So many people who claim to care about trans issues will see conservative transphobes rave about "cutting off healthy breast tissue" and "girls mutilating themselves," rage or clown on male pregnancy, constantly share post-op photos of top surgery scars and phallo skin grafts to illicit outrage, transvestigate male celebrities to "prove he's secretly a woman"--and then turn around and declare that the Right forgets that trans men and mascs exist. I'm so tired of it.

Intersex people are meant to be intersex.

We were not "supposed to" develop any way other than how we actually did.

We are not a failed version of something else.

Manhood isn't incompatible with femininity. It's not even incompatible with womanhood.

Assuming that trans mascs must hate and reject all femininity if they really are men is supporting toxic masculinity.

Hinting that they're still in some way women (if they've expressed that's not part of their gender) and/or straight if they're into men simply because they're gnc is transphobic.

If cis men can be feminine, so can trans men and being feminine does not automatically mean you want to be/are a woman.

If we can't rid the queer community of anti-masculinity, you will always be imposing a level of womanhood on trans men, which is inherently transphobic. A trans man should be able to live his life, embody his own masculinity without being admonished for it by people who claim to be progressive. Degendering us is not a compliment, malgendering us is not gender affirming. Women are not more virtuous than men and that sentiment is misogynistic.

We're men and we deserve basic human respect as any other person should be given. That basic human respect is respecting our identity, realizing your biases and hangups with our identities have nothing to do with us and should not be imposed on us. Imposing biases on others' identities is exactly what conservative bigots do, there is no 'woke' way to do that.

my favorite movie as a little kid (as in the movie came out the year i was born) was disney's pocahontas. this is probably bc there were pretty ladies in it and also a raccoon

anyway shoutout to my mom who sat me down and explained to me as soon as i understood spoken language--in child-understandable but blunt terms--that while the movie was very loosely "based on historical events," it outright lied a lot about those events. she explained that the real Pocahontas was a little girl and the real john smith was the actual bad guy. she explained gnarly concepts and ugly truths to me in a simplified but not censored way. and i understood it!

(and now as an adult i know that movie is a total shitshow that should never have been made)

anyway. the point is. talk to your kids about shit because they can understand more than you give them credit for

violence is also sexual assault

violence is also bullying and harassment so bad that it makes you want to kill yourself to get away from it all

everyone in the trans community deals with all these different forms of violence in one way or another and trans men/mascs have been reported as having the highest rates of depression and suicide and of having experiences sexual assault

the violence that trans men/mascs experience is also worth acknowledging and addressing, just like the violence that trans women/fems face is worth acknowledging

but to claim that any one group of trans people is "more" or "less" oppressed just based off of the statistics of only one type of violence experienced by the trans community is straight up oppression olympics and needs to fucking stop

we need to come together to acknowledge the violence that ALL trans, nonbinary, and intersex people face and combat it TOGETHER
