Also I am of the bitter opinion that Dead Money does not deserve the role of "NV Horror DLC".

Yes the vibes are scary and youre balancing your life on a knifes edge but you have 3 other people who don't want to die willing to compromise to a degree in working together to get out of that hell hole..........Like. Neat. There are areas in the vanilla map that make me feel mortal peril and I don't have people incentivized to keep me alive hanging around me.

Old World Blues, on the other hand, is much more horrifying as a concept, and the Courier goes through it alone. If the devs added one, really annoying (the dlc itself is a drag so honestly adding this bit into it wouldn't make it worse), addition it would really hammer in how much body horror is directly in this DLC;

The Courier should black out once in a while to "Go Lobotomite" and end up in a randomized place in the map.

But not only did your brain, spine, and heart get stolen and get held hostage, and not only are you saved by the skin of your teeth from becoming one of the many, botched eperiments found around the map, but you're also surrounded by said enhanced and aggressive botched experiments.......which the detail of them being hypersexual seems to be lost on a LOT of people. The implications that you're tossed into the middle of the hump-or-murder pit while freshly missing body parts is really downplayed by the constant finger penis jokes.

Honestly, having another imperfect experiment but in the guise of faulty connection would have been fun and I feel would have truly hammered home how fuckin helpless you truly are in this situation.

fallout new Vegas has the funniest protagonist ever?? the other games are like 'you're from a vault looking for your dad!' or 'you're a dad looking for your lost baby!' and then FNV rocks up with 'brain-damaged gunshot victim claws out of a grave and sprints towards Vegas' like???? girl what is happening in Nevada

A post-apocalyptic setting where those who hid in underground bunkers are weak to radiation, mutation, diseases, allergens, and sunlight due to the fact that they been in isolation for generations. They're like the worst vampires ever.

They do drink blood but they don't need to, they've just kind of developed some weird political views over the centuries underground.
