After drama <Doctors>, what have you been doing? 

As soon as I finished the drama, I shot movie <Silent Witness> and I traveled here and there. Now I’m taking break before the movie release. Just like I preparing for prosecutor it make me feel scared and excited.

What are you missing lately? 

Travel and cat. When the weather gets more hot, I will go windsurfing. I often play golf with my dad. 

Golf? 

I like all kind of sports. I started playing golf because I want spend more time with my parents. Is it about a year now? At first it was scary but now I slowly getting better. I also like to go fishing with my dad. I play bowling with my friends. 

Come to thinks about it, from. flowers arrangements, kick boxing and fencing you’re someone who famous for having many hobbies. 

When you finished your work, you will feel empty. Your body and your mind will hurts. When you think about it instead of live as Park Shin Hye you will live someone else for 3~5 months. After I finished shooting, I seem to forget who I am. Normal daily life became awkward, and everything seems to have been restart. Just like someone pressed the reset button. 

That’s why you create new hobbies and distributing your thoughts. 

That’s true. Seeing something new, learn new things, and filling it up. It effects pretty well. Sometimes it may take three months to get back to me, and sometimes it takes more than six months. It was the exceptionally difficult part, especially the ones that were particularly enjoyable. 

That means you have a high level of commitment to your role. What is the most difficult work to return to reality? 

It will be drama called <Doctors>. It was quite psychologically than I thought it would be shooting movie right after the drama end. I played the role of a lawyer, and I found that there was a lot of emotion in the trial. I think it was more difficult for me to feel a lot of emotion since the person who was upright in the courtroom changed slightly. I realized that acting was hard and never ending. I also had a lot of worries about what actor Park Shin-hye is like. At the moment, there’s a moment when I’m not sure if I’m doing well or not. That’s what in my mind. I think it will be a great inspiration to my acting career in various ways. 

Is it different acting in Drama or Movie? 

Drama must be filmed and aired within a given time, the movie is more than a sense of speed So I need more delicate emotional in acting. The screen is even bigger, the subtle tremor of the face, the slightest look and every single of them needs to act too. 

When you start a new project, what kind of effort do you put to get into that role? 

It is impossible for me to perfectly become the character. I will simply trying to find the point of unity to become as Choi Inha or Yoo Hyejung as possible. Before the filming start, I will study the character with an acting teacher to find the contact point between Park Shinhye and the character. When I analyze the character with the teacher, there are a lot of times when I get to discover the part of the character that I never thought about. So based on my role I will go to the filming set, add the atmosphere of the set and then the character is complete. It has limitation if only use instincts. 

Whenever you appear on TV programmes like Infinity Challenge and Three Meals A Day, it become quite an hot issue. However you are still an actor who is rarely seen in TV variety shows. 

I really don’t have that sense of variety/entertainment. All thanks to the editing team of the production crew. 

While seeing you doing girl group dancing and pickling radish kimchi, the audience can feel the charm of you as a ‘person’. 

I am very playful. Haha. That’s why I got condemned sometimes like please be gentle and well-mannered as an actress. Yet I want to lead a life in which I can do things I want. I don’t like being locked in the frame where actors are supposed to be or behave like this or that.  What’s so wrong about tanning under the sun? If only I can prepare myself perfectly as a professional right before I start a new work, I can live more freely on normal days, can’t I? 

Oh that’s bit different than Park Shin Hye usual image? Just as there was a newspaper article titled “Shin Hye, why do you only have good articles?”, People think of a straight image when come about Park Shin-hye. 

I’m not exactly a good person. I want to be someone who can say no. I am trying to live right like what my parents teach me when I kids, but sometimes I can not tolerate it when I see things that are both wicked and rude. There’s many times people tend to become timid and cower but that’s normal for people who in their 20’s. I like to talk to people so much, so there are a lot of times when I do interviews I talk about my what I thought, that make reporters like to talk about it.

Your loyalty to friends is well-known. It’s like you have a standard of defining who are ‘My people’. 

Luckily, I am surrounded by people who are always being the same. Honest and upright people. At the same time, possess the tenacity to follow the path they desire; such as the staff I have been working with for several years, and friends like FTIsland’s HongKi and HIGHLIGHT’s JunHyung. 

What do you want to do if you have a month-long vacation in which you absolutely don’t need to do nothing? 

I want to go to Africa. I would love to see the Victoria Falls appeared in Youth Over Flowers.

What would you do if you got a casting call from Youth Over Flowers? 

Aw. It’s a must to join. I think it’s cool to go on a camping car trip with friends I like. 

The member that you would like to do it together? 

Seo Hyorim unni and Krystal. Both of them enjoy traveling and also like music and I feel they will fit me greatly. Ah, even with Sungkyung who has lots of excitement and always fun will be great too. 

How was it traveling to Iceland with your brother? Since traveling between siblings is a rare thing. 

Somehow we need someone who can drive well in Iceland. So maybe because of that oppa brought me along haha. I went to only drive well. 

What is Park Shinhye’s style as traveler? 

Not too long ago, I went to travel to Southern France, Dusseldorf and Amsterdam with a close unni. We walked when we wanted to walk, rest when we wanted to rest and being as lazy as possible.  I realized the more I know about a country and its culture, the more fun the trip will be. Now, when I go to the museum, I will read about it from books and search about it in the internet in advance to know more about the artworks. Thanks to that, I was able to feel the richness and deepness of the paintings. Was there any painting that was particularly impressive? I went to Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and I fell for the texture of the oil paintings. The double layered brush strokes created a beautiful three-dimensional feeling. If you look at it quietly, at a certain moment, the painting won’t feel like a painting but instead a place.

Around 10 years ago, we have once met Shinhye. We did beauty interview and we were surprised with your knowledge. 

I’m still using the same product that I was using at that time. I use enzymatic soap and a cleanser with less surfactant. I believe moisturizing is most important so I always apply enough moisturizing cream. Rather than sticking to high quality products, I’m more careful to stick to the basics. The same goes to hair. I think the foundation of having good hair is to keep the scalp healthy, so I most meticulous in choosing shampoo like Ryo’s Ginseng Anti-Hair Loss Shampoo. On a day that I have to be exposed to dryer heat like today’s photoshoot, I apply plenty of Ryo’s Anti-Hair Loss Scalp Essence. 

This year you are 28 years old. How do you wish to get older? 

My mother is in her mid 50s but her eye smiles are very pretty. That means she laughed much. Many of the customers that come to my parents’ restaurant said they feel better whenever they see my mother. When I see that, I also want to get older like my mother. I found that I could also wrinkle beautifully when I look at my mother’s face. 

We’re wondering on how Actress Park Shinhye will grow. What do you dream of yourself on the next 10, 20 years? 

I heard a lot of this question but I don’t want to answer it. Rather, if I define myself to be any kind of actress, I will be consumed with an obsession in that surrounded time frame. I just want to thank the present and live happily.
