Watching how the media has been treating this case is absolutely fascinating. We (Black ppl) have been saying this shit for years. But now since the public’s reaction to the CEO of the shittiest insurance company in the country being murdered ranges from apathy to “good” and ppl are calling out how they’re obviously trying to make an example of him so the rest of the Poors don’t get an ideas, they’ll admit to their biased coverage. The ruling class must be a little shook.
If Luigi here had gunned down a room of kindergartners, they would’ve been plastering pictures of him with friends and family in articles about mental health (lol) and asking where his life went wrong. Instead they have this man doing pap walks surrounded by FBI agents with rifles and calling him a terrorist for killing one(1) piece of shit. Dylann Roof murdered 9 Black people IN A CHURCH and was taken to Burger King after he was arrested.
You’ll never get me to feel bad for the CEO of United fucking Healthcare.

Teaboot, you cant be eating your spaghetti out of ziplock bags
give me one legitimate reason why, if I know that I will not be able to wash a tupperware container before it is irredeemably ruined, and posess within myself an incapacitating aversion to my kitchen sink, and knowing that I do not give a cubic ounce of a shit what strangers think of me, I should not transport cold spaghetti in a ziplock bag for mine own consumption

do you ever do character analysis's? if you do, can you please do a character analysis of ed?? idk only if you want to like if it sounds fun thank
I’ve always wanted to do some, but I’m shy about doing them unprompted, which makes me glad you came along, anon! I’d love to do one for you, although I will warn you it may end up long.
(edit: end wordcount is over 2500 words Be prepared, I certainly went in-depth with this one.)Ed is, hands down, my favorite character of all time. I’m quite sure I gathered most of my personal ideology from him at 12/13, and absorbed half of his personality in the process. So, I really hope I can do him justice.
In all ways, shapes, and forms, Edward Elric is certainly the most multi-faceted, interesting, and revolutionary male lead I’ve ever seen in my life. I make it a personal goal to watch a lot of different kinds of media and critically consume it all, but I’ve yet to stumble over a character I love as ardently as Edward Elric.
He is a disabled, educated, and feminist male lead who not only breaks the boundaries between gender expectations, but also sets great examples for loveable male characters in the future. I have no doubt in my mind when I say this: Edward Elric and FMA:B as a whole turned an entire era of tropes, ideals, and character alignments on their head.
Edward Elric is an openminded young man who worked through his guilt, nihilism, and self hatred to become a kind, compassionate person who saved the world just because he wanted to protect and cherish who he loved.
More under the cut, so I don’t flood dashes with more of my rambly meta.

al returning from visiting xing for the first time and the first thing out of his mouth is “i can’t believe you fed ling a shoe” and ed is confused for a split second before he just. looks at him. exasperated
“did he tell you that?”
“no, practically every person i met was thrilled to meet the brother of the man who fed a shoe to the emperor, supposedly, so i kind of just.. picked it up from there on my own”
“there’s no way he-”
“it’s in books, brother”

An important thing about Roy Mustang:
Roy’s really good at acting. Roy’s also decided that the general mask he wants to put on around people is “cool, stoic, composed, selfish leader” so they don’t go assuming too many things about his real ideations. Since he’s a good actor, he’s real good at putting on this front.
Off to incinerate Maria Ross? Cooler than ice. Facing confrontation about his role in her murder? Ruthlessly chill. Associating with (well anyone really) when other military personnel might be watching? Thermometer’s reading absolute zero.
But of course the keyword to all this is acting. He’s really talented at acting cool, not to be confused with “He is actually cool”. Because whenever he’s not putting on a performance for someone, his whole personality is pretty well summed up as “high-pitched indignant yelling”
In summation: He’s a loser

How Winry's Heroism Helped Inspire Ed to Choose Humanity Over Alchemy
When you actually look at Ed’s character development throughout the series, the stuff in Rush Valley with Winry was a huge important turning point for him. Moreover, his respect for the simple heroism of human beings as opposed to the power of alchemy is really very inspired by how he views Winry as a hero who does work more valuable than what he does as an alchemist. He looks up to her and realizes she has skills that alchemy can’t compare to and that’s why she’s a big factor in his final decision.
First off, we have to look at the aftermath of the Nina thing. This was the first time Ed had to accept that he can’t solve everything with alchemy.
Here he blames being an “insignificant human” as the reason he couldn’t save Nina. He still believes he should be able to solve everything with alchemy and sees his humanity as his weakness here. He feels like a failure because he believes as an alchemist, his skills should apply to any situation.
He has a similar crisis when he’s unable to use alchemy to get to the doctor when the woman in Rush Valley is giving birth. He tries to build a bridge, but it collapses under it’s own weight.

Ed has a similar line at a different point in the Brotherhood episode that adapts it, and I remember that it someone at Mark Spoils commented it came off as kinda manpain-y, like he’s suddenly making this situation about his issues. I’m always one to criticize that sort of thing and I understand with the condensed-ness of the Brotherhood episode it can come off that way, but reading the full chapter the line was there for a very specific reason- despite having all the fantastic superpowers at his disposal, Ed is helpless in this situation. He has no power to save anyone.
Which makes it a powerful statement when Winry isn’t. Winry takes the reigns and saves the day not with superpowers, but with courage and basic medical knowledge. Ed may know alchemy and fighting, but when the situation is an everyday crisis of normal human proportions like giving birth, it’s Winry who can get things done and save lives. Winry doesn’t rely on alchemy, so she has important skills that Ed doesn’t, so she can save the day where alchemy can’t.
And that’s when Ed changes his attitude. Through Winry, he sees that “insignificant humans” are amazing and capable of things alchemy cannot possibly do. He would not have had the revelation if not for Winry’s heroism.
