and by the way i hate ea. i cannot stand them. you'll never see me on here interacting with or praising ea in anyway whatsoever. i disagree with everything that they do. there's been no coming back from that hate for me since ea decided to start doing micro-transactions with these 'kits'. content that's essentially leftovers from other packs. the only thing that keeps me playing this game is my creative passions, the dedication and love for the sims franchise found in this online community and the fact that i still cant get sims 3 to run smoothly on my computer.

i'm not here to be negative or hate on this game. i love the sims 4, but i do not love or care for the company behind it. i DO love the community, and they are the people i want to praise. everyone on here is so talented, passionate and creative. i love to see what everyone does with this game.

i just want there to be more transparency when we discuss the decisions ea makes, and for there to be less of a 'ea messed up again but well forget it in 2 weeks and go back to praising them' narrative happening online. Like can we all agree ea sucks and just admit were in it for the community instead of trying to excuse their actions or praise them for doing Absolutely nothing.

So, the style contest FINALLY got that dreaded update and.... now its worse?

Now the bar will fill up no matter if you vote "wrong", which is great tbh! It was a bad system that only benefitted a certain amount of players and punished you for voting honestly.

However, now the rewards instead of being 2gems and 15AP in 5 "gauges", is 1gem and 10AP (or 6, I did get 10 but i saw some people get 6 and then only getting hearts) for 10 "gauges". You get 1 gem the first time and then 2AP and 1Heart interchanged. So: the rewards have been lowered, and now you cant get the special scene every month if youre f2p! :)

The calendar only gives 60 gems a month, by voting every day for 30 days you get 60 more gems, so if youre constant you could afford to buy the special scene every month as a f2p. Well not anymore.

Seriously, I am getting so tired of f2p players being so harshly punished for not spending, what is exactly the point of taking away a gem? Why are you trying to hard to *push* people into spending instead of making a good quality and well priced product that people will happily spend money on?

And I know that special scenes are not essential and that theyre just an extra treat, but to begin with paywalling content like this is a practice I hate in games like this (this aint Episode) and, like always, its unfair. Yeah you can get them in the end if you save... at the expense of no longer being up to date. And honestly, if you have been playing from day 1, preregistered, religiously logging in every day, saving your gems and AP... Why shouldnt you be up to date?

Maybe im tremendously biased here, i don't know, but you *should* be able to play the game for free, its a free game after all. Paid outfits? Sure, cosmetics is a good way to get money. Having to recharge to make a repetition if you want to be up to date? Sure, makes sense. Pay for actual game content? Nah, this is not how these things should work.

I don’t think I am being unreasonable at all, many games hold on solely on cosmetics and extras that dont affect gameplay. Many otome games too.

I hope that at least we will see changes in the podiums, it will surely take a few days for it to happen so we have to be patient.
