I'm gonna be annoying and hype and non critical of the next life series when it comes out I don't care about your hot takes or 'wahhh it's not vanilla anymore' or 'last life was better' I care about shenanigans and 1 million gimmicks and custom mods and Watcher Lore References and scarian divorce and I hope it gets more complicated and sillier and weirder forever and you all die mad about it. I hope Grian and all his friends get hyped as fuck and never feel bad about having fun. The way Grian has urged people to not get too hyped and reiterated multiple times that he's leaning more into what he and the others find fun rather than what will be the best hit with the audience (which is a constantly shifting collection of people who are always gonna be unhappy with something) just makes me kinda bummed. Bummed that he had to say it so many times and do preemptive damage control for a series that isn't even out yet. I hope he has fun and I can feel his passion for it like I did with wild life. I hope I skip reading every negative post so they don't wreck my viewing experience like the last time. I hope the fan service is insane.

But I love the idea of Legend, the guy who can't stop losing everyone he loves, simultaneously invokes the memories of everyone else's loved ones who they've lost or are missing.

There's something about the way he fights that makes Sky pause and think of Fi

Twilight is so used to having a snarky imp hanging over his shoulder that sometimes he forgets that's his brother now, not the girl he loved

Time will never admit it, but Legend's rudeness and snark almost make him feel back at home with his big brother, Mido

It's Legend's own fault, but sometimes Four will catch himself asking "Ezlo, what's that?" just for the vet to answer in just about that same darn hat the old bird used to use, acting all put up on but also very eager to instruct because Knowledge!

Hyrule can't pin down WHAT exactly it is that reminds him of Aurora, but something about the vet resembles that once cursed princess, or vice versa.

Some days it's Revali's same brand of snark and superiority, sometimes it's Urbosa's confident smile and unapologetic presence, but Wild keeps getting caught in memories of the past around the vet. Sometimes it's even Flora, from so long ago, when she couldn't stand his guts, that he hears echoing in the vet's voice.

Warriors get's reminded of Mask sometimes, other allies at others, even Lana when the vet drops his walls and smiles for real. It's mostly Mask though, that troublesome little pain in his ass (he loves them both dearly)

As for Wind, it's mostly on the quieter days, when they're sitting around, wind blowing past, and he can convince Legend to talk about some story or land he's been to. Something about the vet's manner of speech, the wistful warmth as he talks about places he's seen long ago, reminds Wind of those longer journeys with the King of Red Lions, when he'd lean back and just listen while the sea stretched out endless around them

Just.... the beauty of being able to personify loss he struggles with himself, but bring peace to others that he's still seeking for himself. I need it.
