what she means: in Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, Curley's wife is treated so poorly that she isn't even given a name; she is only ever referred to as "Curley's wife." Was it the intent of the author to dehumanize the character in an attempt to critique the way she is treated by the men in this story, or was Steinbeck just a misogynistic douchebag who couldn't be bothered to name the only female character in the entire book?
