Happy Last Day of the School Year! To say I am proud is an understatement. These kiddos have been through a lot and yet they continue to fight and grow. I’m beyond blessed to have been about to be be part of their learning journey. Although some students will be moving on after today, I want to remind you all that I will forever be your child’s teacher and advocate. They have proven time and time again that growth comes from within, from hard work and persistence. Way to stand up tall during a pandemic and achieve the unthinkable during a time of change, struggle and unimaginable circumstances. I love each and every one of you. And wish you all THE BEST SUMMER. Looking forward to returning back in the fall with a full class and no zooming 🥰🥰. Congrats to my little TKer who after today will officially be a Kinder. Congrats to my little kinder who after today will officially be a first grader. Congrats to my little first grader who after today will officially be a second grader. Congrats to my little second graders who after today will officially be third graders. Congrats to my third graders who after today will officially be fourth graders. Truly hope they have a wonderful summer break and come back recharged and refreshed in the fall to learn 💖💖. https://www.instagram.com/p/CP8SrU3p55LYyQTDWj3RF8_hTFa5XTybG8AXts0/?utm_medium=tumblr

🎉Shout Out of the Day🎉 goes to this guy. Sometimes I like to just give a shout out because I’m in a happy mood and the child’s face makes me happy. He is such a cutie pie so I can’t help but take a picture of all the cuteness. This is him on his break in the little sensory area I created in the classroom where we work on social skills 🥰🥰🥰. He’s doing so good, but also his cheeks I can’t even with them 🥰🥰🥰. That’s all!!! (at John Marshall Elementary) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPYxPmBpRPRyNcnwKl81hzEMpb-LVhYtTxFyV00/?utm_medium=tumblr

🎉 Shout Out of the Day 🎉 goes to this handsome fella working on rhyming. Thought we could have a little fun and play memory with rhyming words. He did a great job finding pairs. We also had lots of fun as we learned 🥰🥰. It’s super meaningful and excited to see the students actually having fun and enjoying the activities and lessons you think of or create. He did such a great job!! Way to go buddy! https://www.instagram.com/p/CPGk5jpJf0nlvPaB-v4TJ_2BiOcZpIInE86gco0/?utm_medium=tumblr

🎉Shout Out of the Day🎉 goes to this little cutie. First day back on campus and with her classmates and already she’s becoming Ms. Independent and getting her math done on her own. So proud of her. She’s been away for a year, but it’s as if she never left us. Way to come back and remember the classroom expectations and how to get things done by yourself sweetheart. I’m so proud of you 👏🏼 (at John Marshall Elementary) https://www.instagram.com/p/CO3Xpx2pH2411bVouFW_s5a-SzETOibbUp9moE0/?igshid=1dhoznikwr0s2

💖My heart is full 💖 Took me a day and many congrats later to actually realize what has happened 😜. A week ago I got that fortune in my cookie at lunch at work in honor of teacher appreciation week. This week as we honor all educators I received these beautiful flowers and the Masonic Teacher of the Year Award 😯. Such a sweet surprise. I’m humbled and honored because this award is voted by colleagues. I’m fortunate to work with such amazing educators that push me to continue to grow and inspire me to create instruction that’s engaging and fun for the students. This year was like no other year and I share this with my team (Ms. Rodina, Ms. Itzel, Ms. Alis and Ms. Ayana) who come to work every day and support my little roomies and zoomies in every which way possible to ensure they get the academic instruction they deserve. I can’t thank Ms. Lulette, Ms. Rianne and Mr. Mark enough for helping me support all their IEP goals within the classroom. I have learned so much from them and have really been able to build a classroom environment that supports their services within the classroom so we are able to tackle it all together as a team. So I share this with all of you for supporting me and dealing with my every crazy idea with a smile 😁. Thank you for thinking of me. Thank for voting for me. And last of all thank you for continuing to help me grow as an educator. I love my job and there is no other place I would love to teach but Marshall ❤️❤️. https://www.instagram.com/p/COd6eBXp5uF8juGlbOTiv9aRRJrGUfwsd7hDCM0/?igshid=s6dlcwdf5gt7

🎉Shout Out of the Day🎉 goes to this cutie. Even through zoom she’s able to work hard during ELA groups. We are building on vocabulary, fluency, comprehension and responding independently a complete sentence. She’s doing amazing so I thought to add writing to the mix today. She was able without support to write exactly what she said on the white board. So proud of her for all her hard work. She was amazing as always. Great job! 🎉Shout Out of the Day🎉 goes to this little guy. Look at him eating away at those cookies to read the sight words. He loves the smartboard and he loves cookies so combining both has been a great success. Love seeing the excitement as he works. We explored color words, number words and even CVC words that he sounded out. Loving the action and engagement while learning. He’s a kiddo that movement helps him stay on task. This smartboard is a blessing. Great job friend! I’m proud of you. (at John Marshall Elementary) https://www.instagram.com/p/COdYhpgJeKSdnGFAPV9_bVUwGRX5-xfRotSERE0/?igshid=1qdym70xh9gfa

🎉Shout Out of the Day 🎉 goes to this handsome fella. This little guy had his first day back on campus with his classmates today and he did GRRRRRREEEATT! He came right in and followed the classroom routine as it was presented to him with no problems. He kept his mask on and didn’t even ask for a break, kept on working hard. He was great! So glad to have finally been able to meet him in person. We worked on the sentence frame I see a and he was able to place different pictures and make the sentence over and over. Then we practiced him independently writing the sentence and he picked seeing his sister. He was super cute and was able to ask for help to spell her name. Super proud of him! So glad his first day was such a success. I’m grateful I’ve got things in the classroom that are so engaging that he worked hard to earn. Way to go buddy! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! Because Wednesday’s are for distance learning and distancing learn should be fun 😜. But in all seriousness look at the smile on his kiddos face. That’s what I live for as a teacher those moments when a student feels so successful they have a huge smile on their face. This munchkin of mine followed the step by step art lesson and made a pretty darn amazing caterpillar. So proud of him. An added bonus is that no parent needed to be sitting next to him for him to focus and complete. He did it all on his own. These art activities are done 1. To provide some fun to the learning day. 2. To test students ability to follow 1, 2 and sometimes even 3 step directions correctly. 3. It helps check for visual motor planning. 4. To check students fine motor skills. So although the students having fun as a teacher I’m using it to determine what the students next steps to success are. As you can see here he’s showing me he’s ready for a new challenge 🥰🥰🥰🥰. 🎉Shout Out of the Day🎉 goes to this handsome fella with the most loving smile. Has been distancing learning and although change and transitions are not his favorite, he didnt skip a beat once on campus and in OT. It was like no time was lost. He remembered the expectations and worked hard and gave his full attention as best as he could. So proud of him. This pandemic hasn’t been easy for this guy, but look at that smile. Although school work isn’t always the most fun thing to do, the smile proves that school is their happpy place and that they need to be back on campus with their teacher, the team and their classmates. These are the moments as a teacher I treasure the most. They can be gone for a year and yet when they come back they have not forgotten the love, the hard work and fun school brings into their life. https://www.instagram.com/p/COL-gfbJL5FeUM3JFgt275xx0YGVu7FraQw5vs0/?igshid=c5hyy3bxp4b0

🎉Shout Out of the Day🎉 goes to this fella, been away from school for a year because of a pandemic and although transitions and changes are hard for him he did such a great job with me when I assessed him. He had the biggest smile when he saw me. It made my day that he recognized and remembered me and it made him happy. He was even able to say my name when I said, “Do you know who I am?” Considering my face was covered in a mask and I didn’t have my signature Hello Kitty glasses on that the kids are all used too. He gave me a hug and did so well. Once I got him into the classroom he didn’t want to leave 😂😂😂. It makes me feel good knowing that the kiddos feel at home in the classroom and once they make their way back they don’t want to leave. It’s crazy that last year this time this kiddo was not as tall. He looked so grown 😭😭😭. I hate that I’ve missed all this time with him and missed seeing him grow and change. But so glad he came by and I was able to work with him one on one and he did so good for me. Very proud of you Agasi! https://www.instagram.com/p/CNVqETmpHYk0_zHa05b2DEohe_Lj-Q5S0yMlw00/?igshid=12t9zlf2ibw79

This made my day! Today was the first day of hybrid learning we had students in class (roomies) and students at home (zoomies) together learning. This handsome fella got all ready for the learning day and was waiting patiently for the bus to arrive. It’s messages from parents like this one, saying the kiddos excited to see you and can’t wait to get back that makes everything I do as a teacher worthwhile. I’m very much a tough love kind of teacher and the fact that these kiddos know how much I love them is the reason I push them so hard makes going back even in a crazy situation worth it. I wish I could turn back time and it be August and they all were returning to school because mask or not the best learning is done in a classroom with your peers around to help influence your good choices and to be provided with structure and routine to help you excel in your strengths and strengthen your weaknesses. #rommies&zoomiestime #hybridlife #teacherlife #happyteacher #readystudent https://www.instagram.com/p/CNB1Siyp_iyKVNq2ioFEo10OyxX2DQDjRVwgsQ0/?igshid=gdvccowv1qz1

🎉Shout Out of the Day🎉 goes to my green group. Love that Friday Fun day we can play educational games that motivate them to go beyond their standard based learning. It excites me to push them and to see the excitement in their faces when I show them new things and they learn new concepts. In math their new favorite thing is talking about numbers beyond thousands. So today I decided let me challenge them to see if they would be able to identify less than and greater than in those larger numbers. We’ve been talking about how to explain our answers in math just like we explain ourselves and our thinking during language arts. And you can see that they were able to identify that due to the 9 being larger it made the 900,000,000 bigger than the 200,000,000. I’m so proud of them for working so hard and working independently through zoom. This isn’t easy, but they have made the most it and are doing GRRRRRREATTTTT! https://www.instagram.com/p/CM5o-3xHMrHlW2QvG29JvOQqt-JROFhGddsCYA0/?igshid=1v17bxdi29hjm

Went into work today after my second vaccine 💉. I have a mix of emotions about the return. It felt good seeing my team and being with them again. I’m excited and can’t wait to see those who are returning. I’m nervous because I feel like it’s going to be super hard not to hug them. I’m sad that they have to come into a classroom that feels less inviting because of all the shields on the tables. I feel bad that my students and I will need to be in masks all day. That they have to see me with my face covered. But I’m overjoyed to be getting some normalcy in that I get to go to work every day and my home is no longer the workplace. #hybridlearning #pandemiclife #covid_19 #distancelearning #newnormal #teacherlife🍎📚✏️ https://www.instagram.com/p/CMvqJOEJZpDiBbfq-aaOvgNvL4iBr5XqoNZmeI0/?igshid=1uokkmgjxdco9
