game was where it got a little bit more intimate and “Valentine’s Day” themed. You all had to play the Pepero Game. You weren’t surprised as you had already known you’d be playing the game, but you were just flustered that you weren’t doing it with Donghan, and instead you were paired with Mingyu.
JooE and the other members kept looking at you and Donghan, separately, as you both tried to figure out the best angles to play the game with your partners. “Those two pairs are really competitive aren’t they...” Nayeon said, standing next to JooE, observing. JooE quietly explained the situation, covering her mic, and Nayeon did as well, and she nodded, eyes wide as she finally understood the competitive energy flowing between you two. The first pair to go up was Donghan and Hyeyeon and you watched, trying to control the glare on your face, but failing miserably. You just hoped that they wouldn’t show you. Hyeyeon’s hands were on his shoulders and he had one hand on her shoulder, the other awkwardly out, trying to balance as he started to bite onto the stick. They went slow, and you were watching with a sharp eye as he continued to get closer and closer. Conveniently you were standing in a spot where you could see it clearly, and your eyes widened as he started to turn his head and get even closer shortening the length of the stick.
However, Hyeyeon started laughing a little, freaking out, and the pepero broke. “Ahhh!” She exclaimed in regret along with the two MCs. They measured the length and it was around 1.5 centimeters long. “We can do better.” Mingyu whispered to you. “Oh we better.” You said, making him laugh. Donghan caught this and as he walked back with Hyeyeon to Doni’s side, and raised an eyebrow at you. You just smiled a little and stood in front of Mingyu, putting your hands on his shoulders. To everyone’s surprise, as well as yours, Mingyu put his hand on the crook of your neck, securing his position in front of you as if he was actually going to kiss you and you almost dropped the pepero out of your mouth in reaction. You couldn’t see Donghan any longer since Mingyu was blocking your line of sight, but all of the people on set, even some behind the cameras reacted and you could only imagine what was going through your boyfriend’s mind.
“Start!” Coni shouted, and Mingyu started to close the distance, extremely quickly. He took big bites, and your eyes were wide. You hadn’t expected him to be as competitive as well. You hit his shoulders a little, signaling for him to slow down and his grip on your neck loosened a little, and he slowed down. Your tried to push your lips as tight against your gums as you could, and so was Mingyu. He paused for a little and he was extremely close, you couldn’t even see the stick in your line of sight, it was just his face. Everyone had crowded around and you could see Donghan out of the corner of your eye and his eyes were glaring at you, and you tried not to laugh.
JooE, Nayeon, and Hyeyeon were all freaking out on the other side as they watched. Everyone’s attention was on the two of you and Mingyu took another small bite. You felt something touch your lips and you immediately pushed away, the smallest little piece of pepero stick dropping into Coni’s hand which had been below your mouths for a while. Everyone was freaking out and you had your hands over your mouth as you squatted down, eyes wide at what had just happened. Mingyu had gone straight to Donghan and the guys, secretly apologizing to Donghan so he wouldn’t kill him. You got up and your face was bright red. You looked at Donghan apologetically and you could see the frown on his face.
After filming ended, Coni’s team had won, and the four of you guys got a gift as a reward. You said goodbye to the other guests and the staff, and met with your manager, walking back upstairs to the first floor. You went to the bathroom really quickly, and Donghan caught you in the hallway after you came back out. “I didn’t think you’d get that competitive today.” He said, raising an eyebrow. You guys went back and forth at each other, pointing out things the other did. But then you both just starting laughing at each other’s jealously and competitiveness. “Okay, just to clarify though, it wasn’t me, and you got pretty competitive yourself.” You poked his chest, countering back. “I’m pretty sure they caught us glaring at each other at least twenty times.” You said, a little worried. He laughed, brushing your hair to the side. “Our managers made sure to talk to the PD about it.” He reassured you.
“Happy Valentine’s day I guess?” You said, hugging him. He laughed. “I also made sure that your manager got the gift I got for you, it should be in your van, so let me know later when you see it.” He whispered in your ear. You pushed away, raising an eyebrow. “You’ll like it, I’m 100% sure, but I just want the validation.” He said, nonchalantly, brushing back his non-existent long hair, flamboyantly. You rolled your eyes and shook your head. “What if I don’t like it?” You asked. He frowned, and the unexpected pout made you laugh. “I think I have to go now, but I’ll text you later.” You said, tip toe-ing to give him a quick kiss on his cheek. He nodded, returning a kiss on your forehead. You hurried off to your manager, who was waiting in front of your van and you got in, immediately surprised by a bunch of balloons. “Oh my...” You sat down and closed the door quickly, there were balloons all over the van and a giant teddy bear holding a bouquet of bright red roses in the seat next to yours, along with a little box of chocolates and a note. As you set off, you read the note and immediately texted him saying how much you enjoyed his gift. He sent you a bunch of hearts back and you made sure to find something to send him on the actual holiday.
As per usual my endings suck, and tbh this was put together very last minute... I didn’t even make it on the right day LOL. But this is the first of a four part Valentine’s Day special (each feature different idols). I’ll be uploading the rest of them throughout the next few days! Please look forward to it :)

13) “Sorry I’m late.” -- 100 Ways to Say I Love You
Characters: SF9 Youngbin
Word Count: 2705 words
Summary: You and Youngbin have been friends for years, and he was one of the few people that you talked to about everything. Despite him being one of your best friends, he was also one of the worst. The one thing that bothered you the most was that he was NEVER on time. Usually he wouldn’t apologize, even if he knew he’d annoyed you, and would make it up by buying you a drink or snack. But for the first time, when you’d made special plans, and he still shows up, you’re just about fed up with him...
“Hey look, its our fourth friendaversary on Friday.” You clicked on the notification that came up on your laptop and turned it to the person sitting across from you. He looked at it and laughed. “That’s a horrible picture.” He pointed out. You looked at it and laughed as well. “I think I look okay.” You said, looking at it again. “You aren’t the one with eyes drawn on their eyelids…” He muttered, making you laugh again. It had been a penalty for losing a bet that you guys had, which obviously you’d won. You had your arm around his neck laughing brightly in victory as he glared at the person behind the camera, probably Chani or Dawon you’d forgotten. You’d gladly allowed his friends to help out decorate his face with your makeup as a punishment and it was one of your favorite memories. You turned the laptop as he shook his head, remembering what for him, was not the best time of his life. “We should do something! Like let’s go grab dinner or go somewhere.” You suggested. He just nodded, focusing back on his paper and you frowned, leaning back in your chair, going back to doing your work as well.
Youngbin was one of your best friends. You’d met in the beginning of college, being in the same dorm and club, you naturally grew close to each other. Luckily for you he had a car and you along with some of the other friends you made through the club would go out often after classes or in between for food or to play around. You guys were in your last year of college now and you were both doing internships and were busy trying to get your lives together at least a little bit. However, as much as you loved Youngbin as your best friend, he was a horrible friend. Being honest, he still didn’t know what your favorite color was, he was very picky about when and who he wanted to hang out with, and when he did go out, he was never on time. That’s what bothered you the most, especially if it was with his friends rather than yours, or mutuals. There were many times where you’d become close to his friends because you’d get to the restaurant or meeting place at the set time, and so would his friends. And while it was a bit awkward, you guys bonded over the fact that he was never on time.
Besides that, he was a very punctual person when it came to professional things like showing up to work, or turning assignments in, or coming to classes. He was never late. But for some reason, when it had to do with social interactions, he was just never on time. You didn’t quite know why, but you’d never questioned it further than that. He was a bit more responsible than you, but he was also kind of a kid. Once you got to know him, he was a fun person, and you got to look past the tardiness and pickiness, but he only became friends with the people he wanted to. Unlike you, who became friends with almost anyone. Being complete opposites was one thing that people asked about often. They’d see the two of you hanging out and wonder, how does that friendship even work? Sometimes you wondered the same, but he’d been there for you through all of the hardships, fun times, and emotions since the first day. He was your literal “day-one” and you appreciated him. And you knew he appreciated you as well, even if he didn’t show it all the time.
You sighed as you thought about what to do for your friendaversary rather than paying attention to the paper that needed to be drafted. “I’ll talk to you about what we should do, but only after you show me a draft of your paper.” He said, not taking his eyes off his own paper, but knowing exactly what was going through your head. Your eyes brightened and immediately you started to get to your draft full focus-mode on. You didn’t see it, but he looked up at you and laughed a little to himself, shaking his head. To him, you were a handful. You were unorganized, too easily pressured, a bit insecure, a blabbermouth, the list goes on. But you balanced him out. In the beginning, he remembered that you had been looking around the dorm for your room, and you literally grabbed his sleeve to see if he could help you find the room, even thought it was literally just down the hall. Later that day, he saw you again at a club meeting, and you caught his eyes.
You’d been talking and introducing yourself to people, and eventually you made your way over to him, recognizing him from earlier. And ever since then, you guys had a Tom and Jerry friendship, always going at each other, teasing, comforting, annoying, and listening to each other. In the beginning you’d complained to him a lot about him not being punctual, but he just always lost track of time, and it was never intentional, he just couldn’t help it. Eventually you got used to it, but he knew it still annoyed you. He’d finished his paper, and was silently watching you as you had your concentration face on, only paying attention to your paper. He smiled a little unconsciously and sighed to himself. If he was going to be honest, he’d had a crush on you before, but you’d gotten into a relationship with someone else, so he backed off a bit since you were happy. But once he saw your relationship taking a turn for the worse, he talked some sense into you and eventually you broke up. It’d been at least a year since then, and you hadn’t met anyone that interested you. He loved teasing you, partially because your reactions were like ten times more interesting than his other friends, but also because you were an open book.
You on the other hand, never really thought of him in that way. He was always just one of your closest friends, and you depended on him to stay that way. When people would as you about him, you would always say that you were just friends. You’d even tried to set him up with someone but you couldn’t find anyone that was suitable enough for his taste and that would deal with how annoying he could be. Lately, however, after being single for such a long time, you were getting a little restless and had started to wonder what it would be like to date him. Even though you didn’t want to acknowledge it, you were practically dating him without all the intimate stuff. You were always together in your free time, you sought each other’s advice, etc. But you were also getting fed up with him. You were both busier nowadays compared to your first and second years in college. Your internship was taking up most of your free time, you went to interviews, at least twice a week, and you were worried about passing your last few classes so you spent a lot of time studying. He was the same, but he had a bit more free time than you.
So when you managed to get a break, you wanted to hang out with him, but he was never on time, shortening the amount of time that you got to hang out together, and it was really starting to get on your nerves. And not once had he apologized wholeheartedly for being late, which pissed you off even more. So while you were thinking about possibly dating him, you were turned off immediately because of his inability to stick to a set time. And you were hoping that he was beginning to catch on because you wouldn’t talk to him for the first at least ten minutes when you met up, because you needed to calm down and didn’t want to yell at him accidentally and say something stupid. He would just sit there silently or walk next to you without saying a thing, scared of what you would say. But he would never apologize without giving a lame excuse as to why he was late.
“I’m DONE! Okay it’s only a draft, so it’s not like the best piece of writing but I did it.” You mumbled the second half of your sentence and he rolled his eyes. “So where should we go?” You asked, thinking about places to go. “You can choose.” He said. “You know how annoying it is to say that right?” You glared at him. He shrugged and took a sip of his drink. You rolled your eyes and you both started searching up places to go. But it was going nowhere because every suggestion you would voice, he would turn down, and you did the same to him. “Ugh honestly at this rate we may as well not do anything.” He said, running his hands through his hair. “But I want to do something…” You pouted, and he rolled his eyes. “You don’t want to do anything I suggested though.” He said. “Don’t act like you didn’t do the EXACT same thing to me.” You warningly said to him. He imitated you, making you roll your eyes and he laughed. “Fine, well whatever you pick next we’ll do.” He said. “Okay, but let’s be real here. If you don’t want to go to whatever I choose, you won’t show up on time.” You whined. He got a little embarrassed, but didn’t say anything.
“That’s why you should choose something that you want to do because it will give you an incentive to actually be ON TIME.” You emphasized the last two words and he laughed. “I’m not joking Youngbin. If you don’t show up on time, I’m going to be really angry.” You said, as seriously as you could muster up. He saw how serious you were trying to be and he felt bad. “I’ll make sure I’m not late.” He said. But you’d heard that so many times. You nodded silently, and checked the clock on your laptop. “Shoot I’m going to be late for class…” You mumbled. “I’ll let you know where we’re going later, promise me you won’t be late this time…” You almost begged, holding out your pinky. He looked unsure, but did his part of the pinky promise and you stamped it. “See you on Friday!” You said, hurrying out of the cafe. He watched you run down the street and across the intersection to head onto campus and sighed.
You’d messaged him later that night, suggesting to take an evening trip to the coast to eat at this one place you guys had been craving to try for months. You’d sent him the time, and which station to meet at the night before and he’d approved of your choice, wondering why they hadn’t thought of it sooner. You got ready, in some casual clothes, packing only your wallet, camera, and a couple other things in your bag, before heading out to the station. You walked along the streets and texted him saying that you were headed there, and he said that he was on his way there too. And it surprised you, you weren’t sure whether or not to believe him, but you went ahead nonetheless. You made it to the station and told him you were waiting at the entrance, and leaned against the wall. He didn’t respond and your mood was starting to worsen by the minute. 6:30… First it was five minutes, then ten minutes. After fifteen minutes you’d seen so many people that you moved spots to sit down and you played around on your phone, a frown on your face. Twenty minutes passed and you decided to wait five more minutes before leaving.
6:54… You read the clock across from you standing in the middle of the station’s entryway. One minute left. You looked around and saw no sight of him, and got up. You unlocked your phone and began to type out a message saying that you were leaving, but you heard running footsteps coming towards you. You looked up hoping to see Youngbin, but it was someone else. You frowned even more and shook your head. As soon as you were about to take a step and send the message, you felt someone grab your shoulder. You’d been paying attention to the person who ran in front of you that you didn’t notice someone had been coming towards you from the other direction. “I’m… sorry… I’m… late…” Youngbin gasped in between words trying to catch his breath. You looked at him wide eyed and turned to face him. He was wearing a casual white t-shirt with jeans, and a flannel on top, but in his hands was a small bouquet of flowers. You were utterly confused, not knowing whether to feel mad that he was late or happy that he finally apologized to you before you had to nag it out of him.
“I took longer than I expected trying to pick out flowers and lost track of time. I didn’t remember which ones you were allergic to so I had to ask y/f/n and she didn’t reply quickly enough so I just got these and rushed over… I hope you like them.” He rambled on. You were still trying to register what was going on. Your body was still slightly turned the opposite direction, your eyes were wide in surprise, blinking constantly, and your finger was right above the send button. “I really tried not to be late today, I planned everything out, and I went according to schedule, but I was still late…” He said, ashamed, you could tell he was being sincere. “Why’d you get me flowers…?” You asked, finally sputtering something out. “Because… We’re going on a date today.” He said confidently. You raised an eyebrow. “You know how you started dating (insert ex-bf name)? Well I was actually going to ask you out then, but he got to you first. And since you seemed happy, I let it be.” He started explaining.
“But then you and that asshole broke up, and I didn’t want to burden you so I gave you time, but I don’t think I can wait any longer…” He said. He held out the bouquet to you and you were still frozen in your spot, eyes still wide, finger still in the same place. “How about it day-one?” He asked, eyes shining hopefully. You finally broke out of your trance and your face was as bright as a tomato. “You know… if you keep being late there’s going to be a problem.” You glared at him, despite your reddened face of embarrassment. “But… since you were late because of these flowers, I guess I’ll say yes…” You took the bouquet and avoided eye contact with him, looking to the side, chin up. You looked at him from the side, and he was laughing. “I’m serious! If you keep being late I won’t date you.” You yelled, raising the bouquet about to hit him with it. He put his arms up to shield himself instinctively making you laugh, and you shook your head. “Come on, we have to change our train ticket since you got here late…” You walked away from him to go to the ticket office and he hurried after you.
He slung his arm over your shoulder and kissed your head quickly, making you blush and hit him on the side as he acted like he didn’t do anything. “I hate you.” You crossed your arms, but simultaneously made sure the bouquet of small white roses was safe. “Sure….” He nodded, making you want to hit him again, but this time he dodged and you glared at him as he went ahead to the ticket office. “Come one we’re late!” He called to you. “And whose fault is that???” You shouted at him, running after him. He laughed and you laughed as well.
AHHHH okay this was another drabble I started a while ago, but only found again recently as in two days ago so I decided to revamp it and post it. TBH I suck at endings because I don’t like when they’re super cringey AF but like I realized how hard it is to make it not cringey AF..... So I commend writers who have this whole thing down LOL i’m still learning *cries*. But I hope you guys like this, I’ll be uploading more soon, I had a burst of inspiration after not writing for a week so I hope you guys look forward to my next scenarios!! Thank you~
