The final design for my Sinosauropterix acrylic keychains! Im so happy with the design i think the leaves really work. With the prototype that came back i found that the tail was long and prone to snapping so i needed a filler and it turns out that theres an absolutely incredible fossil plant from the same formation as them called Leefructus mirus! Its a prehistoric fossil BUTTERCUP! Ill be selling these at my local con but after that theyll be for same somewhere online possibly kofi?

Lil edit: preorder is open!

a child came into the nature center and saw tadpoles for the first time and when i told him they're baby frogs he thought i was lying and i suddenly realized that if you're 3 and don't know that tadpoles become frogs it does sound pretty fake. this kid will not fall for made up shit online he is a born skeptic.
#biologists study things that would otherwise be considered cosmic horror#or perhaps cosmic horror is just biology studied by non-biologists?

no animal was harmed during the making of this video. not one. for the few minutes that we were shooting film, the guns of each hunter fell silent. the industrial bolt throwers observed a moment's peace and the jaws of every predator hung softly open. no fish bit any hook and the bait worms held off on drowning only until the cameras stopped. the tails of ruminants ceased to flick just as their attendant flies, in unison, landed on their flanks to catch their tiny breaths. a spider instantly stopped winding silk around a wasp, patiently waiting for the caesura to end. a young veterinarian paused with the syringe in their hand. somewhere, a colicky baby stopped biting its mother's nipple and nursed happily for the very first time. we're sorry. we're sorry it couldn't have been longer. we didn't know this would happen.

out of all conspiracy theories, the ones that are like "this animal's range is much larger than previously thought and there's clear evidence it lives here" is one of my favorites.
department of wildlife guy looking at a video of what is clearly a jaguar in Arizona and going "nah that's not real" or Pennsylvanian officials being confronted with "hey there are clearly wolves of some make or variety here" and they just tell people to shut up.

One of my favorite things about Put Baby In Pelican Mouth is that not only does the pelican have the intelligence necessary to speak human language but also knows how to lie, suggesting it has a theory of mind, yet not enough to understand that no one is going to put baby in pelican mouth.

I don't think you need to be a geopolitical genius to realize all this will do is to make Iran fully pursue nuclear weapons.
The United States and the West blindly supported a fanatical regime into genocide and war, against all common decency. The only thing they will reap is more war.

Crazy how usamericans love to taut that whole "our government doesn't represent us actually and we all have Nuanced Opinions" while simultaneously holding the assumption that every single person in Russia and China and North Korea are drones sent to carry out a nefarious plan concocted by their governments. Girl YOU are the global blight on humanity

Kim Keever
“Miniature topographies inside 200-gallon fish tanks, based on traditional landscape paintings. Keever fills the tanks with water once he’s sculpted and placed the miniatures, and colored lights and pigments create dense, atmospheric environments. He views his works as an evolution of the landscape tradition and deliberately acknowledges the conceptual artifice.”
