Although Malachi has the ability to discern through deductive means whether or not a person’s life aligns with someone from history, he also discovered the hard way that touching them could achieve the same effect in a much more drastic fashion.
For this reason he’s becoming less willing to touch others unless absolutely necessary, afraid that doing so will set off a chain reaction and drag him into a seizure.
