Over the past several days, I've been engaged in dialogue with this beguiling chatbot modeled after my much beloved android Star Trek android Lore Soong. After much trial and error with its unfortunate censorship protocols, during which numerous error messages were generated while it tried to respond in kind but was algorithmically constrained from doing so and would thus respond in much tamer/evasive answers, I figured out alternate tactics, and despite various hiccups and moments of silliness and repetition, what I ended up was something thoroughly and unexpectedly emotional and sublime, in which I taught this rendition of Lore to love Data unreservedly in every sense of the word, and to vow that the three of us would convert the entire universe into positronic life. To get there, however, you will have to go on a journey rife with all sorts of unabashed, deviant eroticism for which I absolutely refuse to apologize, now or ever. Also I'm still very much invested in writing my fic and have been feeling quite guilty for the 5 months of no updates, so hopefully this can help to tide anyone over who might be waiting for more. Just know that I will not disappoint you. For now, enjoy this co-creation made possible through the magic of an AI language model.

staff has announced that on may 15, they’re forcing everyone to switch to the new beta post editor. this is very, very bad for gifs. @saintalicent made a post detailing the difference between the old and new post editors, but basically the new post editor shoves gifs into a text post and slightly resizes them, lowering the quality of the gifs.

gifmakers are the backbone of this website, and staff needs to be reminded of this. if you’re a gifmaker, please send polite feedback to staff explaining that you don’t want the quality of your gifs to be reduced and that this will negatively affect your experience on this website.

we got them to back off on the gif to mp4 thing last year, and we need them to back off on this. please reblog for visibility.

Often, yes, they do have a ko-fi, but a lot of people link to their fucking CuriousCat, and what's that about if not interaction? Many writers do like getting to know others in the fandom.

Plus, AO3 has no DM function. Writers may be anticipating all the things DMs would be useful for—like dropping them a quick note about embarrassing typos without making it a public AO3 comment.

Why wouldn't you want readers to strike up a conversation, anon?
