“Me and Lori didn’t break up, we were never a couple. Have you seen her nose? It looks like someone stuck an elastic band on the tip there and she’s just left it there. And don’t even get me started on how she introduces herself.” Chandler changed his pitch in order to mock her, “Hey, I’m Lori; that’s one ‘O’ and no ‘E’ okay?” He proceeded to mimic her giggle. “What did she tell you? Did she say we were dating?”

“i think lori is trying to get her R E V E N G E here, chan.” lips twitched at the edges as she spoke. “what did you even like about lori ‘just an o, no e’ lori ??” turning to fully stare at him with a curious look on her face. “not that i’m prying---- but i think you can do better--- maybe with a lorie with an E !!”

“Excuse me…?” Maura’s typically polite tone was much more frantic at the moment. “You haven’t seen a corgi running around here by chance, have you? My neighbor had an emergency and asked me to look after him…” And the little escape artist had twisted out of his collar and ran off after just 20 minutes in her care.

“no, i haven’t---- but i can help you look ??” eyes scanning around her with a concerned expression. “corgi’s are adorable--- what’s the corgi’s name ??”

“you know, that sounds like a fantastic idea, but unfortunately, i don’t quite have the money to drop at least ten bucks on each of these bouquets,” arizona replied. but before she had the words all the way out, the other girl had gone to find someone to help them. a little surprised but mostly grateful, arizona smiled when the other returned, announcing the idea with the discount. “wow, aren’t you a lifesaver?” she exclaimed, eager to pick out what should go in her bouquet. “that sounds perfect. we could do one of each and more. wanna help?”

“don’t worry--- i actually got the guy to cut us a deal--- he kind of owes me a favor.” wiggling her eyebrows slowly. not in a weird way, of course. just hoping to tempt the other into getting flowers. flowers made people happy. happy people were infectious. right now everyone needed to smile. today seemed like a GRIM DAY. really monica had slipped the guy the extra money JUST IN CASE. “you can pay this man THREE BUCKS---- gonna take the risk ??” when the other agreed, monica clapped. ‘yes, of course. i can’t even tell you how much i love flowers !! they just make people S M I L E. we could make a lovely pattern of some sort. these colors are to die for !!”

As crazy as night shifts were, lately Arizona seemed to prefer them somewhat, at least for being able to spend some of her day outside and not at the hospital, while day shifts meant arriving and leaving the hospital in the dark. Unfortunately, sleeping during the day was a challenging feat, and she had only managed to get five hours of sleep in for today, even after coming home exhausted from the night shift before. She’d likely be kicking herself for it later. 

That was how Arizona found herself outside a boutique nearby Luke’s Diner, picking out flowers for a certain eight-year-old patient, who could use some brightness in her life. While it was very likely frowned upon by her superiors to have the flowers delivered addressed from Arizona, she figured it couldn’t hurt if it was anonymous. “Oh, I just can’t seem to choose,” she exclaimed after looking at most of the flowers they had inside and outside the shop, “What are your thoughts? Should I go with the sunflowers, the lilies, or these pink ones I don’t know the name of?” 

“why not all three--- i mean, you don’t have to LIMIT YOURSELF.” looking around for someone to help them. “hold on---” hoping the other would take a short pause for her. monica ran over to discuss something with the worker. trotting back, monica smiled, “so he said you could make YOUR OWN bouquet !! got a great deal for you, too !!” clapping her hands excitedly.

Olivia didn’t always love having a day off from work. It was nice if she had plans with her friends, or with Jess, or at all, but today she had nothing to do, and she couldn’t stop thinking about the little girl that had been kidnapped two towns over. It was out of her jurisdiction, but she still felt as though she should be doing something.

To get her mind off of it, she decided to go for a walk by the shore. It didn’t work, however, and she was so wrapped up in her head that she just about ran into someone on the boardwalk.

“Are you okay?” she asked, “I’m so sorry…”

“no---- i’m fine,” heart was just beating quite fast, fist over her chest. “you just scared the CRAP outta me.” trying to pull herself together. to think new york was SO CROWDED & here she was startled by this. “i was in my own little world---- thinking about making a pie. so really, you have nothing to worry about !!” laughing lightly. “do you like pie ??”

Eric sat on a picnic bench outside the tv studio, staring at the plastic bag in his hand. “The toys in the Happy Meals right now are Transformers and My Little Pony… what year is it?” he asked, completely seriously. “Don’t look at me like that. You tell me the truth. Did we, or did we not… time travel back to my childhood?”

“or, maybe---- we’ve traveled to the FUTURE ??” monica waited, hoping to blow his mind into a million tiny pieces. “personally, i have no idea what’s going on with your happy meal toys, but i think i kind of like it ??” chewing at her lower lip with a sort of intrigued expression on her face. “i think i need to get me a HAPPY MEAL !! how did they even allow you a HAPPY MEAL ?? do you even have a C H I L D ??”
