i spent way too much time on this, but i still enjoyed drawing it!

remember when steven built his whole self-worth around usefulness and being like rose out of misplaced guilt for both his parent figures’ grief for rose AND rose’s actions, and to add to that he might BE her with amnesia or is effectively a prison for her? …but then “change your mind” happened! that was year ago! (now 2 yrs older he is struggling to come to terms with years of uncertainty and guilt, and he only just let go of the thing he tied his self-worth around and the same thing that served as his coping mechanism: feeling needed and useful to others.)
